Both shows are lovable feel good romantic comedies that most people will want to watch again and again. Though 30b17 doesn't have any evil characters, just very tough traumatic circumstances that the main couple have to overcome. Both have male leads who suffer from PTSD due to a traumatic accident that they blame themselves for. Both couples are connected through a childhood accident but meet unaware of this fact as adults. Both male leads are perceived by everyone around them as odd, antisocial and harsh, but eventually they learn to soften their behavior due to their love for the plucky female leads. Both female leads are orphans who have to go through a lot of hardships because they are alone in the world without family support and end up creating a new family with the men they meet. I love Shin Hye Sun as much as I love Ha Ji Won as an actress. Though Ha Ji Won has had many more shows where she's the lead, Shin Hye Sun makes me root for her the same way Ha Ji Won does and I end up looking for other shows of hers to watch in the same way.
Both dramas portray gang wars and in both the main character is played by Kim Moo Yul.
Outstanding music and filming create a dark mood and the gangster world in both dramas is presented very suggestively.

Both are funny and entertaining comedy-action movies, with a wonderful chemistry between main leads. Both have Sung Dong Il in their cast. Highly recommended for a Sunday afternoon leisure time!
It is the 2nd instalment to the Girls x Heroine series. They both start with 3 members but later end up with 5 as the series goes on, each character has magic powers and can transform. There are mascots who help support the girls as well as a mentor-like figure. Both series have an idol group that provide the opening and ending themes.
In both movies the heroine travel to the past and found herself as someone already living in that era.
Bothe movies have the concept that someone from present and past can connect with each other.
Even though the genres of the two movies totally different.

Both are light, funny romantic comedies with moments that will pull at your heartstrings and make you cry. The male leads are outwardly cold but are secretly softies inside. Both female leads are very naive for their chronological ages because Mi Nyeo from YB grew up in a nunnery and Seo Ri from 30b17 devoted most of her childhood to playing the violin before falling into a coma when she was seventeen years old for thirteen years due to an accident. Both stories revolve around music, Kpop for YB and classical music for 30b17, both in their own ways make both genres of music sound really enjoyable. Both stories involve the couples falling in love while living together and both stories involve the leads looking for very important missing relatives. Both OSTs are great. Both shows will make you laugh, cry and root for the lovable characters.
Both are two of the cutest romantic comedies out there. Both have swoony male leads who start out as cold but warm up to be the most adorable BFs ever. Both have hilarious female leads who do physical comedy really well. Both will make you LOL and both couples have amazing chemistry though 30b17 couple is much more innocent due to their emotional ages. Funny coincidence, both female leads also acted together in Legend of the Blue Sea when Shin Hye Sun was still a second lead actress.
For those who love Shin Hye Sun and loved her character and acting in Stranger/Secret Forest and would like to see more of her work and be amazed by her acting range.
They are both romantic comedies with very sympathetic female leads who have to go through a lot of hardships to achieve their dreams. 30b17 is much lighter and is more comedic in tone and though the main male lead is also not very nice to the female lead at first, it was more coldness than the bullying that occurred in BOF. Both have great looking swoony male leads who start out as harsh and cold and eventually warm up due to the lovable and plucky female leads. Both have very caring second male leads who are always there for the female lead characters and were basically her first friends in the new world she found herself in. Both first and second male leads have very close relationships that get tested because they fell in love with the same girl though in BOF they both knew of their rivalry, in 30b17 only one guy knew that he was in a love triangle but both second leads had a moment of having to choose between their love for the girl or the guy.
Both Shows:
- Directed by the same PD.
- Have great life lessons and powerful messages.
- Great OSTs and wonderful love stories with great humor and heart.
- Both couples are very cute with great chemistry
- Both couples are connected through a childhood traumas/accidents

Both are my two favorite romantic comedies of all time with amazing acting, OSTs and love stories. Both are very touching heartwarming love stories about male leads with PTSD who push others away due to their fears of getting hurt again. In Woo Jin's case from 30b17 he thinks it's that he's afraid of hurting others again, but both are very mistaken about their traumatic incidents which the female leads help them to realize. Both female leads in their own ways haven't been able to live up to their brilliant younger selves due to life altering accidents and both shows are about how both couples help each other find the courage to live and love again. Shin Hye Sun is in my top 5 favorite actresses right up there with Gong Hyo Jin though Shin Hye Sun has only recently started getting leading roles. They are both so lovable as people and so talented as actresses. They both make me cry buckets of tears and laugh ridiculously loud and feel amazed by their talents both comedically and emotionally. They both become their characters so seamlessly that I can't wait to watch their next shows.
Both are written by the same writer with similar genre of romantic comedy. Both have Shin Hye Sun in it which show how amazingly far she's come from being a support character in one show and the main lead in the other. Also it shows her range as both characters could not be more different. Both male leads have PTSD that often interfere with their lives and the love of someone from their childhood who they didn't recognize initially brings them both out of their hard shells to help them return to who they were when they were younger. Both shows have great moments of Womance though in 30b17 the women are not love rivals. Both have a lot of humor and heart.
Both shows have very memorable characters and love stories with amazing acting. Both shows have hilariously quirky characters who are housemates, male leads with severe PTSD who find healing through his housemates and especially the female leads. Both couples have amazing chemistry in their own way though IOTL is much more mature and 30b17 is much more innocent due to their emotional ages. Both shows openly talk about going to seek psychiatric help which is very tabooed or rarely shown or talked about in Korean or Asian shows at the time of their airing.
Both shows are about a male leads debilitated by a traumatic incident where they blame themselves for what they think is the death of someone very important to them when they were younger. Both men developed severe mental disorders due to their guilt and it takes over their lives. Both female leads from both stories enter these men's lives to help them heal from their past traumas and help them overcome their guilt and see the past for what it truly was instead of what they have been thinking it was all this time. Both stories have a lot of humor and heart and have a great romantic story. Though HMKM is much more drama than comedy and 30b17 is much lighter and more comedic. Both male leads get help from a psychiatrist for their mental disorders which is very rarely shown in Korean or Asian dramas at the time of the shows' airing.
