I thought I was the only one. I've heard of him and tried watching his previous dramas but I always end up either not watching at all or finishing them. This is also the only Song Wei Long drama for me which I am about to finish today. I agree with you on this aspect, his acting skills are somehow more prominent here and ngl I think he really suited this type of character more.

What makes the movie feel intense is more the sudden loud sound cues and the unpredictable movements and actions of the zombies rather than traditional jumpscares. So if you're mainly concerned about frequent jumpscares, I don't think it's something you need to worry too much about.
