His drama Something In The Rain turned me from a K drama admirer to an addict. At that time (6 years ago) I must have seen SITR at least 20 times, sometimes skipping the boring bits but still enjoying great acting, writing and directing. K drama world will sorely miss you, sir. RIP
Finally someone who did not like the book, like me!🤣🤣
I read it befor this drama aired and hated it so much I did not want even to consider watching it. I was gently nudged and eventually saw it, knowing I'd hate it since the writer of the book, wrote the screenplay. Imagine my surprise when I actually loved this drama: so much better than the book! I loved the main character when I could not stand him, his immaturity and chidish behaviour in the book!
I wanted to thank you, Shiro, for fixing my two year K drama slump!
A few days ago, I was lurking around this site, trying to find a drama I might be interested in watching. Nothing really piqued my fancy until I read your review. It had magic words in it for me: "highly bingeable and entertaining". To tell you the truth, I was already interested in this drama, but the top reviews posted on drama page dissuaded me every time. Your review had the right words in it to nudge me in the right direction. And I switched my brain off, I was entertained and I actually binged in 4 days a full K drama for the first time in two years! (NB. I did finish some very short web dramas and I forced myself to finish The Scarecrow which took me over 3 months! But that does not count in my book.)
"I lowkey don't get how some people say it had good plot, if you enjoy watching 5 bed scenes in one episode then ok, but i came here for an actual good plot. "
You are that kind of a BL watcher who looks first and foremost fot the plot in a drama. Unfortunatelt for you, the vast majority of BL watcher are young women wanting to see two pretty and handsome men make out and who could not care less for the plot. Most of recent Thai BLs cater exclusively to that audience.
Of course, there are exceptions but they are a few and far between and they just confirm the rule (money, money, money!).
Thank you for subbing this but how can I watch it, please? I could not find any links on the first episode page....the Links dropdown menu opens outside the screen and when I click on the bit of the box I see, I get sent to dramaotaku which is a dead end for me. So what am I doing wrong here? EDIT: Registering and logging in did not work at first for me: I needed to do it a few (5 or 6) times before it actually worked! Anyway, thank you for your hard work at subbing this great series!!!
Help, please! I followed your link but could not find the anything to watch: there is the poster and a synopsis but no links to watch. The drop down menu for Links on top of the page opens outside the screen and when I click on it takes me to dramaotaku.....What am I doing wrong here?
I am having the same problem here that I had with HIStory 3:Trapped - I don't buy these actors as a cop and a villain: the cop looks like a high school kid and the villain like an idol (which he probably is!). Not even the suspension of disbelief works for me! Dropped!
After dropping it at ep.5 because I discovered by accident who the culprit is, I picked it up again wanting to watch a nice psychological thriller. What I got was a depiction of the highly hierarchical korean society where the rich are protected by extremely violet police, dropping the blame on the poor (easy target: beat them up and people will admit to anything!). What a rotten society that was! I wonder if it still is....probably, on social media nowadays!
PS I just scrolled down a few comments and got the ending explained/spoiled...again! When will the people find the spoiler toggle?
Thank you for this detailed review. I dropped this drama after season 3 (I think: it's when she went for a space walk?!?). The ending of that season seemed too outrageous even for this fantastical series! I am happy to find out how it ends and I am also happy to have dropped it when I did. I loved the first two seasons but then it became too much for me to suspend my disbelief!
Every word true! I saw only one episode of this awful awful show and I still remember the rage it induced in me! I cannot for the life of me understand the reasons why this drama is so popular with watchers on MDL. Great review!🥰
Where did you watch it? I checked the quality of Gaga and iqiyi and there is some difference in color tone (which…
I am watching it on my usual *cough*free*cough* streaming site where they stream gaga version. I have no idea what and if they did something to it but it looks too sharp, too clear and therefore in my eyes, too cold and too perfect. That is what I don't like: I'd love it to be softer, grainier... High resolution quality makes everything look too perfect, beyond lifelike, artificial. And I am not talking about this particular series only. As I mentioned above, this has been going on since digital cameras started being used. I think there is even a moniker for it today "Netflix style" (too sharp, colourless). I have seen a lot of japanese dramas but this was the first time this kind of cinematography struck me. I remember watching an amazing film River (https://mydramalist.com/749343-river-nagarenaide-yo) entirely filmed with an iPhone and it did not give me this artificial feeling. So, ultimately, it comes down to how a person uses the camera at their disposal. Here they are efficient but that's all.
PS I watched a couple more episodes with lower resolution 720p instead of 1080p and I am liking it so much more: the edges are gone and everything looks softer...
its pretty decent for my eyes. i luv the cinematography.
I am glad it works for you but it does not for me.
I don't know which camera they used but it must have been a digital one: the cinematography lacks depth, life and colour which is a recurring problem for the last 20 years. Most of the time I don't mind it: the majority of web series are low budget ones so nitpicking about cinematography is pointless. Though I must say that I have seen some beautiful short films and dramas made on a zero budget, filmed with an iPhone which looked a thousand times better than this one. Just saying....
But, as I said, I find the plot intriguing so maybe I'll get over my dislike of the cinematography as I watch it.
After one episode I am giving it 0/10 for cinematography: everything looks ugly, cold and artificial. Even the spicy scene looks awful. What did they film this with? But the plot is childish and interesting, plotting really well so I might continue watching it....just, my poor eyes!!!!
Thank you! I always try to keep them short and on point, i hate long reviews. No i didn't expect much, but i have…
I used to be like you : spending my every waking moment (when not working) watching dramas and sleeping very little. Until I reached an overload and suddenly could not watch anything anymore, only short films under 30min! Youtube is a great source for those so I went down that particular rabbit hole before circling back her, through lgbt short films,
The fandoms are not really inciting me to watch thai BLs: currently I prefer japanese and korean web dramas (sukfilm series are quite good for what they are i.e. low budget productions)!
Boun & Prem are one of my first bl drama crushes but I am drawing the line at vampire stories: they are so 20 years ago! lol
I always feel a bit suspicious when a series keeps getting such high ratings: I am a sceptic, nothing is perfect and I don't think that 10/10 reviews are really credible (because such hyped dramas usually turn out to be a disappointment for me)! So thank you for this sincere and cold headed review! It sounds like a good though slightly flawed watch! Just what I need!😃

Watch every BL? WOW, you are amazing! Sounds almost like a full time job 😅considering Thai bountiful production. Sometimes each week they seem to release more BLs than the week before! The sheer quantity is daunting and has actually the opposite effect on me: I do not watch them any more! Occasionally, when one stands out, I might take a look but so far, nothing much has really piqued my interest in over two years! Thai BL slump. But I love reading reviews particularly the negative ones: they are usually more sincere and actually point to flaws in a series instead of fawning over pretty leads as users do in the majority of 10/10 reviews.🤣🤣

Yes, it has flaws, and plot holes and annoyingly predictable and cliché characters, and it drags a bit and yet I was enjoying myself while watching!
So thank you again for being at the right place at the right time!🥰🥰
PS I love your short and to the point reviews! Keep them coming, please!
