By the way, sometimes I will start a costume drama but some of the acting will feel flat so I then go and re-watch Yuxiao in MJTY so that I get reminded how it is to be mesmerized by an actress's delivery of a character. lol

I love her so much! I've watched countless movies and shows (Asian ones and just as many or even more non Asian ones) but I've never cared for an actor on a deeper level but something about Yuxiao turned me into a fan the moment I discovered her as an actress and as a person. She is talent and light, I'm really excited for her upcoming projects and I can't wait to see even more people fall in love with our girl and become her fans.

The only time I wish Korean ent was like C-ent where they will cast the same main leads to a 2nd drama if the 1st is a hit. What I'm trying to say I'd love to see another drama with these 2 main leads as a couple with some other plot. Nway I'm fully content with the drama and how it ended. The most important point is when the actors are talented they can elevate a show from good to great! Were there plot holes? Probably. Did I care? One of the rare times I didn't.

Which drama is AOUAD?

I've read Duling is known as an actress with one of the clearest pronounciations too, so it only pisses me off more that the production would do such a criminal thing to an actress that can carry on her own her role and is the only one that can showcase the character as its supposed to sound. These production teams should be ashamed for this type of decisions. I'll try again with this show though.

Can someone tell me if Duling will use her own voice later on the show? If yes I might try to persevere the annoying younger voice version, if not I'll just have to sadly drop watching it.

Started the 1st episode and when I realized they gave Chen Duling that annoying girl dubbing voice I felt so annoyed. I don't care what you guys say. I think it's a crime the way they dub some of these actors voices with that same 5 female and male voice actors. The reason here being "it's only when she was young and Duling has a mature voice" like gtfo bc I'm sure Duling could easily make her voice fit the younger version of the character and also young girls can have lower pitch voices. Not all young girls have an annoying high pitch voice. Sorry for the rant. I'm sure others have said all this already. It's only that I'm really annoyed at some of these Chinese producers with their stereotypical thinking of what's supposed to be a cute young female voice.. Ruining such a good actress performance bc they mistakenly think she couldn't possibly do a younger version of the character.

Everything this drama will achieve in popularity was really bc of word of mouth. I love seeing good things spread! And it can happen bc people have that beautiful quality of wanting others to experience the same joy they have felt from something they truly liked! So nice!

The subtitles said "when I was adopted" though in one of the episodes. Of course it's mangotv subs. I don't know how accurate they are to what they actually say.

Lmao tbh I think I know the ages of the MLs. As you said the FL is probably 19 and the ML feels like 21. I think 19 bc ML's mom's friend group said their sons were 19 in one episode (they said I can't believe we already have kids that are 19). We also know why the leads need to take senior year. We don't know why the other 2 boys which are MLs besties still gave to take senior year.. Also the biggest confusion is SH and her younger brother who are the most difficult to guess. SH acts mid 20s, her brother speaks as if his 19/20 but everyone was pairing her with ML as if that's the thing that made sense. However I was like how old are you girl? She has graduated uni and worked in Benjing so shes OLDER older than the rest. But somehow the ML interacts with her as if they're close in age. I kind of think the script didn't care much about these details that's why it's confusing. lol

It's possible, but then again Canine who is the younger brother and calls XW ge aka older brother how old is he? 18? And how old was he when his sister opened for him that electronic devices fixing store? lol very confusing. They should have found a way to mention everyone's ages lol

BTW I'm thinking the simplest explanation is that they all grew up together so their ages don't matter that much I guess.

I'm a bit confused with the ages. Shu Han acts as middle 20s early 30s with her "I opened the store for my brother" but I don't think I've seen Xing Wu address her as jie. Then we have Xing Wu who is 20 or 21 with the 2 years off school but Qing Ye has only called him ge when she was drunk while he's clearly older than her? Then the other 2 guys are Qing Ye's age but they are XW's best friends? I'm assuming Shu Han is either the same age or one year older than XW even though the actress gives at least 5 years older than him with the way she behaves in the series. Anyways I'm probably overthinking this. Shu Han I guess they explain her behaving as a way older person with the fact she had to take care of her brother bc they were orphans. It's a bit confusing though. I'd better turn off my brain lol

One thing I've noticed on this show and it's true for all of us: one's life is full of goodbyes. As we grow up and we get older we learn to say goodbye to many people that we're close to. Whether it's death or just people going to live elsewhere this is one thing someone learns to accept as they age. So far it has been shown beautifully in this drama.

Question: on episode 29 and on previous episodes the younger director is shown holding a handkerchief on his nose when director Gu is besides him. What are they saying with this move? In what way is director Gu giving a bad odor? Bc he's an old person? Bc he smells or something? Did I miss something that explains this?

Yes I saw it's done great in China which is incredible bc shows like these deserve to be recognized. It's only sad that even though c-dramas internationally have a lot of viewers too, for some reason most of these people here only watch the idol dramas. Big sigh. This show is a solid 10 and I don't say this easily. It reminds me of one other cdrama I watched a couple of months ago that aired last year (The Guardians) which is for me the best Republic era drama that I've watched but it also doesn't even have 1k MDL viewers.. I can't stand the Republic idol dramas so shows that are treated seriously and are made with lots of dedication I truly love them.
