When childhood games becomes deadly! For me, " Squid Game" is a mixture of Alice in Borderland, Hunger Games, and Battle Royal, wherein you need to do things you thought you're not capable of doing in order to survive. I finished the entire series in a day as it's very engaging and the character's background stories are all very intriguing and will leave you on edge. This series is lined up with some of the big names in SoKor drama land, which is a gift for us, as they didn't disappointment me with their capabilities to deliver their lines, characters, and emotions. If you don't like bloody scenes, violence and suicide, stay away from this series as it may cause triggering effect. Also, the root of evil aside from greed, is money, this series, shows it all. But overall, you'll enjoy the series, so watch it.
Let's die in the spring"I think that there should be atleast one person on your side" - Landlord lady
What a satisfying revenge drama for me. Everyone who made other people's life, met their demise may it be figuratively or literally, which they definitely deserved.
Definitely worth the wait and I am happy that our Dong Eun finally realised that she's not alone. That there are people who loves her and cares for her.
Some may complain about Yeo Jung's case but I think it's "just" that they do his own revenge thing after they concluded Dong Eun's journey. Why? in order for them to move on and have their own version of peace, they should have a conclusion with their unfinished business.
We should remember that these two are badly damaged souls and their mental health is really not good, so some might say they're toxic to each other; but for me, they serves as an anchor for each other. They do balance one another and give themselves a purpose in life; or else, there's no reason for them to live, and would rather die.
I really hate Dong Eun's mother and how she uses their relationship to abuse her child. I love what the landlady said to Dong Eun, that even if families are determined by the heavens, sometimes heavens commits mistakes.
** Also, at first I was rooting for Ha Do Young and Moon Dong Eun, but then I realised it's not gonna happen. Why? Because of Ye Sol, who's greatly affected with all of this and like what Dong Eun told the child, she'll be forever sorry and will apologize to her for the rest of Ye Sol's life if she wanted to, as Dong Eun ruined her world. Ha Do Young maybe inlove or fascinated with Dong Eun but his love will never be enough to fill all the void that's lacking in Dong Eun's life. We all know he is a very good father to Ye Sol in spite of him being not the biological father of the child. So their life will be stressful and they'll be toxic for each other in the long run. So I am really happy that Dong Eun and Yeo Jung ended up together.
What a ride! Everyone got their justice and their own happy ending. Binge watch worthy!
Worth the wait and the hype!Been waiting for years for this novel to be made into a drama and was apprehensive to watch it upon learning that Reba will be Jing jing as I haven't had the chance to watch her drama, but my love for Yang yang and for the novel won me over, and I'm glad, I did it.
OMG!!!!! I love Reba's Jing jing and Yang yang's Yu Tu! Thank you for bringing these two characters into life from the novel. My heart is full just by ogling these two sweethearts! I just love how they brought the Jing jing and Yu Tu's characters into life. Sooo fluffy, sweet and just entirely worth the wait! Damn!!! Can't get enough of them.
It's my first time watching Reba, and I'm soo happy with her, she brought into life Jing Jing's character from the novel, she's playful, hardworking, funny, and dearly loves Yu Tu even after several years of being separated from each other.
Yang yang as always, knows how to act in my eyes, but clearly, how he brought Yu Tu into his own version is remarkable. He showed the struggle, pain, and self-doubt of Yu Tu upon his capabilities and worth not just a man for Jing jing, but as a person per se.
Also, I love the songs, they're remarkable and really suits the scenes. Will definitely watch it again as what I've been doing with the novel.
Worthy of its ratingsI couldn't believe that I waited for several years before finally deciding to watch this series! I wasted a lot of time not knowing how amazing and beautiful it is. Story is written perfectly, it was complex, intriguing, full of smart people, will keep you on edge while watching. Full of bromance, you'll feel a lot of emotion while watching. Characters were portrayed perfectly by the actors/actress, fight scenes were executed well. Cinematography is great.
If you haven't watch it and you love intrigues, revenge, politics, wars, bromance/family/friendship drama, then you better watch this. It is all worth it, the 54 episodes were not enough for me. Will surely miss the entire casts.
Not just a hype, but definitely worth it!Surprisingly this drama is such a breath of fresh air! Amidst of all the dramas with topics such as politics, harem, inner and outside court tactics and a whole lot more, this one is waaay much different. I loved and enjoyed watching everyone's daily activities.
With their underhanded political manuevers, unnecessary deaths, intrigues, vicious killings and just simply taking advantage of people around them, the drama has the lack of it, in some way.
There's power struggle here, battle of being in favoured by the King but still, even the supposed to be villain is not that vicious and evil enough to just go ahead and kill everyone else.
They promote women empowerment, sisterhood, camaraderie and good relationship among everyone else. Also, the way they discuss about Post Partum Blues or Post Partum depression which happens to some or most women after giving birth is really great!
I love that there's a lot of character growth, some frustrating and annoying parts, but over all I just fell in love with everyone else.
