It is a really good ph historical drama! The leads (Barbie and David) of MSKM 2023 were both part of this drama. Barbie and David's chemistry really stood out in "Maria Clara at Ibarra". If you want to see them in a romcom, angsty, and slowburn trope, you will surely like "Maria Clara at Ibarra".

Similarities:

- FL has a passion for their sport
- FL struggles during the process (training & academics), therefore ML helps
-ML is some sort of sports god/prince
- ML is smart

Differences:

- In SIL, the ML and Fl are childhood friends
- In JD it focuses on dance as a sport while SIL focuses on hockey, speed skating, and figure skating.

2nd season of colour rush

Choi Yeon Woo is a high school student and a “mono” – a person who sees the world only in a dull and lifeless black and white. But for every mono, there is a “probe” – a kind of soulmate who allows the mono to see the world in vivid color. Yeon Woo’s probe was a boy named Yoo Han, and the two developed a beautiful friendship that blossomed into romance. Both movies were made in the 2000s and have a unique direction style. Theyre tragic comedies that focus on love and relationships, primarily the downs while sprinkling in some quirky humor or musical scenes here and there.

Similar base concept. In HomeCha, the FL comes to Gongjin Village to work and there, she has to live and adapt to the village community and culture. She initially dislikes the village community but she falls in love with the village hero.

Here, the ML is heartbroken and goes back to his hometown and is forced to work in the farm. His childhood best friend is the FL.

Both are romcom and slice-of-life.

Both dramas involve solving cases and star the same Female Lead: Zheng Ming aka Ming Zi YI.

In Royal Rumors, the FL is skilled in kung fu but she intentionally hides it and acts sick.
She encounters the ML who is actually the crown prince and they work together.
What I liked about the drama is that the FL is not a damsel in distress and she is very capable of turning the tides to her advantage. The political climb to the throne does not play a key role and the brothers share a strong bond.

Warm on a Cold night features interspecies romance between the leads. The Qi race live in the North and have a heightened five-senses compared to the regular Qian race which are typical humans. The Qi lose their vitality stone and would behave erratically without it. The ML is the prince of Qi while the FL is an Inspector from the Qian Kingdom. The 2ML is the carefree second prince of Qian. Together they unravel the mysteries surrounding a Qi Nursery Rhyme and paintings depicted to kill people.

One of the leads is the owner/chef and has a quiet, more withdrawn personality, and the other lead who has a bright, more outgoing personality meets the other lead and begins helping/hanging out in the restaurant.
