I was compelled to watch this movie because the concept is so original and interesting. Can you fall in love with someone whose physiscal appearance changes everyday? Or: can you truly fall in love with their inner beauty? I thought the idea was amazing and the movie fulfilled my intital expectations in answering those two questions.

That being said, The Beauty Inside raises way more interesting questions (like the value of having your own physical appearance and how we identify as "ourselves" using our face, how people can treat us differently depending on what we look like, etc...) but it doesn't really treat them. I would have liked going a little deeper with the concept, but the movie really focuses on the "love" part. Of course, the format has its limits (it's already 2 hours long) and not all subjects can be treated in just one movie, but it was a little frustrating in my opinion.

The cast for Woo Jin did a very good job at portraying a consistent character, it was easy to believe that all these faces are the same person.
I am not a huge fan of Han Hyo Joo but I thought she did a good job with her character, especially knowing that the struggle she goes through cannot be something relatable and she must have relied on her imagination a lot to understand and portray Yi Soo's feelings.

The movie is certainly an interesting watch with a lovely and moving story, that can make you laugh, tear up and think :)

The storyline is so good and depicted smoothly

First I had no expectations then as time passed away, the movie got better. It was emotional at some points where I cried too. The actors had done pretty well job portraying the characters especially Woo Jin. The actress is my personal favourite and I liked her here too. It wasn't confusing anytime like I'd first thought by reading the synopsis. Was just accepting a cure to this at the end of the story but the twist was good if not best. A movie we can watch with family. Will definitely re-watch it after sometime.

Heartwarming but...

I felt like the first half was a lot better — it was a lot of the main leads getting to trust each other, one of them being so used to be alone and the other thrown into a situation that just made no logical sense. Their dynamic was really cute and interesting, and this did stay balanced throughout the entire movie; I really loved that there were no stupid misunderstandings and that any issues they had with each other were discussed. I loved the acting for all the Woo-jins, and the cinematography was unique and worked really well.

With that being said, however, the ending just felt like a cop-out; it felt like it was very much created for the hopeless romantic, the one who believes that love triumphs above all. But for a movie I loved for its practicality, it was disappointing. All those times the movie brought up things that made me go "Whoa, I hadn't thought about that" and suddenly it was like they couldn't think of an answer and decided to just drop the subject altogether.

This is my first review, I couldn't just keep quiet after watching this amazing movie so here I am!

Story:
This story is so unique and beautiful, I've never seen anything so creative. In the beginning, being in a relationship with someone that has a different face and body everyday sounds a little bit weird and also a little bit fun, but as the story and their relationship progresses you can really see the real struggles that these two have to face. Yi-soo's inner battle over this relationship is conveyed really well and you can really experience her pain with her over the fact that she will never be able to remember her lover's face. This story breaks down all the problems that come with having a relationship, but shows that love can conquer all and that it's not what's on the outside that matters but what's on the inside that really counts which is a lesson well taught in this movie. The only thing I disliked about the plot is the fact that Yi-soo's "sickness" that she gets isn't really explained all that well and I felt a bit confused as to why she was experiencing some symptoms. Another part of the story that I didn't understand that well is Woo Jin's Parents' Story, essentially this ties in with Yi-soo's condition so that whole part was just a little fuzzy for me and lacked the clarification I needed to fully understand Woo Jin's condition, but other than that everything else is explained and conveyed really well.

Acting/Cast:
I gave this a 10 mainly because Han Hyo-Joo does such an amazing job as the lead female. It's already hard as it is to make an on screen relationship look believable, but to do so with 20+ co-stars is amazing. Not only did she have to get used to working with practically different co-stars in each scene, but to also act in-love with each and every one of them no matter their age, gender or looks...I really tip my hat off to her. Not only was her acting amazing, but it was also quite fun to see famous actors here and there as well.

Music:
I loved the music, it really fitted well with the theme and cinematography of the movie, it just gives this movie the extra bump that makes it perfect. I liked the fact that they went with a more classical, acoustic feel to the music, it really ties everything together and makes you feel at ease while watching the movie.

