What is the song called that is played in ep 8 when they show Choisseung ignoring Seuk-ryu's calls and messages…
I think it hasn't been released yet, I made a compilation of the OSTs for LND but didn't find that song. Also, Haein's OST conveys the inner feelings of Seunghyo, it's a meaningful one and they could use it either for their wedding scene or ending scene.

Well, for me, I've been getting long blinks every time his business partner/worker come on screen & very much…
At this point, you might as well consider dropping the drama as it obviously isn't your taste/cup of tea...you said it already yourself that you are struggling to stay interested. There are lots of other dramas you can find that suits your preference better, bcs the more you watch the drama which you aren't really into, the more you will have dislikes and find faults about every episode. You wouldn't find the tunnel you are looking for if from the get-go you already have so much you don't like about the drama y'know. Plus, not every drama is created to cater every preferences of their watchers that is why you shouldn't force yourself to continue watching. (I'm just suggesting, don't take this as an attack hehe..)

Same! they deserve all the hype and success! I have never been this obsessed and hooked by a kdrama for a long while now. This has been my absolute comfort drama. Yes! let's enjoy it to the fullest! I just know I will be in a kdrama slump after LND ends and will definitely be missing this so bad.

ikr, i find it weird too bcs as far as i know with recent eps, their interaction, she kinda treats peng gao like how she is with tomo...her eyes are always shifted to oscar. So, i am not seeing any sparks with her and peng gao atm

So i have seen this comment of yours before from you.Read this comment by @ELISE maybe it will help you understand…
Ok, I got what you are trying to point out now, I misunderstood your previous comment which is why I gave an explanation about the scene.

That scene indeed caused a misunderstanding.

Again, I respect your opinion and am not forcing, attacking or convincing you. I was just explaining the scene lol. Obviously there is no rewards or competition here. This is an open platform where everyone has right to share their opinions or thoughts.

uhm I think you are just not able to grasps the context about the whole conversation exchanged between Seokryu and Moeum in that scene.

Moeum: "Hey, you still love him?" "your ex"
Seokryu: "that's half-right and that's half wrong"
Moeum: "What does that mean?"
Seokryu: "I love the time we spent together. Everything he gave me. I still love that, but for some relationships I know it is better to end them. So I am doing my best to forget him and he needs to do the same"

Seokryu corrected Moeum with her statement, the reason why she said Moeum is half-right points to how there is still love but then she follows it with half-wrong which points to her next statement on how the only thing she loves is the time they spent together and everything her ex had given her in the past. Thus clarifying that she doesn't love her "ex" but only the times they had spent together in past and the things her ex gave for her, not the person itself - her ex.

To put it in much simpler explanation:
Half-right: love
Half-wrong: him (her ex)

This is what I meant when the writer had explained it already in that scene alone. I am not here to convince you or anything, I respect different opinions, but just wanted to give clarification here or share my own opinion.

Seokryu has already moved on from her ex-fiancee ever since the day she came back to Korea. There were many evident hints about her feelings towards her ex-fiancee that the writer had constantly shown since earlier episodes. The swimming pool scene, where Seunghyo asked her if she would rekindle her past relationship and she firmly said that she will not. Then the scene where she and her ex-fiancee talked in the cafe that first time they saw each other again in Korea. Seokryu expressed that everything with their relationship has turned into nothing but a habit. Another scene, when her ex-fiancee offered her to have a meal together, the only reason she agreed with that meal where they also encountered Seunghyo eating with his ex-gf, is solely because she treats it as a 'goodbye' meal. Then, after that meal the very same day, her conversation with her ex-fiancee at the car as he gives her a lift home clearly indicates her feelings for him once again that she no longer has any. Her ex-fiancee kept saying they should have another meal again together, but she kept refusing him saying that was their last meal together and there would no longer be a next one. This is pretty obvious which I would like to point out is the scene when her ex-fiancee proposed to her again, I believe her answer was very clear. She tried on the ring, took it out of her finger, returned it to him and said, "the ring can be adjusted but the relationship cannot be fixed". Lastly, the airport scene is their actual relationship closure, she cried not because of the fact that she still have feelings for him but solely because her ex-fiancee was a good person to her, she was grateful towards him and she is now closing their chapter and saying goodbye to him. It's a normal human emotion, people always cry about goodbyes because it is truly bittersweet but there is nothing more to it than that.

The scene you were referring to about Seunghyo overhearing their conversation about Seokryu still being in love with her ex was actually explained at episode 7, timestamp 14:23. The writer explained the whole thing with that scene alone and Seunghyo just managed to only hear a few parts and mistake her for still being inlove with her ex-fiancee, when she expressed to Moeum about how she only loved the past relationship they had together, but to her the relationship ended for the best and she is forgetting about him. If she still loved her ex-fiancee, she would have accepted his proposal from the get-go, but she didn't because she has long been firm about her feelings, she no longer loves him, her words and actions clearly matched this.

