The Legend of the Condor Heroes (2008)

"Return" is sequel but with a slightly different preceding storyline

Demi-Gods and Semi-Devils is a prequel story to the Condor Trilogy as the Northern Beggar of the Five Greats, Hong Qigong succeeds Qiao Feng as the new chief of the Beggars' Sect in The Legend of the Condor Heroes and Duan Yu is the fictional ancestor of the historical character Duan Zhixing

This drama has the same lead pair Hu Ge and Ariel Lin. It is a very sweet, funny love story. Though the story takes a serious turn halfway, it is very engaging. The soundtrack is beautiful too, give this a try.

If you want to see Hu Ge again, in a different role, you should see this. It has magical elements, fun and is story is carried out in a light refreshing manner.

Just different adaptations of the same famous wuxia novel by Jin Yong (Louis Cha); everyone has their personal favorite version(s). You can really choose any of them, but know this is the first part of the Condor Trilogy and is followed by The Return of the Condor Heroes; that latter is a different story. The third is Heaven Sword and Dragon Saber.

Okay I know this is a stretch here but the dynamic between the female and male leads are similar... FLs are super smart while the male leads are full of passion, but not exactly the brightest... It's also the FLs that paves the way for the MLs' successes...

This is the 2008 adaption of the same novel starring Hu Ge as Guo Jing, Ariel Lin as Huang Rong, Liu ShiShi as Mu Nianci and Yuang Hong as Yang Kang. Although it doesn't have a sequel, it is a good stand alone adaption that does well to tie all character's story plots in the story.

The 1st one to this trilogy is Legend of the Condor heroes. I liked it a lot. It was funny and had a great story line. I haven't seen the other versions but this is one should be a definite watch. The 2nd one to the trilogy is Romance/Return of the Condor Heroes. I liked the 2014 version a lot even though most people gave it a bad review. I've seen both Romance and Return of the Condor Heroes and both had its pros and cons.

In both dramas Ariel Lin is a smart girl who'll do anything for her beloved one even to give him some precious advice during time of war. And if you liked Ariel Lin in one drama you'll surely like her in the other one .
Other than that Prince of Lan Ling and Legend of the Condor Heroes are totally opposite from each other and in my opinion Lan Ling Wang was way better !

Same chinese wuxia martial arts kind of stuff with good stories. If you liked one you would probably like the other as they are so very similar. Written by the same author Jin Young
