Supernatural plot / plot driver. Good actors. Promising start for Leap Day. Guaranteed a good series - especially the second half - from Peaceful Property.

Note that Leap Day doesn't seem to include BL, Peaceful Property, while stopping just shy of actual BL, did include a lot of pretty explicit innuendos.

Similar opening episode - a mystery and a curse/supernatural plot device/driver. Good cast. Interesting hook.

A main difference though: Leap Day isn't a BL (or it doesn't look to be, from episode 1). So don't expect any (maybe bromance).

They both have the same timeline (in The past), they both talk about family and life, but Reply 1988 is more about friends and youth life, and When life gives you tangerine is more about family and mature life with lots of morals.
They both have the same vibe.
Strongly recommend it

In this drama the FL treats the ML as her step brother. ML attentive towards FL and helps her in her studies. They end up falling for each other though they used to treat each other as step siblings.
I love this drama so much>>>> and this is the only drama that made me fall into tears.

These dramas feel like someone gave two different script writers the same prompt. Different takes on the same concept.

Both dramas are historical and follow a female lead's face and identity being stolen by another woman early on.
Both dramas have a female lead who's original identity is working a less-than-respectable trade and a male lead with a much higher social standing.
Both dramas have the female lead struggling with peoples negative perceptions of her new identity.
Both dramas have a male lead who is able recognize the female lead's real self despite her new face.
Both dramas have background political scheming going on, with our leads essentially being in danger of becoming collateral damage.

For differences, Familiar Stranger is a fast-paced short drama vs In Blossom's slow building long form drama.

In Familiar Stranger, the face stealing leads to the female lead substituting into the second female leads unwanted marriage, vs In Blossom where the second female lead wanted to steal the marriage.

In Familiar Stranger the two leads haven't met recently but are both in love from the start, vs In Blossom where they have reunited recently but only the male lead is in love.

In Familiar Stranger the face swap seems to be some sort of low-magic surgical face replacement but it's just the face and both ladies retain their own bodies, vs In Blossom which seems to be more like some kind of high-magic soul transplant that fully body swaps them.

In Familiar Stranger the female lead is concealing her identity due to a mix of blackmail and a lack of proof, vs In Blossom where the female lead (with reason) is afraid of the male lead.

In Familiar Stranger once the male lead recognizes the female lead he's all-in on staying a couple with her, vs In Blossom where once the male lead recognizes the female lead he spends a fair bit of time trying to do the noble idiot 'I'll stay away from you for your own safety'

Some of the things I enjoyed in both including familiar characters:
-The warrior - both dramas have a silent type warrior/bodyguard that stole the show
-Crown Prince has a sister and they have a romance - very different scenarios but the character is there
-Crown Prince' Eunuch has a similar character and relationship with the Crown Prince into both dramas - I loved it.
-The Crown Prince - both dramas have a crown prince/king who falls hard and has to fight to hold on to the one they love
-the politics
-METS is darker and has other fantasy elements while i always thought of LITM as a lighter version of a similar story

- ML brother is in love with the FL
- ML pay FL to marry him so that the ML brother can forget about her and marry the choosen person for the ML Brother
-ML & FL hate each other at first but fall in love at the end.

Each are wlw dating shows!

Compared to To Get Her, Heroine is a Taiwanese production that's a little bit more independently produced, but if you're looking for more queer dating shows, you should check both of them out!

Similarities between the 2 dramas:
- storyline happens in a village/countryside (both the workplace and housing)
- one lead works at the headquarter at seoul and visits the village temporarily to lead the business (+ formerly worked at the special force)
- another lead has already settled + worked at the village
- they end up working together under the same company
- work alongside with kind but unhinged local people and ahjummas
- revolve around a theme of food (potato vs beer)