I love that BJT is always or almost always smiling here and TWX is like a 1M watts bulb with all her super bright smile, that you can't help but get carried along as well. If you haven't watched it, then better start the first episode and you'll not regret it.
Though it might bother you with some part/s that shows domestic violence and suicide, so I'll warn you about that.
One of the best Ancient drama for me! Chang Ge and Sun, I miss you!I never thought that 49 episodes is not enough for an ancient drama, I always try my best to stay away from Chinese Ancient dramas as they're too long, tedious, traumatic and sometimes boring. But who would've thought that I enjoyed, loved and appreciated all of the 49 episodes of this series. Not an episode did I skipped nor fast forwarded as I find it tedious nor boring! Every episode is interesting, breathtaking, will leave you off edge and wanting for more! I laugh, cry, got scared for them, angry and frustrated and just simply amazed and excited for this series. It's my 2nd time watching Reba's drama (from YMG to this) and 1st time watching Leo! Such a powerful couple and fitted with their respective roles. They both give their characters depth, life and just simply amazing skills in acting. I loved all their scenes together, their conversation/interactions and just mainly everything. How I appreciated all the actors in this drama, their characters, from the main cast to the supporting roles, to the villains and to the production team.
You'll find Chang Ge's character at first frustrating and just wanted to smack her at times, but you'll learned to understand and appreciate where she's coming from. In the long run, she'll learn to grow and realized what's more important for her.
I love Sun, everything about him is such a dream come true. Leo gave his all in performing this character and for this, I will be a new fan of him.
I love the executions of fight scenes, it's breathtaking and exciting! It's sooo good and looks real! My gosh! Will definitely watch this again! Until then, will be missing Chang Ge and Sun.
Love the blood splatterThe casting was great! Actors did a very good job and the executions of the action scenes were spot on. I enjoyed the fight scenes, especially the blood splatter is very convincing. As I was watching the movie, I was just going with the movie, it's just me watching a movie, no connection at all with the characters. I feel like there's something lacking about the entire movie, though I couldn't identify what was it.
Also, there's a lot of things that weren't given enough attention, so I feel disconnected with the movie and the characters.
Three's definitely a crowd in this seriesOMG!!!!! I cannot believe I finished the entire season 1 as soon as I started watching it! I loved it!!!! I am a huge fan of the webtoon series and when I started reading it, I was having a wishful thinking that they would adapt it in a drama series and viola!!!! Here is our drama.
Season 1 gave the background story of Gray/Shi Eun and Stephen/Soo Ho's friendship and what happened way back there. The entire casts is superb! They really did a spectacular performance, with being a bully and a victim. I really abhor bullying, especially school violence as I don't get their reason in doing that? Self-fulfillment? Power? Validation? Why? If you're a victim yourself, why would you let others experience what your experiencing, instead of preventing it to happen to other people? You did bad things and then you justify what you did and blame it on other people, just to excuse your sorry self.
Really, Beom Seok/Bryce's character is really a sorry excuse for a human being, what a jerk, and definitely a coward person. I hate him!!!! I cannot wait for season 2 as Shi Eun will have a new set of friends/family in Eunjang High. Also, the fights there are superb! I want to watch if Shi Eun will use the "cola" can as a weapon. Anyway, I really enjoyed the series.
I want Season 2!!!!!What a great, great, great military chinese drama!!!! I think, one of the best military chinese drama for me! Perfect casts/actors, beautifully written story, convincing/realistic executed fight scenes/gun fights, love the OST and just how good they deliver their roles and scenes that are needed.
Yan Po Yue's and his comrades journey in their police academy life is full of struggles, pain, blood, tears and a whole lot of brotherhood.
Another hats off for Yang Yang's stellar performance, in this drama. Yang yang only showed that he can be a boy next door senior boyfriend, a cold and genious e-sports player, a gifted scientist and now my frustrating, annoying, kinda bordering to being psycho, yet handsome, and brave soldier.
You'll laugh, get frustrated, cry with them, be on edge, upset and just be amaze with each scenes as they are all perfectly executed.
And oh! I love my best girl sniper, Guo Xiao xiao! The actress who played her role is amazing! Hoping for more dramas for her!
I will definitely miss LLH's sarcasm, superb martial arts skills and his to die for smirksHail Cheng Yi!!!! This is definitely one of the best Wuxia series I've ever watched in my entire journey as a Cdrama fan. Every element included in this series, to be made as complete and whole did their part amazingly and perfectly.
The story may be cliche with revenge, betrayal, good vs evil, but! they did it with a twist.
There's mystery, adventure, brotherhood, good camaraderie, perfectly executed fight scenes (which takes my breath away) and couldn't helped myself but to rewind it to watch that scene again, and a lot more. You'll cry, get frustrated, upset, laugh, be curious, be on edge on your seat and just simply be awed with Cheng Yi's acting on this series. I love how he portrayed LLH's character. I love the sprinkled jokes, his sarcastic jabs/remarks, his to die for smirks, and his growth as a person. From being a proud, kinda selfish but fiercely loyal person, and was oblivious on what's happening around him, him as an excellent person, a martial artist genius, to having experienced betrayal, his downfall and realisation as a mature person.
