Chihiro is depressed and obsessed with his own mortality. Him and his wife, Yuri, decide to take a trip to Bali, Indonesia to see his pregnant sister, Kumi. They hope the trip can bring about change.

Takashi is a psychiatrist who has shut down emotionally after his wife's death, and Ayako is his patient. They plunge into a torrid love affair that helps the love-starved Ayako and provides solace to Takashi. However, their love becomes riddled with jealousy and possessiveness.

Both have mc that is not originally teacher, become a teacher, and both guide students to become the best. Dragon Zakura focus in academic, the mc guide failing student to get into university. While Yowakutemo Katemasu focus on sport where mc guide students from elite school which has been known only good academically but not in baseball to win in a competition. Also, I think both have kinda same vibe methods of learning? While Dragon Zakura try to make studying fun, Yowakutemo Katemasu try to relate baseball with subjects that they learn to make the smart students understand. Both mc also has kinda same personality. Strict and always said harsh but beautiful word to the students.

So these are completely different genres; Octogenarians isn’t even a romance to begin with. But the warm atmosphere, healing qualities and the stories of different elders depicted reminded me of each other. Also Guo San Shuang is a dead ringer for Hong Du Shik, which should count for something.

- Her love interest is a rich lord instead of a prince though.
- Their relationship is an enemies to lovers, just like in this drama.
- Strong female leads and characters are very adamant in this drama.
- I love it because, in both stories, the women are sassy and courageous.

Both are mini dramas with a historical setting with the FL as the emperor/queen and the ML her consort. Both FLs are initially cold/antagonist toward the ML who appears to have many secrets.
