The things we do for love
I enjoyed watching the entire series. No dull moments, just some frustrating and wanted to pull your hair and slapped the faces of those villains who were mean to Fuyao. I love how Wuji's love and devotion for Fuyao breaks all the rules in order to keep Fuyao safe and sound. Fuyao's moral compass as well as her empathy with the people she meets and learned to appreciate and love is also amazing and admirable. Their acting were superb and fight scenes were all perfectly executed. Yang Mi and Ethan Ruan's performance here were superb and gives their own roles and characters justice. But I really appreciate Yang Mi here, she really did a good job here. I love how expressive her eyes are.Just a bit confused with the ending, but thank Google for it. I was given clarity. Lol!

The first 30 episodes are excellent. The story moves in a good pace, the chemistry of Ethan Juan and Yang Mi for the first part was through the roof! The fighting scenes are also superb. I can see some bad CGI but the scenes are very exciting, edge of your seat kinds, so it's not too bothersome for me. Ethan Juan as Zhangsun Wuji is excellent. I have seen him in a couple of Taiwanese drama, but I thought that his acting in Legend of Fu Yao tops everything that he's ever done. He's amazingly charming and that smile can melt my heart! Yang Mi's acting as Fu Yao is also much better than Ten Miles of Peach Blossom.
Fast forward to the second half of the drama. The pace slows down and they introduce new characters as the two main leads move on to other kingdoms and meet new villains. However, unfortunately, it's not as exciting as the first half. The focus on the other characters get boring and I thought that they can do without these part of the storyline, and just skip to the last 5 (or maybe 10) episodes to close the loop.
The ending I thought was a bit rushed too, although it's a satisfying ending. I don't like those dramas with open-ended endings.
Overall, this is a very good drama that i would recommend for sure. The music is great too, ones that I would add to my playlist and listen over and over again. And... you've got to watch it for Ethan and Yang Mi's excellent chemistry. I would definitely re-watch the first part of the drama.

There were a couple minor flaws within the series but nothing that will lower my overall rating of the series.
I really enjoyed the story and the characters. Overall I think Legend of Fu Yao is a very good to excellent series and has good rewatch value.

Great Acting, Decent Story
Okay, I'm not going to lie - I mainly watched this because of the hype, and the first maybe 14 episodes or so, I was bored to tears and wondering when something, ANYTHING, was going to happen and when I would stop finding the main character horrifically annoying. But it did get better! Much better, and actually became one of my favourite dramas. There were definite scenes that I would rewatch because I enjoyed them so much, and the chemistry between the two main leads was phenomenal, in addition to just great acting from the both of them - special shoutout to Ethan Juan as Wu Ji, who threw his soul and acted his heart out as his character. I truly do think his acting was what made me fall in love with his character (initially, I even had trouble distinguishing between him and Jing Chen).
One major peeve of mine, though, was the side couple who I really could not stand. The circumstances of how they got together was frankly insulting, and dubious. I really felt as if Zhuzhu's whole character was basically to be in love with Zhan Bei Ye, and that was it - their lesson as a couple was that if as long as you persist, if you really love that person and sacrifice an important part of yourself, you'll eventually get the guy and fall in love! Even if said guy ignored your existence for many, many, many, many years and basically tells you off every time. But remember, none of that matters because eventually the two of you will fall in love because he will realize you are willing to sacrifice your whole life for him!
Anyway, side couple aside, the plot was decent and while nothing to write home about, again, was greatly acted and added a lot to my enjoyment while watching this show. Would I watch again? Maybe! Definitely one of the more enjoyable dramas I've watched so far and fantastic music to go along with it.

A must watch WUXIA GENRE Action-Packed Martial Arts Drama
In the Five Kingdoms led by the Imperial City of Wuji, a slave named Meng Fuyao mysteriously joins and wins in a Martial Arts Contest, reserved only for Members of the Xuanyuan Sect, through the Po Jiu Xiao, a powerful fighting technique Fuyao learned at the age of sixteen. The series unravels with Meng Fuyao then embarking on an adventure and action-packed run of each episode, warped in scenic picturesque and orient gargantuan settings amidst a backdrop of a love triangle, oppressive warlord culture and cat and mouse chase with the Crown Prince Wuji in a series of quests for the Five Talismans to save the Five Kingdoms. Was this review helpful to you?

