When an adaptation done well

This drama just turned one of the scariest fantasy-romance plots to me, into something so beautiful. I mean... almost every scary presumption that we had in the original Korean movie was straightened out by this drama, especially when Se Gye realizes the beauty of her own curse, the universe chose her because somehow she was the only one who can pull it of while helping other lives. I didn't even think that far.

Everything about this show is very progressive.
⚬ Character-wise, this drama is just full of strong independent women!!! yet not even one obnoxious lead dude!! Ugh, I love this. Not to forget that there are no unimportant supporting roles, everyone had an influence for the main story to grow.
⚬ Story-wise, it was impressive how they didn't drag anything, instead, they brought up the new matters to the table and let the characters develop each episode. Se Gye changing into a boy for the first time finding herself the joy of being someone else, changing into a kid and learn new stuff about her mom while helping the other mother, changing into an ahjumma to let her mom know the truth in the piece, changing into an elderly and let Soe Do Jae learn that he can love her even like that. Everything was impactful.
⚬ Plot twist-wise, I was a bit pissed on the "runaway" cliche, but I do think it's necessary, to shift the story from regret into relief. Plus, Seo Hyun Jin is so good, that I still cry when they break up when I obviously know that they will go back together?

There is nothing I can hate about this drama..... The amazing siblings chemistry, the unbelievable convincing couple of Se Gye & Do Jae, the adorable not so naive couple Eun Ho & Sa Ra, the comical frenemies duo of Woo Mi & Joo Hwan, our lovely King Kang, and all of that equipped with witty dialogues, basically we just finished watching a bomb a** freakin good drama!!! I can't wait to see more of their project in the future❤ ♡ ♥

“Beauty Inside” is a great rom-com drama with a fantasy element! It is a romantic comedy with a beautiful story of unconditional love, self-acceptance, and inner beauty. The actors did a very good job bringing their characters to life to give the viewer an entertaining and heartfelt story. The entire cast seemed to have enjoyed making this drama. The leading couple has great chemistry and their relationship with friends and family members was strong, sweet, funny, and full of love. Overall, this drama delivers great entertainment. Enjoy it!

Not enough story to go around

The first part of this drama was lovely. I thought the characters were well fleshed out and the concept was interesting. Also, Lee Min Ki made my heart flutter with his unique deadpan charm that I love so much. However, after the couple gets together halfway through, there is not much left but filler and fluff. And the fluff isn't even good fluff. It is boring, predictable, repetitive, cringe-y fluff. Like, we get it. They love each other but that's just not interesting enough to keep me interested for eight more episodes. The one conflict towards the end just made the FL seem fickle and immature. Like come on, toughen up and face the problem head-on instead of living up to the rumors and running away, this time for real. That was IMO pretty poorly written.

Couples getting together early in the drama need not be a disaster. It has been done successfully in many other dramas, but this one just failed to deliver writing-wise. I actually ended up skipping through a lot of the main couple's scenes in the second half because it was just them playing cards, jogging, saying I love you. Like okay. Can't you even give us something interesting in which to set all that fluff? The second couple was more interesting in the second half but not that interesting to make it worthwhile.

The main concept of the FL changing faces was IMO also not utilized properly. It all felt like a poorly patched together and thus ill-fitting mishmash of heavy drama suddenly shifting to unfunny comedy (comprised mainly of one character hitting another) suddenly shifting to tasteless and boring fluff. Most importantly, the second half just did not make me feel anything at all. It was like an empty void filled with senseless stuff. This would have worked better if they had ended it at episode 8. There just was nothing much left after that to hold the drama up.

so much lies and hiding!

10 years ago, 20 yo segye woke up in an old woman's body. her body changed during the night. she panicked and went outside not knowing what to do, where to go. during this run she went into an accident, and the man who tried to help her ended up badly hurt, perhaps dead. she fainted and woke up in hospital always in that new body, escaped again to find her friends... today, 30 yo segye is the most followed actress of korea, and every month during 1 week her body changes. she can be anyone, male, female, young or old. this happens any where at unexpected moments, even when she is about to receive an award. she therefor gain the reputation to always run away...

I dropped this drama in episode 3, I watched it again because I wanted to know the end, and I didn’t like it. there are so many lies and secrets! so many running, so many non sens! so many manipulations! Even though things are improving in the end, it’s still not ideal. Bad guys get off the ground in one go, so easy you wonder why they put up with them for so long... it’s just a boring drama. it could have turned so well if the writer had done a better job! the casting was pretty good though and the MFL did a wonderful job.

when to watch: just don't.

This show was amazing in total. I watched it on Viki so I saw other comments. The actors really portrayed their roles very well and it all seemed natural. The music was amazing as well. I loved hearing Davichi and Wendy it helped the mood seem better. The only thing I'm mad about is that we never saw Woo Mi's wedding nor her boyfriend/fiance/husband. But other than that I love love love this show. The second couple was very very VERY cute but I personally preferred the main one because there's seemed more realistic with all the fighting and stuff because most couples fight and make up. I like this one more than the movie for some reason. This one seems more interesting while the movie puts everything in your face at once. Here you gradually get to see the characters develop so it's more fun.

don't hesitate- the perfect easy watch rom com!

I can't tell you how many times I've based on beauty inside - even though I love Lee Da Hee! Sometimes I'm grateful for when the sleeper hits exist because when I'm looking for something to happily binge I come across them and then I'm grateful that I haven't watched them yet.

