Perhaps because by saying he won’t be going with her, she would bring her maids to make her look more fancy…
That part I understand, it's just that she had countless of maids and after FL fumbled at the clothing store, it would make sense to take someone else.

That's the one thing I wish they did better in this drama. I need a little more explanation of these thought process.

I do like that the FL isn't crazy ambitious. She's a simple woman who knows she is a servant. She's just trying to stay out of trouble and take it day by day.

Are you frikking kidding me? Thé male lead could have written his wife à letter of repudiation stating adultery…
Wait, people are actually mad at ML?

The downfall of their marriage is both their fault. One, already had someone she loved, so she never opened her heart to her husband. The other tried once, then joined the army to be away from his wife.

Yes, I understand that the way he set the trap to catch his wife was cruel, but from what we have seen so far, ML was never a gentleman to begin with. We have seen him torture the shopkeeper, so he isn't written to be a green flag. Catching his wife in action was the quickest and easiest way to get a divorce without offending her family.

His method was cruel, but if the wife wasn't there in the first place, she wouldn't have been caught.

To your comment, I don't think he would have written her a letter of repudiation. That was just his way of scaring them. He knows that he still needs their connection (so they still have to remain on good terms), and he also knows that her family would never agree, since that would ruin their reputation.

Lol, I don't understand the hate for ML when even the wife wasn't all goody either. I am curious how FL will fall for him because, as of right now, I don't really see how they will even get to that level of affection. They are genuinely just master and servant.

Ep7, anyone know why ML was so sure his wife would bring the female servants with her to the birthday party? I know he said it's because she's prideful but that doesn't gurantee for sure that she will bring them

On ep 6, does anyone know why fl is so shook when the story teller said all those that are aware are killed to prevent rumors from spreading?

lol I was thinking the same thing. Like, damn in other dramas, the leads were already well acquainted with each…
Lol In The Early Spring the main casts already slept together by ep 6. Ours here hasn't even had one conversation yet

Maybe we will see each other in The Lament of Autumn. Heard it’s our next “red flag” drama. 🤣😂💀Patiently…
Never too late to join. I first saw him in A Familiar Stranger and from then on I was hook. Although I don't love every project he is in, he is one of the actors that I really like. I love how expressive his eyes are

Oh girl, you will definitely see me in The Lament of Autumn - anything for my boy Cheng Lei. I also do love myself a red flag.

When I Meet the Moon, we will have to see if the drama holds up. I loved the novel but am not entirely convinced YL can carry such an emotionally heavy character. I love FSZ and cried for him, so I feel like I would be disappointed if he isn't brought to life the way I imagined him to. Will check out a few episodes to see how I feel, as school dramas also aren't my thing anymore. Lol unless it is A Love Confession, then sign me up!

Finally. such a rollercoaster mood while watching. Enjoy it while it lasts. I seldom watch drama now, compared…
Same! Adulting gave me little free time. I am more picky on what I decide to watch. I think that was why I liked this so much, because it felt more mature. I am so done with first love and high school romances.

Same. Hopefully a good drama shows up for us to enjoy again.
Same! I really enjoyed The Road to Splendor, so I felt pretty lucky that I was able to go from that one to this one.

Exactly this. Script writers should have adjusted Flora's reactions based on the changes they made in Luke's character…
Agreed! I think the drama took out a lot of the emotional explanation of the characters and their relationship.

SYZ's death broke me in the novel. Flora was so sad that she locked herself in her room for days. Because we see their emotional buildup and connection in the novel, we understand why it hurts her so much. I'm pissed that the drama made SY grieve more than Flora, when in reality they were both hurting.

Agreed! They injected a lot of lines that would have made sense in the novel but do not translate well in the drama without prior understanding. I don't hate the drama, but I just wished we had a little more time to explore. Although I don't blame the team, because the episode cuts would have hurt any drama. I think they did their best with 24 episodes.

Just like that, it's a wrap.

Wow! I will really miss our Luke and Flora.

Will also miss this comment section. I had so much fun reading everyone's input. Like Flora, we all fell for Luke but also cursed him. Pitied Flora, but was also frustrated with her.

May we see each other again at the next drama comment section!

Title The Early Spring Spoiler
I think it was an annual celebration party. The drama didn't really explore this, but Flora coordinated a lot…
So after Luke left for the business trip, Flora turned in her resignation.

Luke had set up a rule that higher-level staff members need Luke's approval to resign. Because Flora didn't get the promotion, she is not considered a high-level staff, hence, she does not need Luke to approve. She just needs her direct supervisor's approval.

He was pissed when he came back and found out that her resignation had been approved and she had already left. Tracy even reminded Luke that this was a rule he himself had set. Lol, the look on his face was priceless.

Anyways, there was a flea market at their workplace. Luke has bought her limited-edition bags throughout their 6 years, and Flora sold all those bags at the flea market. Lol that means that whenever Luke comes into the office, he sees the other female staff carrying his bags.

She moved back home, changed her phone number, changed her family's phone number, bought a new building for her parents (so they relocated), and stopped contact with all members at LM (including all her friends and roommates). Basically, no one knew where she went and what she was doing. Flora had said that when she is ready, she will be the one to contact them herself. Luke did end up asking all the people who are close to her, and because Flora hadn't contacted them, they genuinely could not give an answer.

Honestly, I have read a lot of novels that have been adapted or are planned to be adapted into dramas, and The Early Spring is one of my favorites. Once you start it, I would love to hear your thoughts on it.

I'm on episode 19 and what the hell is wrong with the timeline, they were just starting their fourth year and…
They dated for 4 years, then Flora left for work for 14 months.

As they didn't give us a clear timeline we can assume that it is roughly their 6th year together

Definitely!

Luke is out here expecting her to be there, only to find out that she had already left without saying goodbye. He called her cold because she did a lot of things so that he couldn't find her.

I won't go into the details of what she did because I don't want to spoil it, but let's just say Luke deserved it.

It was also so much fun to see Luke break down, regretting his actions and words. He was throwing a tantrum and yelling at Tracy for letting Flora leave while he was gone 😂

😂 it’s too funny I love it Knowing how it will end is such low pressure because these characters are insane
For real. I'm just cracking up at everyone's predictions and reasoning.

I do appreciate that at least that part was consistent with the novel. Both leads are at fault in their own way, so I'm happy that I at least know how it plays out
