Parfait Tic (2018)

Keep in mind that I haven't read the manga. Thank you.

The events of the drama:
- Two high-school boys (cousins) move in to an apartment in the same building where the heroine (lets call her Yoyo) resides. One is cheerful/friendly (lets call him Smiley), and the other is Grumpy (lets call him that).
- So the Yoyo starts liking Smiley and confesses her feelings to him. But Smiley tells her that he doesn't believe in love and breaks her heart.
- Yoyo gets all sad/weepy whenever she sees Smiley. Grumpy jumps in and comfort Yoyo by telling her that he likes her and she should become his girlfriend. After a couple of therapeutic sessions (aka kind words from Grumpy + a hair-pin gift she receives from him), she starts to fall for him and they become a couple.
- However, Grumpy's ex-girlfriend appears and he starts going out with her because -in his words, not mine- "she is weak" and needs him. So he tells Yoyo that he loves her but he still has feelings for his ex. Therefore, he breaks-up with Yoyo to sort out his feelings for his (older + has a boyfriend) ex.
- Smiley takes this chance to jump back into the game! He comforts Yoyo and confesses that after he turned her down, he realized he loved her. *ehem*
- Yoyo gets all confused and sad/weepy again. This time she tells Smiley that she still likes Grumpy but will try to get over him by dating Smiley.
- Grumpy confront his ex: "who are we kidding? you love your boyfriend, so go be with him! We both need to be with who we want to be with!" Yeah, they break-up and Grumpy (the stone-head) doesn't realize that Yoyo is going out with Smiley to forget him, so he doesn't tell anyone that he broke-up with his ex.
- Time goes by and Grumpy tells Yoyo that he still loves her and that his ex is history. Smiley spots them very close to each other and runs to hit Grumpy on the face. Yoyo tells him to stop! Smiley goes away all grumpy.
- Anyways, now both guys want Yoyo and she can't decide which one she likes because she doesn't want to lose one of them. But then Sad-Smiley tells her that he hates himself when he is with her because of all the jealousy he feels when she is with Grumpy. So he breaks up with her.
- Grumpy tries to win her back but Yoyo won't make a damn decision. Then Smiley tells her that his grandfather wants one of them (him or Grumpy) to travel and take over the family business, so whoever she wants will stay.
- Yoyo can't do it! She can't lose them! Smiley says he will go but Grumpy decides to be noble and leave because he realized that she likes Smiley more.
- In the end Yoyo is happy because she didn't lose both guys! yay! WHAT?!!!

Comment:
Yoyo is a very disappointing character. She should have moved on when from the first time both guys broke it off with her. To be honest, both Grumpy and Smiley are not that great anyways. Okay, both of them helped her when she needed to find someone to adopt a dog (she found) but that's it. There was no depth in her relationship and no real talk about family and life with both guys. Perfect for increasing blood pressure.

Weird love triangle

This probably has the worst FL I've ever seen. She made me so frustrated, falling in love too easily. Then she kept switching her shallow love between the cousins, letting one cousin console her when the other broke her heart, then she'll fall in love with that cousin and get brokenhearted all over again. I was not convinced with her final choice because she probably will like the other cousin again. The two boys are teases, they make a girl fall in love then drop her midway. If you just want longing looks, quick flutters, accidental kisses, yes this drama has that. But for story depth and character development, go look somewhere else.

Complicated Love Story

The story revolves around the lives of a girl and two boys who are cousins, and their love triangle.
Fuuko initially falls for the playboy Daiya. Unfortunately, her first love is an unrequited love. Daiya claims he does not know what 'being in love' feels like. Suffering from her first heartbreak, she receives unexpected support from Ichi. Although he seems cold, Ichi actually is in love with Fuuko. The two spend more and more time together, and Fuuko discovers she has feelings for Ichi too.


I could not image being that girl. Maybe if it was me, I would be a heart broken one. Cause the boys keep playing her heart. Even she can move on for the first guy again.
I hate the drama cause the ending not so clear. Cause so many things can happened. They are just 16 yo.
But I love them playing their role.

One warning about this drama: don't expect too much!! I guess the only thing that was positive about this one was the performances. All the actors and actresses of this one were decent and better than the standards of this drama. Now, not that the execution wasn't good. At least they didn't fall for the manga-anime like trop with the exaggeration of emotions and situations. However, the story was a cliche fest. The love triangle was just tiring to watch and there was nothingh unpredictable about this one. The twists were idiotic, as the girl could not have possibly got over someone so fast, but played the hard to get for a good length of four episodes after that. Okay, maybe I'm too harsh with this one. If it was a 4 or 5 episode series, maybe the story wouldn't have to repeat the twists over and over and make the characters into irrational love fools. But the 10 episodes killed it.

Ping pong love story

There seems to be a shortage of new story ideas in Japanese manga because the young girl torn between two love interests has been constantly reused. This series offers nothing new or particularly interesting. I am not sure why I watched to the end other than to try to figure out who Fuuko ends up with. I found the most interesting thing to be the sweeping snow scenery at the end of each episode which seemed to last about 10 minutes. Throughout the series you watch Fukko fall in love and out of love with Shinpo cousins, Daiya and Ichi. Episode two she’s in love with Daiya. By episode four she’s in love with Ichi. Included is superficial and cheesy dialogue like “I will protect you”, etc. Fukko is a weak and needy character who spends all her time crying over one cousin or the other. She has no inner strength or redeeming characteristics as far as I can see except she likes children and doing hair. Which if you know Japanese traditional stereotypes- female characters are well regarded for their traditional abilities like sewing, handiwork, motherly abilities etc. The worst thing about the series is the music. I had to turn the audio off every time it launched into the sappy love song. There are so many better Japanese series of a similar type including Two Loves Under One Roof and the Flower and the Beast. Don’t waste your time with this.

Ok.
Foi a decepção do ano. De boas.
Manxs, não sei vocês, mas fui com muita felicidade olhar esse drama novo, pra me desapontar pra burro!
O drama é ok. Não é a história mais criativa do mundo ou que faz com que você não queira parar de olhar. Na verdade, dropei ele muitas vezes antes de finalmente terminar,
Sobre o elenco, nada de muito surpreendente. Achei mesmo que ela terminaria com o Shinpo Ichi, seguindo a linha de quase todo drama japonês... Mas olha só que audácia, no fim, eles ficam todos amiguinhos e é isso.
Não achei ruim por eles não terem ficado juntos - ok, isso foi ruim também - mas porque não há uma logica para isso. A Kameyama Fuuko gostava sim dos dois, mas na minha concepção, era bem claro que ela gostava muito mais do Daiya, o que não traria confusão para sua cabecinha.

É um drama okay, que dá pra se olhar quando não tem nada pra fazer, mas não vá com muita esperança, o desapontamento é grande.
