The female general here is not showing her physical strength but her strategy/plan. In later episodes, she's willing to be the bait, (she knew she'd die), so that the other team would win. She has sword kill but better known for her archery skill (she uses short-bow in battle - although the production didn't do much justice on the scenes, so don't put the blame on her. She doesn't even have a proper armour - blame it on production.) She is a female general who would use her womanly side to save Jin An later. The production has it's flaws but definitely not Song Yi's fault.
