Before The Untamed, my first ancient Chinese drama was Handsome Siblings. Going into The Untamed, I notice that the dynamic of soulmates Wei Wuxian and Lan Wangji were very much alike to the brotherhood of Jiang Xiaoyu and Hua Wuque. The red and blue, black and white relationship, I like to call it. There are vast diffferences in the dramas, but that same plot of discovery, connection, and love (in different ways...) are portrayed in the two dramas.

The Untamed is an ancient xianxia drama, which is much more fantasy related with talismans and stuff. Handsome Siblings on the other hand is an ancient wuxia, but both dramas share similar plotlines of "who is the real villain", and finding out how a little bit of dependency on each other is important. The characters are all charismatic in their own ways, but as mentioned before, a similar dynamic is present. I enjoyed both very much, so I hope this is helpful!

They both have a fantasy and supernatural aspect. One has a messenger from the gods and the other is an angle. Both fall in love with a human.

Both of them are adult comedy. If you liked the former you would obviously love the later.

Both movies explore messed up same-sex relationships that hurt each other psychologically and physically but can't seem to leave each other either.

A similar twisted tale of how people are caught in the situation and have to continue to commit crimes to survive. No matter how far they run, they always get caught up by the law. Dark, twisted and unpredictable.

Both are set in school and feature a leaked sex tape (consent is dubious), bullying, ostracism, school administrators who fail to help their students, and students who take investigation and justice into their own hands. Both also had a very realistic approach to this topic.

To me, they have the same heart pounding pure feeling associated with each other. The relationships are also about a colder more distant guy and someone who’s desperately in love with him. I’ve only felt this sweetness overload from two dramas, these two.

Both are sci-fi stories with Park Shin Hye as female lead, with MotA being about augmented reality gaming (that is perhaps a bit too realistic), and Sisyphus being about time travel. In both shows, the ML is a rich CEO of a tech company, who initially seem rather obnoxious and somewhat rude. Their career paths also take a turn due to similar reasons. In both shows, it kind of feels like they’re fighting a battle they can’t win, no matter how much they try. Both have some moments with a lot of CGI, as well as fighting scenes. Also, both have some very unrealistic idea about programming, lol. There are some other scenes in the final episode where the shows reminded me of each other as well, however, those would be some heavy spoilers so I will not go into it.

about human experimentation. also about the police and investigation. the human experiment gets discovered during an investigation. a lot of the characters die randomly and unexpectedly. a lot of twists and turns and the bad guy isn`t who you expect.

Both have a similar story about a divorcee mother who are raising there teenage daughters. Until they get raped by boys/men who tricked them. Their only way for justice is to take the crime into their own hands.
