Both shows deal with corrupt politicians vying to obtain evidence to take one another down. While Designated Survivor contains significantly less action, the plots regarding the plotting politicians are very similar.

both have different plot but both are same in huge conspiracy like bluehouse-bomb-blast/plane-crash which involve higher authorities. which Shock the main characters as they investigate, reveals the truth they had not even expected/imagine . both story goes around blue house , country president, national investigation service and both have Female Lead NIS agent

vagabond is more action packed drama than designated

both have similar situations: politic, powerful people behind scenes, puppet politicians, agents, conspiracy, power struggle, enemies and allies ... multilayered characters and unexpected situations/story developments, when you don't know who is whose enemy or ally, what will happen next...

in both dramas there are characters who you start hating/loving in the beginning but then change your mind, or often you just don't know are they good or bad.
also in both dramas we have "bad person" characters who are so smart, strong and charismatic we love/hate them....

overall both dramas are "multi mains", with many well developed characters, so we could say they are mains. neither of this dramas are one or two character shows, though in K2 we have more obvious male lead and he is above all.

both have strong women characters, though SFL in the K2 is incomparable.

both have little romance as side story (though in DS60D it's really side story and very little, when in K2 romance was forced to be more on front and I think it was main issue with that great drama)

****Main difference is: K2 has lots of actions and badass/physically fighting ML who is center of the show, so drama is somehow more "adventure". But if you liked K2 not only character K2, then this drama is also for you.

High politics in an engaging way. Almost no romance to distract from the exciting bigger plot. Lots of characters to love, hate or simply love to hate. Close knit team of hardworkers coming together.

We have some of the main characters in this show. Ji Jin Hee and Son Sok Ku. Their chemistry was insane throughout the whole drama. This is hands down the best political kdrama out there. Even if you are not a fan of political dramas. The comments section is full of such good reviews. You definitely gotta watch it. The character development, the chemistry, the story, the thriller element was on point.

a country president position is full of responsibility every time personal and professional life at stake it is more if you are non political background how a person who is professionally scientist/teacher run government in such circumstances its interesting to watch

Nothing alike in terms of plot.
Vibe is the same in both shows tho, with an inexperienced and unqualified MC.
They you'll down on you, you'll prove them wrong. Things won't go your way but you'll overcome anything. They spit at you, just spit back...

Great whole cast, lovable. Hardworkers teaming up for the best. Very satisfying to watch

- similar vibes where there's a "central disaster" revolving around politics
- both involve conspiracy and the government
- lots of mindgames & deception
- both suspense/thriller, though money heist is more for mature audiences
- both are adaptations from original shows

- both are built around a terrorist attack
- political, action-packed thriller
- overall, i got pretty similar feelings and vibes while watching this. both are 10/10 in my books, especially if you enjoy genres like these
- one of the actors (lee moosaeng) also played a major part in both series. if you like him, that's a plus

Unexpected unpopular underdog rises to the occasion. Makes it work with the help of those around him.

Not exactly alike but both 1)involve political intrigue/power play and carry a similar undercurrent of justice and what it means for a nation. Both consist of a few touching/emotional moments of men who truly want the best for the people 2)an underdog's pursuit of truth/justice with some loyal supporters by his side and 3)antagonists who believe the end justifies the means.

The scale (country vs small city) and the tone (political thriller vs romcom melo) differ significantly, but both are politics heavy shows and feature naive, inexperienced and well-meaning protagonists who come into power and succeed despite tough circumstances.

The main lead in this drama is also the same main actor of Undercover. Although it's 2 different stories it gives off similar vibes.
