In a modern twist on Pygmalion, Ling is discovered by her long lost father who transports her to a world of dreams and wealth in Shanghai. While learning to be a lady, she falls in love with an unemployed guy, Joe, who has been hired to spruce up her image. However, the budding romance is nipped in the bud by Ling's outraged father.