I was delighted by the pace of the show as well as the fun cameos and interesting storyline. Sure, it's a little far-fetched and there's holes in it, but at the same time some of the best rom-coms are.

While there definitely was the usual time jump and break up episode, overall the couple grew to care and love one another as well as their genuine affection for each other throughout the show and trials really made them a unique couple you were constantly rooting for.

The supporting cast was equally fun. Loved their houses and the fashion was also fantastic.

The show sparkled in all the right ways and is a great one to binge when you need something light and fluffy. Don't miss it!

Amazing story...hard to believe you can survive this.

I wasn't to keen to start watching the show because I'm not very keen on the lead male actor Lee Min-ki, just my personal view. But Hyeon-jin Seo and the rest of the crew made it a really good experience.
The story is great and the way the puzzle comes together is amazing.
Also the last episode usually lets me down on Kdramas as it all come to an end crashing down in the last 2 minutes, but the way it was finished just couldn't have been done better. Especially the way it was done when they were on the beach and she was walking towards him going through all those transformations...just perfect. And the fact that they relay the entire show in 2 minutes during the credits through small cuts...was amazing.
I loved it.
Hope everyone will enjoy it too.

Besides the whole fantasy thing and transformation and the main male leads medical condition; this is what you call in abstract show. To those, it's a little odd and you're like eh. To others, it's absolutely wonderful and it carries so much more meaning to the name and story line; I, myself, am one of those people that have rated this show amazing off of the emotion aspect on its on. You have the main leads that have a wonderful chemistry, the main female leads manager and best friends that are by her side like they're ride or dies, and honestly, the two main leads just make a wonderful connection and relationship. I adore the family even though they seemed rough in the beginning, the secretary that's a male for once and all in all, every single relationship in this show. My heart actually ached at the fact that the worst thing possible happened to the main female lead and I cried and cried my eyes out because the emotion she showed just hit me as if it really happened in real life and I would feel the same way if that happened. This show honestly shows the beauty of every single character that she transforms into, the love and pain of losing someone/something. This show speaks wonders to the production that it was made out of and it was worth so much of my time and effort.

Watch for Lee Min Ki

After “discovering” Lee Min Ki in “Because This is my First Life”, I wanted to watch more of him. *heh*
Thus, I decided to watch “Beauty Inside”.
No regrets!
What I liked:
-Lee Min Ki. He’s kind of scrawny in this drama but he’s still manly and cool.
-The storyline is different from the usual cliched type. It’s all just kind of mad and mysterious but in a good way.
-The female lead’s besties are dream besties.
-Lee Da Hee is so pretty.

What I didn’t like:
-Mysterious plot that has no explanation. I thought that it’ll be explained but nope, it’s just like that. Take it.
-The female lead is okay-okay only. Imo.

Nevertheless, watch!! It’s really one of the better dramas out there.

If you are looking for a cutesy eye candy drama with just a little bit of dreamy fantasy and mystery, go for this one. Do not go looking for logic or serious plot lines or you will end up totally disappointed. Han Se Gye and Do Jae look charming by themselves and together they bring kind of a married couple chemistry to the drama. Kang Sa Ra and Eun Ho had a more interesting story line and at times I was watching it mainly for their story than the main characters. The reason? The main pair fell in love predictably quite early in the show and their romance was too sweet to hold interest, there was no tension and therefore no anticipation for the viewer. Kang Sa Ra character was awesome, i loved her confidence and the way her character evolves through the episodes. I love the way their relationship went with her firmly in the driver seat.
All the characters were charismatic on screen and the wardrobe department would have had a ball dressing them up. Even the cute little puppy had adorable costumes all through the show. Music was pleasant and apt, though not really addictive. This show doesn't have nail biting suspense which makes you binge watch it to completion within couple of days. Rather it was so sickly sweet at times that I couldn't digest beyond an episode or half at a time! There are plenty of fluffy filler scenes to satisfy all romantic hearts, especially fans of the main leads. It is a one time slow watch you leave with some pleasant feels but nothing unforgettable down the line.

loved it but final 3 episodes (3 hours)felt like fluff with no real progress to the plot.

I LOVED it but have to say that the final 3 episodes felt like "filler" episodes where not much happened. It was weird and felt like fluff was just tacked on to the end because they didn't think through where the plot should lead.
I had a lot of unanswered questions as well about the FL's condition.
Why did it start at 20?
Why did she turn at all?
Why was it suddenly so sporadic at the end of the show when it had been monthly (without fail) for 10 years straight?
Was she supposed to be helping people every time she turned and she just never knew it? Like when she helped that grieving mother and that teen girl? Hmmmm
Those final three episodes could've been used in a much more constructive way. BUT I still adored the story, the acting, and so on.

For a comedy, this show made me cry way more than it made me laugh (be sure to have some tissues handy, especially for episode 10, that's a rough one).

Also, I unexpectedly ended up liking the secondary couple more than the main one (they were so freaking adorable!)

This was my first time watching Seo Hyun-Jin, and I gotta say she's an amazing actress. I don't think I've ever seen anyone else cry so convincingly! The bad side to that was that by comparison Lee Min-Ki seemed really wooden and dry. And while I get his character was supposed to be stoic, I feel like Park Seo-Joon played that type of character much better in What's Wrong with Secretary Kim. He was a bit of a disappointment to me.

Another disappointment was how weakly the very last conflict was approached. It was basically thrown out there and then resolved with lightning speed. Made the last three episodes seem a bit pointless.

But the drama was interesting enough. I loved all the little side adventures Se-Gye did while her face was different. And the soundtrack was awesome, too!
