Sugata Kentaro used to be one of the most hopeful trainee to be a professional Shogi (Japanese chess) player, but fails at the final test. Now he has become a "Shinkenshi," a gambler who plays Shogi for money, and boasts his 182 wins in a row. But he is devastated when he is beaten completely by a young woman known as "Ukeshi" who takes any challenges and never loses. As Shogi means everything to him, he decides to train himself harder to become the strongest player. Based on a popular comic, this comedy drama is about a young man's exciting journey to reorganize his life through a series of tough challenges in Shogi guided by a mysterious girl.

This drama was very unique to me since I had never seen one about shogi. Heck I didn't even know what shogi was until I saw this drama. I loved how the actors were really into their roles. Naka Riisa was really able to convince us with her dual personalities as the shogi champ and the maid. The suspensful "gaming" music was pretty cool too. And I do not like to rewatch dramas much because I feel uneasy watching it twice. Even after putting so many tens on this review I still gave it an eight because there are a few moments in some episodes where I was bored and stared off but those moments were brief. Overall I think people should give it a chance it makes you laugh once in a while.
