Fun and easy to watch

Just one word: funny. I laughed on almost every episode for this drama. This is so entertaining to watch, especially when you're just stranded at home in this pandemic and can't go out. Every episode is only about 20 minutes (minus the opening and closing theme song), so it's easy to binge watch the drama. I initially watch this drama because of Xiao Zhan, but ended up liking many of the characters. My first Zhao Lu Si drama and she is so funny in most scenes that she's in. The story is about time travel, similar to Scarlett Heart and The Eternal Love, but this one is more entertaining and easier to digest. I like the ending theme as well, so I never skip the songs.

Review for both seasons

First, I have to mention that I rated the first season 8/10 and the second 6.5/10. The first season has all the classic romcom aspects: love triangle, lots of comedy and romance. It's a quick watch and so much fun. The second season on the other hand was a bit more bland compared to that. They dived a bit more into the political aspect but still only on a quite superficial matter. There was no real conflict for the leads anymore and I think that's when I realised that they actually don't have a lot of chemistry and ML acting like a log all the time gets tiring. I loved the light-heartedness and the drama not taking itself too seriously, but the ending was complete nonsense if we're being honest.
The biggest negative point: the sound management. Whoever was sound director for this drama needs to get fired. It was ridiculous how much the quality changed even within one scene and don't let me get started on sound effects.
What seriously saved and improved the whole drama was FL's acting. Zhao Lu Si is just such a fun comedy actress with such a catching laugh. If it weren't for her, I think the drama would've only been half as good.

I am super glad I decided to watch this drama. Not only is this drama a very quick watch (21 eps at about 20 minutes of watch time per ep), but you can tell there is a chemistry between the male actors as they are all from a C-POP boy group, X NINE. I am not sure if this drama is supposed to be serious or silly, but I enjoyed this first season because even though there was some wild scenes with soldiers being murdered, the fighting scenes made me laugh so hard!! Even though the acting was not the greatest, you can tell that the actors are very close and they are enjoying their roles and acting with one another. I think it would have been worth a 7.5/10, but then you have that WILD ending!

Overall, I think my favorite characters would have to be the emperor's younger brother, the Prince (Aquarius) and the emperor's uncle's right hand, Gemini. Even though Gemini doesn't have many scenes, he bring this quiet sass to his role that he absolutely destroys at!! I think Aquarius is my favorite character though. From the beginning he is this charismatic and fun character who plots and gossips with our main character Fei Fei. Plus, even though he is goofy 99% of the time, he does have his serious moment where he is this badass fighter who can keep up with Leo, the general of Pieces's army. I feel bad for not thinking my sign, Leo, is the best character even though she is one of the few women zodiac members, but she is growing on me in season 2. Also, Aquarius acts like a little and big brother to Fei Fei - he follows her around and always supports her ideas, but he also takes the initiative to help her and his older brother get together. Not only that, but when all things look grim for Fei Fei after finding out a big secret, he is the first person to pick her side when the person she loves didn't. It might be from having no sense of responsibility since he is the second in line for the throne, but of all the zodiac members, I believe Aquarius has the most faith and loyalty for people, including Fei Fei. Plus, you know...his smile <3

Then we have the two love interests of Fei Fei - the emperor, Capricorn - Bei Tang Yi, and the emperor's uncle, Pisces - Bei Tang Tang (who I swear his name is Chen in the drama). Even though The Emperor technically saved Fei Fei in ep 1 from drowning when she was teleport-ed , his uncle, Chen, is the one who sheltered her and continuously gives her protection from the emperor, who really wanted to execute her in the beginning of the drama. He is very gentle towards her and continuously tells and proves to her that he likes her, but it is super hard for me to ship them after Fei Fei befriended Cancer, who is in love with Chen, but is engaged to the emperor. But I do feel bad because he was heartbroken when the emperor basically put his claim on Fei Fei, even though he didn't admit he liked her for the longest time and did the whole middle school crush thing with her. I would say that I hope we get to see a more complicated love triangle in season two, but I don't think we will get that. As for the emperor...I have mixed feelings with him. Not only does he do the middle school crush thing, but he plays up the innocent virgin stereotype who doesn't know what to do so he locks her up in his dungeon. I kind of dislike how they poke fun at him for that for a few episodes, but I guess we are going for a middle school humor for this drama. Since the emperor has no idea what he is doing even though Fei Fei tells him what to do, he is very hot and cold, which leads us to the ending, where I lightweight blamed him for Fei Fei's fate, even though it is an important plot point starting season 2. It is very hard to read him as he has a single facial expression. I think he has issues trust people completely, but no idea why because we don't get much of a backstory with him. But I guess there really isn't a follow through with anything in this drama as everyone knew that Fei Fei had a power that canceled out the zodiac's power...yet no one thought it was, I don't know....weird?? Healing powers though...yeah...that sparked from concern from everyone!! Like I feel like the canceling of powers would be more concerning that a healing power...but that is just me.

I am excited to continue watching season two! It looks like it will be good and Fei Fei will take on more of a leader role in this!

Absolutely love it!

This series has absolutely so much humor and cheekiness in it. Couldn´t stopped laughing even from the 1st episode itself! But then again, series with Zhao Lusi is always nice and refreshing without that much of stressy drama. A time travelling series, this is indeed a very interesting series to watch - with alot of funny moments, slight romance and definitely no extreme stressy drama - and I would definitely recommend it. Spanning 2 seasons, it has remarkable storyline, awesome paired music and the entire cast definitely did an awesome job with this series. The male lead is especially good, without his always expressionless facial features.

