The follow-up story is based on next parts of the brilliant original manga, so its not something made up only to relive the drama. The action moves to a new exiting location and some fresh hilarious characters are added. The story of making a professional career in music gets bigger and more serious for both leads and their romance develops in the quirkiest way. Gyaboo!

It's been a week since I watched this 2 parts special, but don't worry people, since this is Nodame Cantabile we're talking about, I'm confident that I can still remember it crystal clear.

The first installment of the special is fantastic but the second part is my favorite (if you have watched this, they you know what I'm talking about)! This special picks up from where it left off on the drama series. It's still hilarious as ever. On this special, we got to meet new amazing people. If you love the drama series, you'll definitely like this as well.

STORY: 10
Really love it. Though compared to the series, you'll find the musical things more longer on the special, but I wouldn't call them boring because...

ACTING/CAST: 10
The cast did an amazing job on portraying their roles. Ueno Juri and Tamaki Hiroshi were amazing as usual. And so are the supporting casts, I don't really have anything bad to say on this department.

MUSIC: 8
Umm, it's classic music, right?

REWATCH VALUE: 9
I wouldn't mind rewatching when I have time.

OVERALL: 10

I've got so much to say but I'm afraid it would be full of spoilers.
Fasten your seat belt, and let's fly to Europe! Mukyaa!!!

(I know this is not related ... FYI on this upcoming movie, starring Ueno Juri with Matsumoto Jun: http://mydramalist.com/japanese-movie/5785/hidamari-no-kanojo)

I thought you couldn't top the drama but wow. This special goes further and deeper into both Chiaki and Nodame's characters and develops clearly their connection to music as well as to each other.

The first part focuses more on Chiaki as he faces a competition for the first time, while also figuring out what he can give to music and what makes him stand out from others like him. The second one focuses more in Nodame and how she feels falling behind in a world where music isn't just a hobby but a way of life and faces the question of why she's pursuing it. They both have to walk their paths separately to find out their own answers and, even if there's more romance here than there was in the drama, I loved that their answers are their own and not limited by others.

The music is again superb, once more the heart and soul of the story, and the performances are even better, in my opinion. Ueno Juri does an outstanding job in this and I teared up a bit in the 2nd part.

If you loved the drama, I'm pretty confident you're gonna adore this special.
