Based on a true story, "Yamanai Ame wa Nai" tells the story of famous weather forecaster Kurashima Atsushi who learns that he has throat cancer. For Atsushi, this all the more devastating because without his voice he can't work as a weather forecaster. Atushi learns that even if his surgery is successful there is still a fifty percent chance he could lose his voice. Yet, with the tender care and support from his devoted wife Yasuko, Atsushi is able to overcome cancer.
