When I first started watching it i got hooked, a couple days off work and I finished the series in 2 days. I think I watched it so intensity because I was waiting for somthing to happen between the main characters. My opinion is that seung jo doesn't deserve ha ni, these was hardly no romance between these two. Bits and pieces hardly. I'm sitting here like, let some Btch talk to me like that, let some guy treat me like that, I'd quit the tennis club if I was her. Nothing made sense in the end, he treated her like garbage. Even if that was supposed to be in "personality".
-spoilers don't read if you haven't watched the end-
The eposide when she got married to seung joke he took her on a honey moon, he let this women hang on him and walked with her. What the hell was that I was so mad I never been so mad about a show. Then when they get home and go to school he meets the girl he was seeing before he decided to marry ha ni. He walks away from his unofficial wife and let's this girl hang off him.
In conclusion it wasn't all bad I liked it, but yknow it wasn't great either. I wouldn't watch this or read the manga in that case again.

The story is straight forward and somewhat cliche, and the acting isn't over the top or remarkable either, but there's a heart in this drama that will make you want to root for the girl. It's a perfect drama to watch as a teenager. I'd have to disagree with some reviews claiming that it showed Oh Hani, the main girl, as senseless. I think it actually depicted somewhat realistically just how swept up some teenagers can get in love interests, that it becomes the whole world to them, but they come to realize that adulthood has many aspects and finding romance is just one of them. Of course the cold male lead ridiculing the young girl is not something anyone wants to support, but this drama doesn't justify him being an asshole either. It instead does show character development and a budding romance between the two leads. I felt like the nearly robotic way the male lead portrayed himself in the beginning wasn't something that deviated out of character, and instead was portrayed fine.
One review said that the mom was helping Oh Hani stalk her own son: well they two leads are living in the same house, it's hard to be depicted as a stalker when you are residing in the same place in all honesty. The mom is actually one of the best reasons to watch this drama. She does want the two to get together because she's always longed for a daughter, but she isn't forceful and doesn't get in the way of the relationship either. It was refreshing to see a Kdrama mum be all over the female lead instead of being against her.
Overall this drama is worth dipping your toes into at least once. I found a special spark this drama had, if you don't feel it that's fine, but it definitely is worth looking into.

The story didn't move forward at all!!
In the beginning I thought that the main girl was OK.
She was cute and a bit clumsy. And after 3 ep you just get tired.
She was just so annoying!! Her whole character was like a parody of the "naive but cute girl". What was the writers thinking?? She was so dumb!
Her lack of common sense was amazing...
The main guy was just a douche. But his mom was quite sweet.
I'm amazed by the acting. They were so good that I hate their characters now.
Music? Just meh...
I'll never watch this again. Because I know I'll just rage quit half way
Overall? This is the worst drama I've ever seen. If you like torture...
I recommend this!

Don't give me wrong it had it's cute and funny moments, but it was a little bit corny, at least for my style . Though I would to point out the fact, that it made me laugh in every episode and my oppa was so dreamy (he truly looks like an angel) that I don't regret watching it, but I wouldn't reccomend it easily...

Playful Kiss (2010)
A fun little romantic story that probably doesn't see the light of day in modern times. A seemingly cute premise fronted by a pair of characters that are hardly redeemable in any aspect makes the show a hard sell. Like most shows of its time and genre, the show once again proves that toxicity and abuse doesn't mean much of anything as long as you show up with a little carrot on the end of that abusive stick. While the cast of characters do play off each other well, you'll have to make it through the at times slog of a story. And after it's all said and done, you still don't think much of the show as it doesn't leave much of an impression on you, like a playful kiss if you will.

A part of the large Mischievous Kiss empire started from the Japanese shojo manga almost 30 years ago (the original began in 1990), this is a Korean spin on it after many previous Japanese remakes and new international sequels are being produced still.
The male lead, Seung Jo, has his cute moments, but overall is cold, underhandedly manipulative, and constantly puts down Oh Ha Ni for all her shortcomings (even after they finally get together). He rarely admits he even likes Oh Ha Ni and pulls the old “how did you put this spell on me? I really don’t know why I love you, but I do” to new levels that are honestly hard to believe throughout much of the show.
The real draw for me was the slapstick comedy and over-the-top antics of early 2000s sitcoms which balance the cringe-y moments. You may also enjoy the lovable, nosy-yet-sweet classic TV trope mom to Seung Jo (totally following the pair around all the time in disguise) or Oh Ha Ni’s diehard BFFs
that support her and believe she will succeed no matter how many times she fails (in basically everything), yet Oh Ha Ni is not called ‘Noah’s Snail’ for nothing...a clever motto her character revolves around... Not to be forgotten, Ha Ni and Seung Jo’s dads are comical and completely adorable in their devotion to one another and that shines through a lot of the show as their kids live under the same roof!
So while I get the enamor of the underdog on the come up and Oh Ha Ni gaining her 4 year one-sided crush’s reciprocated feelings, there’s something that leaves a bad taste in my mouth even when the most likable modern day FL strives for nothing else in life aside from winning their crush’s heart. Oh Ha Ni outright stalks Seung Jo throughout the entirety of the show — trying to secretly follow him everywhere like when he joins Tennis Club, tailing him to find out where he works and separately lives at one point, trying to become his restaurant co-worker and when failing proceeding to show up daily as a customer while pretending the whole time she’s not there for him at all. Her very existence only runs on catching glimpses of him, eavesdropping on his conversations, getting a later job as a secretary to be close to him while he steps in for his dad’s company, and changing her major to nursing when Seung Jo decides to pursue becoming a doctor.
This didn’t age as well as Coffee Prince or other even older Korean romcom shows of its kind and while it’s easy enough to deduce I would prefer more than a one-dimensional leading character with some form of her own independent ambitions and basically able to do, well, anything, if I had seen this show when it first aired a decade ago, as a young teen in a different era, the charm of this show might have been more bright.