Engaging
Beautiful Yang Mi and handsome Ethan Yuan had such amazing chemistry in this series, although Yang pretty much dominates this genre notwithstanding whoever plays opposite her. I thought the series was well-plotted and each episode, engaging. However, parts of the story that involved the character played by Gao Weiguang were so badly acted that I had second-hand embarrassment for Gao. I couldn't believe this was the same guy who gave us some of the best scenes in Eternal Love because he was just so bland on screen. Thankfully, the other subplots and characters made it worthwhile. Hate the ending but what can one do: you win some and lose some. Was this review helpful to you?
A MUST WATCH
I dont usually wright a review but i had to cause this is one of the best wuxia dramas I've watched, everytime i watched a wuxia i skipped a lot cause most of them were dragy and boring and I'm not a patient person . but this one wasnt dragy and boring at all the story never stops there's always something going on ... is well writtin and its so interisting and there's a kind of chapters in it and in each one they begin a new journey but most importantly the story events were balanced .
everything about this drama is amazing the set the customs the music everything was perfect obviously big budget andddd most importantly the kungfu fighting scenes were mind blowing they certainly worked hard for them .
that the ML/FL made the story look even better cause the chemistry between them is unbelievable you can feel love and passion they showed for each(I JUST LOVE HOW THEY LOVED EACH OTHER ).. their acting was on point 10/10 (the best I've seen so far) they were realy amazing not only them but the whole cast .
as for their characters I loved how smart loyal and strong fu yao was and how she became stronger by the time ... wuji is the confusing one it takes a bit time to figure out who he really is and what is his purpose but everything becomes clear by the time ( but you wont stop being surprised )
I'm not gonna mention all the characters but i have to say i loved every one of them there's no unnecessary character , each one of them had an important part in the story and they all showed that part perfectly ( especially vengo ;) ) .
I'M not a fan of details so a guss this is enough but I REALLY RRALLY advise you to watch this you wont regret it .
i think im gonna watch this 10 times or more .

Good overall, but very draggy with a lot of filler episodes
STORYThe story is quite solid and contains a lot of good arcs. The ending does feel a bit rushed, and seems like it's only a happy ending just for the sake of being a happy ending. 8/10 for that.
ACTING
Everyone had excellent acting and I didn't spot any flaws, 10/10.
MUSIC
This music was stuck in my head for a week after I finished watching, and that wasn't a bad thing. So good.
REWATCH VALUE
Yeah, no. I'm not watching 66 episodes again. Besides, I would say a solid 20 of those episodes were kind of a waste of time for people who prefer action and a fast plotline (yeah, that means me.) There are way too many episodes and probably could've easily been cut down to under 50. I blame the editor.

My favorite OTP!
This is one of my favorite cdramas. The chemistry between the leads is amazing and I really love their story. I wish I could get more of them on screen. Wuji has set the bar high for me in terms of a male lead...handsome, smart, caring *swoons* I love everything about this series from the acting to the music to the costumes and the interesting plot and kung fu scenes. The only thing I would criticize was there were some parts that were a little draggy like when they went into the story of the secondary couple who are not as interesting. They were good side characters but just devoted too much time to their story which could've been cut short so they could spend more time on the ending which felt rushed. They could've done a better job making the ending less ambiguous as it was confusing whether they were alive or dead at the end.Was this review helpful to you?

Is this the ending ? All those emotions just to be let down , no burial for that one ride or die friend did the heavenly doctor meet up with the young miss and did she make shrimp for him ? What happened with prince fierce and little tail at least give us a time jump and show them with kids living happily but the ending feels rushed so maybe that’s what it is. I’ll give it a 7/10 because that ending could have been better overall really good watch. Great job to the actors they did amazing they delivered an amazing performance. Was this review helpful to you?