Cinematography:
I just had to add this one in here. I was very impressed with how the movie was filmed. The scenes and shots were beautiful, the tones that they used were soft and very fitting and overall it was just very professionally and beautifully made.

I definitely recommend this to everyone, it's really a film that many types of people would enjoy and also makes you reflect a little bit on life and love and teaches you an important lesson in between.

I really loved the concept of this film!
There is also quite a lot of famous actors in this film -
Lee Dong wook, Park Shin hye, Seo Kang joon, Park Seo joon, Kim joo hyuk, Kim Hee won, Lee Hyun woo, Kim Sang ho... etc! I was quite surprised to see that many famous actors for such a short period of time in this film, i was quite impressed.
They all played the same character really well.

I love the message of this film, that love comes from the inside of others than the outside.
Power of love!

If you're looking for a feels-good cute movie i recommend this film to you!

I would give this a zero...

I find it disgusting how he changes ages. One day he can wake up as a child and the next an older man. That would imply that she is also loving the child. That is pedophilic. Others would disagree, but I actually find it creepy how he is changing ages. In no way is this relationship realistic, and although there are fantasy love stories, they are in some ways based in reality. This is not the case, he is changing ages. Others might say "his soul is that of a man her age" he is still that one day a child. In the end, I found it disturbing, and a lot of sensible people would agree with that.

My goodness the acting in this movie is so incredible, and there are so many intricate parts within it. I am beyond impressed and was blown away with emotions watching this. If anything I am annoyed with characters at times, but this adds to their development.
I reccomend this, so classy and well executed!

Review of " The beauty inside"

- First, let me start off by saying that this movie deserves points for originality. I have never in my life seen something like this. This kind of concept was completely new to me which was very refreshing so, thank you very much.
- Another thing that I loved about the movie was how realistic it was, sometimes it dramas everything can be so exaggerated so it was nice to see the real struggles that one could go through in a relationship. Especially when e-soo was doubting her relationship you yourself have probably never experienced her exact struggles but you could understand and relate to why she was having a hard time. To be honest, this movie made me cry, laugh, giggle, and get heart eyes all at the same time. The pacing was good and it overall gave you a nice cozy feeling. I was especially surprised to see the Park Seo-Joon in this movie! What a pleasant surprise.
- The soundtrack was all the memorable but during the credits and the scenes of the break-up and immediately after were when the instrumental hit the hardest.
- I'm not fond of the mellow drama genre but I would definitely watch this again. Mostly because their love story is so cute and unique that it makes you want to experience it all over again.

Second in the race of defining 'The Beauty Inside'

Actually I watched this movie after long time of watching the drama version. So my mind was automatically triggered to compare between two. And I think movie comes second to drama.
I found the story presented in drama to be more acceptable. A person doesn't change even though the appearance changes . However, living day to day life with different face is mentally tiring. That is why I liked story of drama version more. And i recommend people to watch the drama if not watched yet.
Acting was good though but I got bored watching it for 2 hours.

Hmmm... I liked it by the end at least.

Pros:
- Cool idea for a plot that is presented in a fresh way
- There are a few nice, touching, moments that make you feel good
- The ending scene is memorable and very well done

Cons:
- The pacing is slower than expected and there is a lot of dry dialogue, where attention can be zapped
- Some of the progression is not satisfying, due to some generic-feeling writing that makes the main character seem emotionless

Final thoughts

I don't think it was bad at all. It just didn't captivate me like I imagined. I would maybe recommend this movie to someone who wants to experience a fresh idea, but doesn't mind slower melodrama.

The synopsis of this movie seemed interesting so I decided to add it to my watch list. It took me a while to finally sit down and watch it, but during a Park Seo-joon binge, I decided it was time. The concept of this movie is truly unique and not the same plot that's been done over and over again. Both Park Seo-joon and Lee Dong-wook make appearances so you can already appreciate the beauty and talent of the cast. I understand why the writers left the ending the way they did, however, as a viewer I was hoping for something a bit different (such as a solution to the problem). That's not to say that the ending takes away from the movie, it's just a personal preference. I didn't really laugh too much, but I did she a few tears. Overall it's a decent film and worth a watch.