I love how Cheng Yi and Joseph Zeng interact on screen. It looks natural and convincing. How they bicker with each other but you'll know for sure that they're ready to save and protect one another if needed.
Let me say it again, the fights scenes here are all perfectly executed! Most especially LLH's fight scenes! OMG!!!! I simply love those scenes, they looked sooo convincing and natural! Kuddos to their hard work!
Also, I really love this drama because there's no unnecessary romance plot that sometimes, ruin a good series.
I hate all the villains, I wanted to skinned them alive, that's how good and convincing they are with their parts/roles. 😭😭😭
My only complain was the subtitles were too fast for a scene. I for an expert as a subtitle reader did had a hard time reading them all. 😂😂😂 I had to rewind some in order to understand some.
If you're still contemplating whether you have to watch this series, I can gladly say, go for it! Give it a chance and you'll never regret it. Just as I didn't regret buying the express package just to know what's gonna happen in the end.
Eye candy galoreI enjoyed watching it; great casting, with Daniel Henney (Jack) as an added character. The comedy timing was perfect and I find Yoona hilarious here.
I loved the fight scenes, they were perfectly executed for me, that's why it was believable.
Story was cliche with drugs, revenge, chemical bombs and political inclination; but heck, it was an entertaining movie for me.
Hyun Bin is a well versed actor, and here you see that he knows his craft well, as he is very convincing with his actions scenes, they looked well executed and real.
YHJ as his SoKor detective partner is also as always a very good actor, he played his role perfectly.
So, definitely worth watching it. Their trio team, was a perfect combination.
A Mothers' Love knows no boundariesHow to move on from this wonderfully written sageuk drama of 2022? I just cannot believe that it ended, I want more of them.
Great casting, spectacular performances, crispy and well written dialogues, OST is used perfectly on each scenes, face off/slap scenes (figuratively) and you'll feel a whole lot of emotions from the drama. There's character growth and development, and I loved it!
This drama shows different types of motherly love: there's a kind, warm, supporting, forgiving, accepting and protective love; a love that is ruled by greed and obsession that is poisonous to one's child.
I love how they tackle issues, especially related with the 4 grand prince, the other children as well as the King, I'm surprised, I enjoyed his character. As most of the dramas, the father (King) usually is a jerk who's obsessed with power and greed.
Kim Hye Soo is one of my favourite SoKor actress, she knows how to deliver emotions and lines. Her face says it all, even when she's just lifting her eyebrows, you know it wants to express something. She's such a powerful actress, you'll feel all the emotions/character she wanted to portray. I love her!!!
If you haven't watched it, you should start watching it now and surely you'll enjoy it as much as I did.
Though, the Queen Dowager had it easy which was kinda lacking as she is a nasty
character. What happened to her doesn't give justice to everything she did from the past.
I'm soo disappointedI was wondering why it has a low rating when this is a Joo Won film. For me, he is an actor who knows how to act and he always do a good job. I watch it with excitement as the trailer looks promising, but then, I was disappointed.
Acting wise, they did a good job, I mean the SoKor actors/actress; they didn't disappoint but then the "foreign" actors, are all obviously were "acting". They look so fake and struggling with their roles which is kinda frustrating. The fight scenes were convincing, especially the bloody/gore scenes. The blood itself looks real. But I have a problem with the CG/effects used. It looks sooo fake! Also, scenes were sooo unconvincing and ridiculous! I just can't with it. It looks meh for me. I was laughing and cursing while watching it because it was absurd and too far fetch! It's ridiculous, especially the helicopter scene. ???
There are a lot of things that needed explanation but they didn't do it. Really! what a waste! They could have done a better job. Sorry! I'm just ranting! I'm just too disappointed. ???
Missing Wei Ying calling Lan Zhan endlesslyI was contemplating on watching this drama, thinking it was just over hyped just because the main leads are sinfully handsome. I already started watching the first episode, but maybe I wasn't in the mood at that time that's why it didn't caught my attention enough, so I dropped it. It's a good thing I started again, and my gosh!!!! It's worth the hyped! I love the story! The cast, the fight scenes, the cinematography, and the OST. I just love love love the Wei Ying and Lan Zhan, how I enjoy and love Yibo and Xiao Zhan's chemistry and interaction. How I get frustrated with all the villains who bullies my babies.
Hats off to Shin Hye-Sun!!!This drama is a gem! I know it's a remake from a Chinese drama, and it created a lot of issues but I really enjoyed watching the drama. Shin Hye-Sun is such a great actress! She is sooo good with her character, may it be her as Jang Bong-Hwan or Kim So-Yong, you'll noticed the switching of the characters. Other support actors did their parts wonderfully and convincing, including Kim Jung-Hyun as King Cheoljong. The scenes and their acting convinced me, and showed me how to react or what to feel upon showing needed emotions. I laugh, cry, became frustrated, angry and just simply entertained with everyone of them.
I really enjoyed this drama, and definitely would watch it again.