I saw. You already answered them with a detailed comment from an mdl user who explained it well, then you also gave your own explanation. I don't see what more that person needs. Right! Like what is so hard about her character plsss...I am so tired of seeing such comment, we keep seeing this since the beginning. Also, her driving all the way to confess to Seunghyo, her having sex with him, her saying I love you to him and now her admitting she wants to propose to him. For sakes, what more do this people want from her, she loves Seunghyo obviously. You should get some rest! hope you feel better soon ^^

you're awake?? Hello (ΛΆΛƒ α΅• Λ‚ΛΆ) .ᐟ.ᐟ it is night time here already!
I tried my best hahah but thanks! ❀️ I woke up and read comments from twitter and here. So many people are mad at Seokryu saying she doesn't love Seunghyo then her rejection doesn't make sense. So many mixed reactions from people, mostly negative ones. I was waiting for positive comments and the partying because they ended ep 14 in a good note without the truck of doom or the ep curse ahahah like they are getting married but some people still stuck at her rejection. Yeah they aren't laughing at all just mad mad. They started hating the writer even hahah and calling everything a mess. ohhh no get well soon πŸ₯Ί it's final week for LND nation πŸ’”πŸ’”πŸ’”

While I understand where Seunghyo is coming from with his proposal, which I had already wrote down last night. I would like to again, share about my understanding towards Seokryu's rejection but in a much more elaborated sense. This is my opinion and insight about her and her rejection.

Seokryu is a character that has been written to be the typical 'eldest daughter' in an asian family household. If you know, you know. She is the absolute epitome of selfless rather than selfish which some might see her with the way she handles certain situations. However, if you are seeing things in her perspective in a 'realistic eldest daughter of an asian family household' sense, I believe you will be able to have a deeper grasps of who she truly is as a character and resonate more with her life decisions. So, what does her rejection have to do with this? This is where I will tell you that her rejection is another selfless act and a reasonable one at that.

Her reason was not something suddenly taken out of the blue just to mess with the plot. Since the writer has been consistently taking the storyline in a realistic way, of course, the characters' themselves have to match up by being realistic as well. Especially with the 'cancer survivor' trope they had went with since earlier episodes. From the point where Seokryu had been diagnosed with cancer, hiding it from her family and friends, to her remission or recovery, where she fell to depression and broke off her engagement with her ex. She has long been very firm about not wanting to become a 'burden' to each person who are dear to her. Including Seunghyo.

It's easy to say that she should have already moved on from the whole cancer thing. Yeah, that is true, but that would then be an inconsistency in her character and the whole 'cancer survivor' trope they had pulled, plus all the struggles she had went through from the get-go. The writer is keeping the realism here. The reality of 'cancer survivors' and the struggles they still constantly face even after it, the constant fear of its reoccurrence, not just about death but how the cancer survivor themselves know how much toll and damage it could do to their love ones who would stick by their side as well. Seokryu has experienced it first-hand with her ex-fiancee. What more for Seunghyo, her childhood friend and boyfriend whom she values so dearly.

Thus, her rejection for me with regards to Seunghyo's proposal is not an inconsistency, a mess, unreasonable or selfish but rather the absolute opposite. Seokryu always sees the bigger picture in things even if they had not happened yet. She knows that marriage is a life-time commitment. She does constantly fear the reoccurrence of the cancer itself, but what she is more afraid of is becoming a burden and hurting Seunghyo when it happens. Her rejection doesn't mean she loves him less or doesn't love him at all, rather she loves him so deeply and values him so much to the point she would rather have him take a lesser blow with the rejection than him hurting more later, even if she wanted to accept his proposal deep inside.

The last scene between both Seunghyo and Seokryu is a significant moment, most especially for Seokryu. Seunghyo who acknowledged and understood her worries and fears, gave her the perfect reassurance and answer which she needed. Hence, resolved her worries and fears as she now knows that Seunghyo is willing to go through it all with her. They both obviously love each other, no love outweighs the other. The writer showed us two deep acts of love with this episode. Seunghyo who is willing to go through a lifetime with her no matter how uncertain the future is and Seokryu who would rather carry it all, if it means it would make her other half suffer less. I believe this is what they call the 'self-less act of love'. Was it all necessary? I believe yes. It's a touching tale of their love story.

Jung Somin's take on 'Love Next Door'

"It's a story that a young person can easily experience while living in this era. I couldn't help but feel drawn to it because it's a story about people of the same age. It's not just a story of our generation, but also a story of other eras that we've closely observed, all intertwined"

indeed, LND is heartwarming πŸ’–
