A male body is discovered. He is strangled to death where his face pulverized beyond recognition and fingers burned to a crisp. Utsumi Kaoru is assigned to the case. The police face great difficulty in cracking the case. Thus, she seeks advice from brilliant physicist Yukawa Manabu, aka Detective Galileo.
After analyzing the case, Yukawa suspects that the true genius behind everything is Ishigami Tetsuya, the neighbor of the victim's ex-wife. Ishigami happens to be Yukawa's college friend whom he regards as a true mathematics genius.
Elaborate bluffs, false testimonials, loopholes in logic - all begin to appear in Detective Galileo's way as if intentionally placed as a challenge by someone with mathematical brilliance.

There is not such a happy and funny basic feeling it is more serious and shows a Yukawa who is struggeling with his understanding of human emotions.
Even the classical Galileo structure is changed, there is no supernatural phenomenon in relation to a murder case which Yukawa analyses and solves but a more psychologic analysis of the suspects.
I am amazed how this japanese dorama series set another highlight showing a completely new perspective of the Galileo story. The movie is very good. It sends you through a rollercoaster ride of emotions and leads you to a much better understanding of the character of professor Yukawa Manabu.
If you like the Galileo series you must watch it! If you like psychologic movies or sad stories this movie is also the right choice for you!
The best detective movie I have ever watched. From the start right to the end, I'm never bored. Acting were great, from the lead roles up to the supporting roles. Awesome plot. Really, when it comes to this genre, Japanese are the best.
And Galileo Season 2 is coming up! Will definitely keep a close eye on this.
