i grew up in my country’s bible belt, so this series really touched me, felt eerily nostalgic, i’ve been there. i’ve always been quite noticably queer, and have felt alone and had a burdensome and looming feeling of being ”outside looking in” as a result, i tried to believe, i really tried, but it wasn’t for me. this series has brought me joy, has brought me to tears, has allowed me to process the impact the community i grew up in had on me. i was scared for a second that this would have a depressing ending, and maybe that would be ”realistic” or whatever, but a hopeful ending makes the most impact, i can’t begin to describe to you what a series like this would have meant for a young me, and i hope it can bring hope to those who are currenly where i was nearly fifteen years ago.

ok so, i'm 30 eps in, and honestly - i really didn't think i would be this hooked when i started my watch after putting it off for so long due to number of episodes and "bromance", and now i feel ridiculous for thinking that way. i have bought the novels, i am reading fanfiction by the hundreds and the theme song wuji might just end up being on the top of my most listened to tracks for 2025! i'm waiting to finish my read of the novels before i finish the drama, partly because i don't want it to end, and partly because i want to read the novel's ending first. i was kinda scared getting into something that ended so long ago, but i'm glad to see the fandom is alive and well, this is a masterpiece.

all i'm saying is that if someone looked at me the same way tada looks at armin i might just die right there on the spot
