Not gonna lie, when everyone was yelling at Earn thinking that Rampeung is possessing her body I thought the same and that Rampeung was really putting up an act in her body. But I was pleasantly surprised at the plot twist that it was really Earn herself and Rampeung was the one that saved Earn + knocked some sense into Earn to save the baby. I loved this added scene that they put in the series as this wasn’t in the novel at all. Loved that they showed Rampeung wasn’t truly evil, it was just all for revenge and her grievances that made her do what she did.

Jet is such a magnet for good gossip, always in the right place at the right time. Also, it's crazy how alike…
YES casting directors did so well for their past life and younger parts. Side note: Charn’s past life actress looks a little bit like Milk from GMMTV, as I the only one seeing it? 🙇🏻‍♀️

Can someone please explain me the backstory that happened at the start of the ep I don really remember the names…
Basically the start of Episode 6 shows us a glimpse of Peem’s family flashback.

His mother was sick due to Peem’s grandfather practising Black magic (it had sort of a negative backlash on his family) and passed on when he was younger. After the mom passed, one day Peem’s dad and grandfather were confronting and fighting with each other and Peem accidentally heard it.

Peem’s dad basically blames the grandfather (his own dad) for causing all the mishaps in their lives, Peem’s mother death and including the debt he got when he failed his investment with one of the village Elders (I believe it is Elder Chang who appeared later in the episode, he is Prim and Pong’s father).

The grandfather of course feels guilty about the backlash and most likely got Peem to practise Shamanism to help the family (this is my guess), especially since Peem has white magic. Peem’s dad also kind of made a deal/ plan with that Elder Chang to get Peem to marry his daughter to offset the debt.

So after Peem hearing the fight and learning the truth that it was black magic that really caused his mother’s illness and the deal/plan that his dad made by marrying him off to his creditor, he felt like both of them were just using him for their own reasons and didn’t feel valued as a person and as a son.

Fast forward to a few years later, the scene where his grandfather was cutting Peem’s hair (probably because he was getting ordained) we learnt that Peem’s dad fled to US to escape the debt, leaving Peem’s grandfather and basically Peem as well to payback the debt (which is why Elder Chang has frequent visits to Peem as seen in the series). Peem’s grandfather apologies for everything that led up to this situation and told Peem if he wanted to live his own life (not following him to practising Shamanism) he could do so. And Peem replied by saying that is the reason why he is currently choosing to ordain, so that he can find out if he was meant to follow this path and if he truly reasonated with it or not. Which we all know it ultimately did, leading up to the present :)

Yes exactly. I liked Episode 6 where they showed a glimpse of Jet & Charn's past life together, and that it was Charn who saw the past. Otherwise when the time comes for Jet & Charn to have feelings for each other, it would have been weird to me as it came out of nowhere (especially if i wasn't a fan of the novel and didn't read it before watching this series).

I like the adjustments they are making compared to the book. It makes more sense.
YES, especially with Jet and Charn's relationship and their past life. They gave us more insights.

I really enjoyed this episode and how the women have some of the most powerful magic in the village. That arc…
Can't forget that this episode we got to see more insights on Jet & Charn's past life connection. Love that they added this into the series compared to the novel which didn't touch much on their relationship journey.

The series builds up on the seriousness in my opinion. The first few episodes 1-3 are more lighthearted in the sense that there is more dark humour to let viewers be introduced to the ‘abuse’, episode 4 will be the touching scenes, and episode 5-6 is when shit goes down bad, concequences are shown & the seriousness level skyrockets. trust me, push through the first 3 episodes, you are only scratching the surface 🥹

Okay, I'm a very slow learner and haven't started watching yet.Can someone walk me step-by-step through the interconnection…
For Season 2, An Su Ho won’t be the main focus with MML Si Eun. This season will be the continuation of the events that happened in Season 1, and how MML copes + overcomes his struggles. Maybe Season 3 might have An Su Ho join in the new friend group of Season 2.

Didn’t really like how there wasn’t a smooth introduction to the characters in just the 1st EP. I get that…
Not to mention the way it was filmed sometimes feels abit lacking. Like some moments where I think would have been good to get a close up shot of the character’s feeling, they just ignored it (their faces were literally not facing the camera). So that adds on to the ‘lack of connection with the characters’ I was talking about.

After watching 19 episodes i still stand by my comment from earlier episodes that this is a romance (& comedy)…
Ngl from the trailers I expected this drama to go towards the more intense revenge route with romance being the 2nd plot (which I wouldn’t mind), but I’m so pleasantly surprised and happy that it was not the case 😮‍💨