Watched For Him, Struggled to Finish Because of Her
I watched this show shortly after I saw Boys Over Flowers because I was crushing on Kim Hyun Joong and I had no idea who she was so I was optimistic. It sort of started off okay but once Oh Ha Ni (Jung So Min) really started crushing on Baek Seung Jo (Kim Hyung Joong) she came off super, super creepy. Not to mention I had the same issue with her that I would later have with the female lead in Goblin, which is that she behaved so weirdly child-like that it grossed me out.
She was really working my nerves for most of the show, almost even more so than Yoon He Ra (Lee Si Young), and we're supposed to like one of them and dislike the other.

okay...
This is my first time watching the drama and I don't know...I don't necessarily LIKE the series but as someone who gets bored Really easily, I wasn't bored watching this that I finished the whole series in the span of 3 days. Which isn't something I do often.Story - Like I said, it wasn't boring. But I have a lot of complains. I didn't like that they made Hani be terrible at literally everything she does and barely gave her any character development while almost everyone else got it. Because even though she gave me so much second hand embarrassment, she is still quite likeable and I wished that her character was less dependant and better. The relationship was very toxic most of the time, Seungjo is just a huge red flag and Hani is a stalker (which was encouraged by Seungjo's mother, she was really weird, I didn't like her as well), but sometimes they're kinda cute..I don't know...
Hani's friends are alright. Bong Joonggu gave me the ick I'm sorry, he was as obsessed with her as much as she was obsessed with Seungjo but atleast Seungjo liked her (even though he didn't act like it most of the time) while Hani never thought about Joonggu that way.
Since I'm a fan of high school dramas, to me the earlier episodes where they were still in high school were more fun. I wished that they spent most of the drama being in high school instead of university.
Cast/Acting - I don't think I had any complains about the acting while watching this (?)
Music - The main OST is my favorite thing about this show, I've been listening to it almost everyday since I started watching this.
Rewatch Value - I think I can see myself rewatching this in the future when I have literally nothing else to do and just feel like rewatching something I used to enjoy when I was younger.

When the opposites do not attract
I watched this drama in 2014, i was 12 years old so my definition of what it was romantic, what was not were really strange. Now rewatching this drama with 18 years old i can really see the problems and how toxic it is this relationship beteween the two characters. The girl doesn"t have choices of her own, she depends of this guy that she is attracted for about 4 years, and to actually have a function brain, she constantly needs stalk him everywhere he goes and do things she doesn"t wanna do...Wtf is the point of this??? The guy constant say how dumb, stupid, ugly and obssesive you are, just why you keep fucking trying????!!!!!
Not only the girl, but the main guy is also a big jerk, who thinks he is better than everyone else just because he's smart and handsome....Congratulations you have a brain, now use it to have empathy with others.
I only recommend this drama, if you already watched when you were younger and dummy like myself, you can see how much the things changes.

Heartwarming
I was a little displeased at first with the way Baek Seung-Jo was treating Oh Ha-Ni, but that changed later on. The comedy aspect was okay. I did love the fashion aspect too. I just saw it recently after approximately nine years and it still looked so charming and beautiful. The Music: touches the heart (so emotional). The acting: They did great for them to get me a bit angry. Comparing this series with other highschool ones (romantic comedy) from south Korea: I do prefer this one. it's not boringWas this review helpful to you?
the start of a big story
This drama contains a special part in my heart ❤️.First of all I watched this drama very fast you can say at the speed of flash.
Secondly the story is amazing, even tough sometimes I know that the female lead is putting herself down for some guy. But I love how she never gave up. She lacked self-confidence but that NEVER stopped her. A lot say that the male lead doesn't deserve her because he's a little toxic toward her but I think he just can't express his feeling very much. I think that if someone deserves her it is him cause he is the only one who needs her to be able to express his feelings.
Third of all is that I loved ? this drama so much that it made me watch every version. I stayed awake for nights during watching it. It made laugh, smile, cry and made feel very much.

You Gotta be kidding me ? Right?
To be honest the only reason this drama peeked my interest ..was Kim Hyun Joong. He is just so blood handsome I had to see it lol..Once I got into the story tho, I was so disappointed ..OH Ha N i drove me insane! Her obsessive and sulky behaviour through out the series just upset me to the point I wanted to shake some common sense into her! I don't blame the male lead being mean at all ..yet I would never understand how he fell for her!
Ridiculous!
Just made me angry!
