same story, same characters (mostly), same soap opera vibes, but the Dugu sisters story is more compelling and let's face it, Dugu Mantuo is a fan villain
As you can see from the title, both these dramas deal with Empress Dugu. However- LEGEND of DUGU revolves more around the lives of all 3 sisters and how their story intertwines.

Similar plot, similar events, character names, similitude ending. Almost a remake. I have to admit that I am completely biased against this series Queen Dugu because I watch another series similar titled “the legend of the dugu.”. That series was absolutely off the charts and captivating. If I could give it 50 stars I would. The cast was amazing and perfect and their chemistry was almost unbelievable. The banter and dialogue between the main lead was realistic and natural. At times it was too cute anime heart warming. I watched that series multiple times. Then I watch this one. Although this particular series was not awful big cast just could not compare to the cast in the other series and how amazing it was. Yes I know I’m going on and on about A different Siri but that was just how amazing the other one was. If you have not watched either series by all means go back and watch the legend of duke you and then watch this one and you will completely understand what I mean. Well if you haven’t watched the other one then watch this one and then go back and watch the other one is a comparison between the two is on comparable. The dialogue in this series was OK but in the beginning a bit annoying. The comparison between the two was so evident. In this series the main leads had a cat mouse type thing going on and the female lead was a bit snobbish and immature which was annoying initially but in the other series the female lead was young somewhat immature but she had a sense of duty and that carry her through her levels of immaturity. I have no idea why they made a duplicate of this series because it’s almost the exact same plot events but the cast was different. If I’m not mistaken they were probably all filmed around the same time. I can’t be sure but because I enjoyed the series I can only give it a good rating call mom but because I saw the other one I cannot give us such a high one.
The story reveals in the beginning Qi Empire while Gao Zhan has his fight of the throne with Empress Dowager Lou. Lu Zhen was the ever first female prime minister at that era. The story basically covers 80% true history recordings about the life of Lu Zhen, a smart and brilliant minded young lady from a middle class official family to her way up to becoming a prime minister. The story also had actually happened to be at the almost same time with this Legend Of Dugu, while the family Dugu prime minister's daughter was indeed a close friend of Lu Zhen. If you want to understand more about at then Qi Empire and Zou Empire affairs, this Legend of Lu Zhen is a good start, follow on to continue understand, this Legend of Dugu will be part 2.
The story somehow related to Legend of Dugu as it happened during the same time. Prince of Lan Ling is the nephew of the Qi Empire's late emperor Gao Zhan. The story tells the events of both Qi Empire and Zou Empire's affairs. And also in this Legend of Dugu, Prime minister Dugu's youngest daughter Dugu Jia Luo's husband Yang Jian was the great general of Zou Empire's leading 180000 troops against Qi Empire's Prince Lan Ling's troops. This is the 3rd part of story between Qi and Zou Empire's real historical records ( covers about 80% real historical recording events, source from Google History ).