Wait, what?

So, I watched for Luosi but this imo, is not her strongest drama.

It a bit lacking on something tho it is super fun how FL kept throwing herself to the ML thinking he was her idol from her universe and how he slowly intrigued with her move and starts getting head over hills over her too.

I tend to skip a lot of part, mostly on the scene about the Zodiac State government issues.
But the FL & ML sweet moments are not to be skipped! And all the side couples have interesting storyline too.
I'm sad to FL2 for not able to get the attention of the 2ML and it is really heartwrenching (by now I forgot is it in S2 or S1, but let me drop it here too).

It is only rewatching value on the romance of FL&ML but not for overall view.
I finished 2 seasons in 1 day - it tells how I'm not invest into the drama.

Probably the lacking of acting skills on some of the cast. I love the man who is with Dali, his acting skills are great and they are the cutest couple!

The OST was superb btw.

Overall, this is not the most awesome drama to watch but it is very light watch if you are looking for rom-com drama.

Quality is lacking, but LOVE the FL lead

As I’m waiting for some dramas to finish airing, I decided to pick up an old drama. It has a lower budget and really bad audio, BUT I love Zhao Lu Si and I’ll watch anything she is in.

So, going into this drama, I had the mindset of really low quality historical drama. I’ve seen some modern pieces with really bad audio and it’s always been fine, but this one is at a next level. You have some scenes that have no audio because they didn’t want to do all the sounds so they replace it with music. You have really bad slashes and crashes during fight scenes. Just don’t go into the drama with the best production quality.

The costumes are very repetitive and since it’s an older drama, it’s not the best. I’m a sucker for pretty costumes and don’t even get into the sets! The color combo of green and yellow is so out there.

Okay, so the drama is slap-stick comedy. The FL transported from modern world into back in time. She was in the medical field and I kind of wished they played on that more. The first season is about the FL getting use to the new world.

There is a love triangle between the Crowned Prince and the Prince’s uncle. I really enjoy the love triangle, because it’s cheesy C drama troupe I gobble up.

The star of the show is Zhao Lu Si, she knows how to do comedy and she knows how to do it well. I love her light voice, bubbly face and she is kind of fierce in the drama.

I actually enjoyed the ending of season 1 because it was a little serious and really set the right cliff-hanger.

Overall, the quality is lacking, but if you want slap-stick comedy with an awesome main lead. Well, it will pass the time for you and give you a chuckle here and there.

A GREAT, nice, funny series (TT & Romantic) with Xiao Zhan + friends & Zhao Lusi

EXCELLENT romantic series , Time Travel and fantasy, with Zhao Lusi, Xiao Zhan and his friends from X-nine, particulary Jason Gu (the ML).

PLOT: FL, a 21st century medical intern, is sent under a meteor shower to the Zodiac Kingdom. This kingdom is led by 12 Zodiac masters, including the emperor (the ML = Jason Gu), each one with a super power. Love triangles, rivalries at Court. The FL discovers that she is the Lady Star of the 13th sign, the Serpent, banished and whose members are forced to hide.

PROS:
+ Great great acting
+ Lively, dynamic production
+ Good quality CGI
+ awesome OSTs (mainly provided by X-Nine, Zhao Lusi & Xiao Zhan => Now on my playlist ╰(✿´⌣`✿)╯♡)

CONS:
- I don't know the budget, but the sets are a bit "cardboard"

=> The 20 episodes of 25 minutes go by too quickly and I'm HEADING towards season 2 (。◕‿◕。)

Funny no brained drama

This is review a seasons 1&2 ( they are not separated on wiki).

This is a nice drama if you are bored and do not want to think overthing.
The storyline is pretty light for the most part. You are not faced with overwhelming court schemes.
The main villain doesn't even stick out.

One pisode is about 20 minutes long. and are well- paced .Not one episode made me feel like the story was dragging.

All charactere a quickly introduced in the 1rst episode, so rapidly that i still don't remember their name. But the seconds lead (M and F) do have more personnality and are not as plain. The female lead may be a bit annoying.

The set fell like the production was a low-cost and the CGI are poorly done. In some way, it reinforces the comedy side's.

One pisode is about 20 minutes long. and are well- paced .Not one episode made me feel like the story is dragging.

To concluded, watch this drama if you are looking for something light, romantic, funny and easy to watch.

Just for fun and expect to laugh out loud

I rewatched this dram twice and watched selected clips severla times apecially that of Zhao Zhan and Zhao lusi 's. I watched all of Zhao Lusi's dramas so there goes my bias. Lol! I just love it. It is very entertaining and love costume dramas in general. I was really hoping for Zhao lusi and zhan to be the main leads but despite this, i still enjoyed this drama. I love all the Zodiac team's characters and how they behaved. Being Zhao Lusi's first female lead role, she did a great job. More power to her!

Writing review of both the season

Starting of the drama when Fei Fei got accident she fell on the bridge and how come she drowning in water not get this part but then story started was good and ending first season and start of second very well linked but waiting for uncle (Moron) and Yaran love story to start but it was not in season2 too that upset me with the story .All other characters are so cool ...but the end of drama when lead actor come to her life back with the dialogue that I will punish you if you talk about other man that was also cool but actually I want to know how he come to her world ,how? That not shown with the ending part .
Rest is good.

Oh my emperor

Dello stesso filone, The romance of Tiger and Rose ne vale mille, però.
