How to Date an Otaku Girl (2009)

When I saw the title for this and read the summary I instantly wanted to watch this movie. It seemed so cute and original. Sadly the best part of this movie was probably the summary, because thats as about interesting as it gets. About 15 minutes into watching it, it just gets boring & really predictable. I can be okay with predictable, but boring? ugh. I thought this movie had really great potential but sadly it just falls flat. I really can't think of an instance of when I would recommend this movie. Even if it were just on in the background you should still probably pass.

In short, I counted the seconds so I can end this movie, then I started fast forward yet still it did not end soon enough,
the Female lead was annoying in every way possible, the chemistry between the two leads was very poor, it was more like an aunt and her niece..
the only thing that kept me going was the cuteness of Daito Shunsuke, his cuteness did a great job to save this movie but the movie was very dull I'm afraid it wasn't enough :(
I'm sorry for the fans of movie, but I hate the 45 min. I spent on this movie (Yes! I finished it in 45 min because of all the fast forward, and still I was bored to death)

I actually didn't know what an Otaku was so I thought from the picture, the movie was going to be about her being a maid for some reason?

Yeah well it was totally different from what I thought! It's a little naughty but really funny story about a girl who is obsessed with boy love manga, games, tv, movies etc and the normal boy who loves her and is willing to accept her as she is. The story does get a little dramatic towards the end though. The ending is nice and sweet. The leads were cute together. I really like that thier characters were so different but somehow they found love. Overall How to Date an Otaku Girl is a cute and funny watch.
