this is my second political costume drama and i dont usually watch but this one actually kept me to watch whole episode , there are no boring scenes and every second if yu skip feels yu are out of plot ...but zhou yiran screen time is too less i feel ssad for that
Can someone brief me a little what this is about? I’m a romance enjoyer and absolutely loved Dylan wang in love…
In his first life, Dylan Wang's character (Song Qianji) started from the absolute bottom. He was a rogue cultivator born with ruined spiritual roots, meaning everyone looked down on him. To survive and avoid being trampled, he had to be completely ruthless. He risked his life repeatedly—braving deadly ancient tombs and secret realms—and miraculously fought his way up to become one of the most powerful cultivators in the world. When a literal apocalypse loomed over the world, he scoured ancient texts and fought to find a treasure that could save everyone. But nobody believed his warnings. Worse, on the final battlefield, his own beloved betrayed him. Cornered, hopeless, and deeply hurt, he chose to self-destruct and died right there. When he wakes up reborn in a new life with all his memories intact, he is completely disillusioned. He realizes his past obsession with fighting and cultivating got him nothing but exhaustion and heartbreak.
He vows to live as a "salted fish" (a Chinese slang term for a slacker with zero ambition) and just wants to "lie flat," farm peacefully, and enjoy a quiet life. Ironically, all the rare cultivation opportunities and treasures he had to bleed for in his past life now just land in his lap uninvited. He actively rejects prestigious sects, refuses to become a disciple of legendary masters, and cuts all ties with the person who betrayed him before. He genuinely tries to stay out of trouble, but the world won't let him. The immortal sects start heavily exploiting and abusing the mortal people, and the magical "Heaven-Pillar Tree" that sustains the world begins to wither.Even though he wants to be lazy, his core sense of justice won't allow him to watch innocent people get slaughtered. On top of that, he gathers a new group of fiercely loyal, true friends who are willing to go through life and death with him. To protect his new companions and the innocent, he reluctantly picks up his sword again. He is forced to outsmart the corrupt sects who are trying to control him, return to the brutal path of cultivation, and face terrifying heavenly trials to save the world a second time—but this time, he isn't alone
"Light to the Night" isn't a drama for everyone — and that's exactly why it broke me. There are no flashy gunfights, no over-the-top villains twirling mustaches, no cheap action to distract you. Instead, it shows how one wrong decision can quietly unravel your entire life over 18 painful years. This drama is for people who love story over shooting — who want to feel real human weight rather than just watch explosions. Dylan Wang gave his absolute peak performance here, carrying exhaustion and obsession in his eyes without saying a word. The ending left me in tears because there was no one to blame — just time, regret, and haunting silence. for those who found it, it became a wound we carry. Down to earth. Painfully real. Beautifully devastating. This one stays with you long after the screen goes dark.
I guess it depends on why, what, or who you're watching the show for. I thought Season 5 was great. Zhou Yiran…
Did you watch season 2 and season 3 ..they were soo good and iam not saying season 5 was bad ..ouyang didi and zhou yiran were good but the vibe in season 2 and 3 were different..near the sea. Was soo cool
