Considering that this is a movie adaptation from a manga, I already expected that the story line would go by fast! Also, I have read the manga but i find that the scenes are not really similar to the manga, but nonetheless I enjoyed it. Even better than the manga in my opinion!

The only thing missing for me in this movie was the story development. The plot was cute and even funny at times! I just hope they had shown how the feelings of the characters grew more for each other. It would have made it even better.

The actors have so-so acting skills, but i liked how their acting wasn't too exaggerated like some other manga adaptations.

Overall, I don't think it was a bad movie like a lot of people has been saying. It is a light shoujo, rom-com with a little twist! Don't expect too much from it guys. Just take this movie with a grain of salt, and you'll have something in this movie that you'd at least like and smile about. I advise you guys to watch this when you want something fluff or light.

[WARNING: the rating and review I give have the possibility to be subjective due to my preference for the genres, scenes or casts]

Since this movie have a short drama with the same title, I'll review them both, so my review here will be the same for the short drama.

For me, the story is quite good. I didn't read the manga yet, so maybe I didn't have high expectation on this. But, even this movie is good enough for me, still I feel something missing. I don't know, maybe the chemistry.

The casts’ acting are good, but in my opinion, Tamashiro Tina often act a little bit stiff and seems to forced his acting.

Delightful waste - objectively bad but enjoyable

This movie is about the story of cellphone novelist Yukina Himuro who decides to blackmail the most popular boy from her high school to gain romantic experience through various "love missions". It is a condensed version of old school shojo manga tropes, so despite the overall toxicity, woman manhandling and non-consensual elements, I quite enjoyed the movie because (or thanks to) the nostalgia throwback.

The acting is overall okay but far from stellar. The main actor and actress are charismatic enough especially when playing the more "odd" and "dark" parts of their characters but the script does not give them a lot of room to show growth or realistic emotions. The antagonist role would have really benefited of more nuance in the acting as well but it was clearly not the vibe the director was going for. The overall production value is pretty low, you feel the low budget in the background and decor. It is suitable for the genre but also quite uninspired.

I would not recommend this because it is objectively not good. It enters the category of delightful waste, you might hate it, watch ironically (or even maybe unironically enjoy it for what it is) but there are for sure better high school romance out there.

I haven’t read the manga but did watch the drama, which I found the movie much better. This movie was one of those movie I actually liked, and not because of the stupidity in it but the overall movie. It was good, not great but good. It’s a movie I would recommend to girly-love story lovers. I actually had to pause half way for about 8hours and was quite inpatient and excited to watch the rest. My low rate on rewatch isn’t because of the movie itself but in general I avoid watching any drama or movie more than once.

I had read the manga just a few months ago and I overall disliked the manga for its plain stupidity and cliche. It wasn't even any cute cliche which you would normally go along with- it was disturbingly cliche.

So, when I discovered that the manga was having a live adaptation, I had a slight expectation that the movie would hopefully come out better, since there are times an adaptation comes out better than what it originally is adapted from. However, the movie let me down too. Worse than the Manga.

First of all, the story pace felt rushed right at the beginning of the movie. The female main character was somewhat annoying and puzzled (The actress wasn't bad) and the male lead was just another typical cliche character. There were many unnecessary parts in the movie and some small things they added in the movie which were absent in the Manga felt useless too.

I know that comparing an adaptation with the original work isn't a cool thing to do since it's just an adaptation. But seeing how I disliked the Manga, it was somewhat obvious that I would dislike the movie adaptation too. And believe me, even if you watch it without reading the manga, you still won't like it.
The only tad-bit positive part I found in the movie was the Opening theme song, I guess. That wasn't bad.

All I have left to say is that- I don't recommend this movie to anyone. However, it is totally up to whether you should watch it or not since people have different tastes and rejecting to watch something just by a review is kinda wrong. You should check it out yourself to see whether it matches your taste or not. But to my assumption, it probably won't.

I hope this review was helpful to you :)

My only big problem with this movie was that everything happened in a heartbeat. Overall, it wasn't bad. The story wasn't something a fan of shoujo manga-movies hasn't seen before, but there were some solid potential for the love story, that otherwise was cute and funny. The acting was okay as well. The cinematography, in addition, was just good, as there were some "manga" moments here and there that were nicely combined with the rest of the plot. Finally, I have to point out that the poster of the movie had nothing to do really with the movie, as that scene never happened (maybe it happened in the mini drama ?? ) So, four out of ten.

I really enjoyed this movie. It's not a heavy drama, but it's fun. The story is pretty basic, but at the same time I thought it was a fun twist on a school drama. It was kind of cool to see the girl just flat out decide to learn about love without being all giggly. More like a scientific approach...at least in the beginning.

The acting is good. The 2nd female lead character is not in the show much at all...which in this story was a good thing. The "bad guy" isn't so awful you can't watch him (as I often find evil characters tough to watch, this is important to me).

My one complaint is that I wish that the ML and FL had been able to have a couple more scenes where they were just talking about life and learning about each other. The movie is fairly short so they could have had time for them. It's fine the way it is, but at the same time, the romance would seem more natural if there had been a couple more scenes like that, in my opinion.

All in all, I enjoyed the movie!

A watchworthy but a little bit cheesy movie

I really enjoyed watching it though the events happened a bit too fast for a single movie. They could have split it into two or three parts to slow things down, because I wish it had gone a little bit more in detail. Giving the audience more room to breath, and such.
Otherwise I'd recommend it since the idea behind was very unique and not exactly like ordinary shoujo(?) movies.
Of course, in that genre, stereotypes and a higher level of cheesiness is inevitable, still it could make some of you cringe. If you're not into that, its not the right movie for you.

Not single 1 kiss in this*

In "Missions Of Love", out of all the missions, mission number 3 is kiss already. So, things looked like this movie should be cool and no waiting for number of episodes for nothing like in dramas, but! It doesn't happen. Then, what were missions 4 an on about? Nothing happens with the lead boy or any other boy.. (Like the lead from 'Mischievous Kiss'!)

The ending was probably intended to be moving, but it didn't work on me really, it kind of lost the spark a long while along:) It was just funny there was not much about which she could write "a novel".

*I'm not counting the ending credits kiss & I think they kissed each other right above/below the mouth anyways:)

about average

Ok, so I didn't hate it. But I'm not super keen on blackmail romances, so that part felt a bit icky.

HOWEVER, I felt like the FL took responsibility for her actions and was genuinely penitent for hurting the ML. I appreciated that.

Is the movie anything hugely memorable? Probably not. But it was still an entertaining watch the one time. Like someone in the comments said, it's fine to watch if you've really got nothing else to watch at the moment.

One other thing. The movie poster is hilarious. If you're going to watch the movie just for that scene, don't bother because there is no such scene. Misadvertisement is so funny!
