ML (adult) returns to high school and meets the FL who has some connection to his past again. FL is a contract teacher trying to get a full time position. The school leaders are corrupt in some way/shape that has to do with separating kids by academics and elitism. ML also has a younger relative who is also in the school, and both have side characters who struggle with the pressure put on them by over bearing parents. Together the ML and FL must work to take down the corruption and keep kids safe.

These two are both Filipino highschool Romcom youth drama with friendship.
One lead in both has a "hidden agenda" of making the other fall for them but end up in love too.
FL and ML in both are rich and not poor.
Rabin plays a similar character of "nonchalant" with little to no expression.
Ethan and Rafa play as couples.

Both stories revolve around a woman who pretends to be someone else, entering a powerful family with hidden secrets and dangers. The male leads start cold and suspicious but slowly fall deeply in love, creating strong chemistry and emotional scenes.

Both dramas feature identity deception, chaebol families, and a contract relationship turning into real love. Mask is darker and more melodramatic, while Bride of the Century adds a supernatural twist with a family curse, but the emotional core and slow-burn romance feel very similar.

In both Mask and Bride of the Century, the female leads are ordinary women who step into someone else’s life and face danger, secrets, and betrayal. Watching them navigate lies and find true love is satisfying and emotional. Both shows keep you hooked with plot twists and character development.

Both are BL hidden gems, where action takes place in the nature. I especially liked Country Boy 2, so I would recommend everyone to watch both seasons.

The events of the film take place in the countryside. The nature is beautiful; the guys are precious.
As someone said in their review: "Local country gays breaking free from Brokeback Mountain story trope".

Guardians of the Dafeng is like the much more polished version of this ML trope. It's not set in a cultivation world but more wuxia/politics. Both MLs are snarky and use their other-world knowledge to help better their situations.

Guardians has much more politics and slower progression of ML ability but still quite fast-paced. They both have cheats. They both have supporters, although Be Yourself ML is more harem-style so his all are women. I think the only male that helped him sincerely was his father (beyond his friends from his first life).
