Also, both depict the consequences of prejudice and pressure against the homosexual community while beautifully capturing the raw essence of Taiwan.

The Mystic Nine are the ancestors of the characters in this story who formed the nine family consortium of tomb raiders. In this drama the current generation of tomb raiders are searching for and seeking answers about a lost expedition of missing people, which contained a previous generation of mystic nine family members. When they reference the elders/masters and Grand Buddha, they are referring to the family heads of the Mystic Nine.
It is the prequel to the Lost Tomb and second drama of the entire series.

Both heartwarming stories of a male lead living alone who overcome loneliness with the help of a feline friend.

Similar backstory for the go and ml. They help each other get over their shared pain. Same story as my queen, witch’s romance is the remake of it.

The fl and ml both have similar backstories in both dramas, and together they help one another to get over the others pain.

Misunderstanding leads to revenge plot. ML misundertands the intention of FL which leads to heavy resentment and clashing when they both in fact have romantic feelings for the other.

When I first watched Mei-chan no Shitsuji I immediately thought of Atashinchi no Danshi. The main charachter of both drama's are poor, but then they discover that they came from a rich family. They have the same vibes, and the story is quite different, but the same.

The two male leads are lowkey flirting with each other every episode and I love every moment of it!! Wen Kexing is a definition of a shameless flirty character.
I read someone's comment on YouTube which said "The flirtation between them transcends any language barrier"
That's so true, I can't XD I don' t even know how this drama passed the censorship, and I'm not even complaining kekeke
I think, this gonna be the next "The Untamed"

It is another one of the few Korean GL's and GL stories in general. For viewers looking for more shows of this genre; this is a good one to watch.

-The female leads in both films remind me of eachother. They're both extremely loyal, and don't hesitate to take action or make sacrifices for the male lead(s). They also both get mistreated in someway.
