Like a refreshing lemonade in the Summer

My very first review! Watched this with a bit of prejudice as age-gap romance was there. But I'm glad I did.
Instead of rushing into everything, the writer gives us a slow-burn romance that is both logically and dramatically appealing.
Happy to see both the Male and Female leads having strong personalities. Entire cast gave their best performance. Everything fit perfectly and we have a closure after completing this series.
Thanks to the entire team of Melancholia for this treat. Would re-watch again in the future.

A drama for our souls

Laughed, Cried (a lot) and the whole drama gave a warm closure.
One of the best drama of JCW. He aced this role. His versatility in character/drama selection is awesome.

The whole premise of fulfilling the last wish of terminally ill patients' is refreshing and the story doesn't shy away from dark topics which is commendable.
The scenes with the dog were adorable and rewarding.

The things I felt, could have improved a bit were, the spark between the main couple and the number of episodes could have been around 12.

In short, a heart-warming 16 hours from JCW to binge on.

Quality Dark fiction which tickles our binge watching genes

Due to the plethora of shows with 'fiction' tag thrown at us, it is nearly impossible to actually find one that we would enjoy and re-watch later. This is one of them.

What hooked me to this series was the overall storyline and how events unfolded keeping the suspense till the last episode, with a perfect ending, giving the viewers full closure. The actors have done a fabulous job especially the villain in giving life to their respective characters'. OST was well balanced to the plot and moments.
Even with 16 episodes this one tickles our binge watching genes.

Overall a great drama to invest our 16 hours in.

JCW back with an action packed neo-noir series

The story, acting, cast, bgms, cinematography, action choreography were awesome. They delivered more than what I had expected. Would like to see JCW in action and romcom series more often.
The story thread goes something like this: Set in Seoul in the 1990s, a former DJ starts selling a new powerful drug nicknamed "Gangnam Crystal" in city nightclubs after mastering a gangster organization. Since the police know little about the origin of such drugs, in order to crack down on this rampant drug trafficking organization, rural police officer Park Jun Mu is assigned to sneak into the organization, only to discover that his wife, Yoo Eui Jung , also a detective, has volunteered to participate in this dangerous mission and seems to have an unspeakable past with the heinous underground drug king. Park Jun Mu in this drug-related mission, not only does he wholeheartedly fight the drug cartel, but also works hard to protect his wife's safety at all times.

Well, overall this was a gem of a find

An epic tale of magic and mystery from South Korea

Have you ever had the feeling that something was going to be great just after watching the first couple of minutes of the very first episode of a drama. Well this one was such a drama for me. A new Classic and a Masterpiece.

Before coming to the main point, let me first thank the staff for their hard-work in bringing this mesmerizing historical-fantasy-art to us.

The story with its magical-fantasy-historical setting was a breath of fresh air from the multitude of kdramas coming out every year. Never did the story disappoint us by making us comfortable. Just when we think that there won't be any major twists, the writers comes up with lots of them, which worked really well.
The story does not dwell on a particular theme for long. Action, comedy, sadness, happiness, politics... everything had a good arrangement in the entire plot.
The actors have done a great job especially the main cast.

The scenery and art were on a different level. The OSTs were spot on. The action was exhilarating, not to mention the magical sword fights.

The journey of the assassin Naksu and her pupil Jang Uk was a complete entertainment package for me.
Enjoyed it the fullest.

Can't wait for season 2.

Could have been far better!

The story of a dark hero leading a dual life fighting for justice has always been a popular one. Most of us have grown up watching the likes of Batman. Now we are presented with a Korean webtoon adaptation of the dark hero character called Vigilante who fights crime in the shadows and doesn't mind to kill.
But the story doesn't seem much appeasing as the events could be predicted pretty easily from the early parts of the story. The life of the connected characters' and how they ended up where they were at that point in time should've been better flushed out. Instead all we get is just simple brooding MC and his vigilantism activities. But the funny thing is that the MC doesn't even bother covering his face in a well CCTV connected country like South Korea and he gets away with it every time.
Hope the next season, if it happens, have a decent storyline and better flushed out characters.
Here hoping and even with all its faults I have to admit this really was a good one time watch.

The veracious Art of Revenge

"Doctor Prisoner", the intriguing title itself tells us a little about what we should expect, but this one administers shot by shot of Excitement till the end.

One of the best written revenge drama that I've seen. When I'd stumbled upon his title, I wondered how they would drive the series with the 16 long episodes without reducing the essence of revenge and excitement. But never once did I get bored, and actually binged the entire episodes within 2 days.

The plot about a wronged doctor and his fight against those that far outclassed himself, using their own strength and weaknesses, worked really well. The Cinematography, Editing and OSTs were top notch.

The leads, Namkoong Min [Na Ji Yae] and Choi Won Young [Lee Jae Joon] weren't acting, infact they lived as their characters. That's how well they've performed.
Because for a storyline like this, if both the opposing forces aren't balanced enough, it would get uninteresting. But they were like tit -for-tat, an eye for an eye, kind of people. They carried the show basically.
The ex-prison director character [Sun Min Shik] was also handled by a capable actor Kim Byung Chul. I especially liked the character growth of the Lee Jae Hwan [Taegang Group's second son].

Well for a great show like this, it deserves a second season. Guess what! It does have a planned second season, though we could've guessed it with the cliff-hanger they gave us.

Eagerly awaits the second season, like an addict.

Tell me....Do u believe in Magic?.......

What to say about this wonderful masterpiece by JCW and others which explores the borderline nuances between Magic and Reality? It's a must watch... that is my answer.

The storyline fitted different aspects existing in current society, and added that special charm of magic and JCW into it, and what we get is this 6 hours long enchanting specimen about 'finding ourselves and being happy with our choices'.
"Flowers doesn't bloom on smooth asphalt but on bumpy dirt" is an apt summary of what this series tries to deliver.

The VFX was magical and OSTs were captivating.
This one has set the bar high for future musical fantasy concepts in kdrama
Definitely bingeable and a good addition to our rewatch list.
Also, I've to say out of all his dramas, JCW looks his best in this one .

Annara...sumanara..!

Insurance crime drama with the right amount of everything

To be honest I jumped into this with bit of prejudice that I would not make it past three episodes. Well man.. was I wrong!! and am glad I was.

The plot progression was smooth and kept the excitement going till the last episodes. The characters were well written. Here we can find a villain/villains who can think better or on par with the leads. I found this to be more realistic than other crime thrillers that I've watched recently, since the ball wasn't with any one of the sides for long.

Another major plus for me was the romance aspect of this show. The characters weren't forced into a relationship and lots of screen time were not wasted on clichés. What we get is short and sweet version that is much more appealing.

Definitely, a re-watchable drama.

Curiosity 'almost' killed the cat

- This is what comes to mind when I think about the female lead of this drama, though a badass through and through.
The way the healthy relationship of the lead couple is portrayed is pragmatic and sweet.

Slow-burn romance, talented cast and gripping storyline are the plus points of this survival thriller. I really liked how the infected switched between their normal selves and the infected ones.
Kudos to the writer and director, for putting together different shades and executing them perfectly.

Who knows? maybe this kind of drama foreshadows what might be waiting for us in our near future. ;)
PS: now I'm scared of taking any pill for sometime.
