Cell phone has been a big PPL in many versions of F4... Gorya's phone brakes... in Meteor Garden, Ah Si brakes…
Haha, that scene was perfect! It was just a quick cut to them surrounded by Samsung products joking about a bride price/dowry or whatever. A+ humor. Ridiculously good PPL.
Guys so has gorya now admitted to herself that she likes/maybe loves thyme? Or is thyme still chasing her with…
Thyme isn't pursuing Gorya to get her to like him. He knows she likes him. She knows she likes him. This was made pretty obvious in episode 7. More than anything, I think Thyme just wants to show her what kind of a person he is (or, is trying to be). He isn't pressuring her to do more than just count down to his birthday so he can celebrate the moment he gets older with her.
Just because she likes him doesn't mean that she's ready to be in a relationship with him, or that they even *should* be in a relationship together yet, and he's just trying to stay close to her and care for her while she figures her own life out.
She's admitted she cares for him but hasn't committed to being his girlfriend. She's still unsure.
I love this about the show. That Gorya isn't swayed into becoming Thyme's girlfriend just because he's pursuing her, or even because she likes him. Her life (as shown in this episode especially) is so so complicated and the idea that she should commit to a relationship when she doesn't even know what that would mean would be hard to watch.
I look forward to more deep discussions throughout the week, but for now I just want to talk about this PPL (product…
Contrast these scenes with Meteor Garden 2018....
Anyone remember the episode where Ah Si gifts Shancai a "Meteor Garden" add-on in the phone game they play? Or all the random trips to buy jewelry (was it Swarovski? I don't remember exactly).
I didn't even know what PPL was when I first watched MG and I can't really explain just how confused I was during these asides.... thinking like, why would you do this, show? what is the meaning here? pfft.

Wow wow wow. If I had a product to sell, I would ABSOLUTELY throw my money at these scriptwriters. I have never seen PPL done better, more naturally, with more purpose, and yet still containing a sufficient dose of meta-awareness to take a little of the sting of having an ad in my drama off.
Soda on yacht: Kavin and MJ bringing out champaign glasses and insisting on a toast to their friendship like big dorks? Too cute.
Mali on toast: Thyme showing up to feed Gorya over and over just melted me. Her family fed him his first meaningful meal, and now he keeps showing up gesturing how much he cares about her with food. Mali seems like a dessert to me, so I equated this with him making her a pop tart lol.
I wanna talk about the scene where Thyme confronts his mother about what she did to Gorya. It's an incredibly…
I think he also lost belief in her 'way', so she can't really touch him like she used to. This, to me, makes it incredibly believable that he would react to her the way he does (forthright, not fearful).
Yesssss!! I wish for that too. Specially MJ. Cz he is always side tracked in all other versions. I hope he gets…
Really? I would feel betrayed if they sidetracked his story with a nonsense romance tbh. He's my F4 bias and I want as many scenes with him as they'll give me, but no way should those scenes just be to tie a bow on a relationship. I'd MUCH rather get scenes with his family and their whole "ties to the underworld" thing.
Lol πππ me ,nervous and excited at same time ..it funny cause many of us arleady know sotry and what…
This family warms my heart. I love how the mom makes "rich boyfriend" jokes in the first episode to trick us into thinking she'll be like the other versions, then they give us a 180 with her. β€β€β€
Please, can we talk about Kaning and Kavin? Like, what are your predictions for their storyline and his backstory?…
Okay! Here's a thought I've been trying to form around the K+K storyline....
I'm trying to decide if I think the show is giving us glints of a less-than-good ending for them. Mostly, these thoughts are coming from a foreboding feeling I have, not much else. But I wonder if anyone else feels similarly?
When I try to think about where these feelings are coming from, I think it stems from Kavin telling Kaning that he's the guy who usually leaves girls crying. We also watch him basically pull that move on the girl with Tesla too. It's suave as hell, and it's in Kaning's favor so we like him for it, but it's a mean move.
It is such a fantasy to be the girl who breaks through to a guy like that (and, to be honest, they've done such a good job making Kaning cool enough that I believe she could), but they also keep showing us who Kavin is, and it makes me wonder if they're trying to let us know in advance... no, for real, this actually is what Kavin is like, don't expect him to be like Thyme.

Thyme totally wrote "sorrie" intentionally. How freaking cute
What a welcome twist if they go for it!

Maybe my foreboding feeling should really just be readjusted. It's easy to see it as why they aren't right for each other *right now* versus the end.
