Let me tell you... it was tough. Our ML was annoying and immature all the way through season one. He got better in season two, but was still way more immature than I like MLs to be: Case in point, he almost never actually cultivated and practiced or did anything to grow his powers... all his "upgrades" were given to him by others.
The FL grew... she outpaced him really.
By the end, the show still had my grudging attention, but it wasn't the best of shows I've seen by far. Even the ending, though theoretically happy, was somewhat slap dash.
I give out 7 out of 10... watch if you have nothing better to do.

Second Season is So Much Better
First season I got a bit annoyed by main character but it was supposed to be I guess for character development. Lin dong acting was also funny at the same time so I didn't mind.But suddenly the fun vibe started to diminish and things got serious especially Huan Huan and Lin Dong story.
I am glad Huan Huan's love actually get fulfilled , I was worried the other main girl will get the love of Lin.
End of first season and second season is best, it very much show how Lin Dong feels about Huan Huan and their love made me cry!!! If you are used to anime, first season kind of remind me of that vibe. At least the second season ended with a good note in the end.
I wished they make more series!

I will start with I have no idea what the source material is, but the show was bad and sometimes borderline terrible.The story is about Lin Ding who by the end of the show I affectionately call Ding Dong. Ding Dong is the successor of Fu Zu and has to save the world from demons. Nothing too original. Along the way he loses a "brother" gains a fairy girl, a wild girl, a marten who looks like a weasel, and fire tiger and some other people.
For character development. Ding Dong has no power at the beginning but has a good heart and wants to protect people which he generally fails at. His character is better in season 2 and shows some development but he really doesn't change and basically remains a ding dong. The brother is selfish and an egomaniac so of course he becomes the bug bad demon. He looked good, but that is about all I can say. Fairy girl i don't even care to remember her name starts of as a strong chatacter but in the end is just whiney and annoying. Marten/weseal and fire tiger are beast in human forms. They are fun to watch but not in the show enough. Old man Yuan is basically useless and a pervert. Wild girl or Ice Maiden is the only person that seems to develop as a character. She starts off as annoying, then you like her and then she is the only adult in the show making tough decisions to save the world. Of course she is the one that doesn't "survive". Is it bad to say my favorite character was the prince of the human realm and he was only in the show for like 5 episodes?
Music is fine, special effects were decent.
Would I watch the show again, a strong most likely never. Was it the worst show I've ever seen, not really. Would I recommend it no. It really did not get interesting until season 2 so 40 episodes of telling the tv that everyone is stupid. Then again they are all still stupid in season 2 but at least it's only 20 episodes so at least the suffering is quicker.

When I saw this series some point come to mind1. Eather some scenes wasn't shoot or that was editor' problem
2. Realy can't understand what's happening in the scenes, which are not related and unwanted things keep happening throughout the series.
3. Childish acting which may be problem of director or actors themselves.
4. The protagonist of the drama seems to be too week to fight against antagonist though he got special training by his master and he had many weapon. Sometimes he seems to powerful that he can crush antagonist in one attack and sometimes he feels like an ordinary man. He got too many power but he can't fight against antagonist that I can't understand.
5. There is no logic in this drama series at all.
6. What happened to Lin langtian? what I saw I think Lin dong didn't kill him, then what's the use of these whole gourney. Lin langtian killed so many innocent people he needed to be punnished.
7. I wanted to give zero star but I can't.
