This film is a social comedy which depicts women's endeavor to get the right to live free from men's violence in a male dominated society. The sultry weather is never-ending. People cannot sleep on account of the habitually oppressive heat. The hot days make people irritable. A husband, who habitually beats his wife, is hated by his neighbors. When the neighborhood women come to her rescue, they mistakenly beat her husband to death. Ten of them escape to the top of the apartment building. Each of these women have their own stories and their own reasons for supporting each other. Their sisterhood helps them to be strong and challenge the brutality they sometimes face at their men's hands. They fight for the right to live free without violence. Edit Translation

''Why does the moment women think is the beginning of their happiness turn into the start of giving up on themselves?? ''

I hesitatingly started this. Old films tend to be slightly boring for me. But I did because of Kim Min Jong. And the film was surprisingly interesting, brave and touching.

When patience and trust runs out and enough is enough, what can't women do?! The film presents a beautiful account on women bonding. When women cannot take things anymore and join hands to challenge the patriarchal world. When women accept their differences and stand as one against the world. The film presents all types of suppressed women, abused women, cheated women, prostitutes, bar hostesses, single women living alone, trans-genders and working women with unemployed husbands. All types of victimised and prejudiced women stand together for their rights.

The film is well-acted and well-written. It's novel, bold, funny, and deep. I enjoyed every single minute.
