Great drama if you’re PATIENT

I loved the Tae Ju/MiRi pairing and their story. When I saw the “Evil Mother in Law” tag I was confused at first because none of the elder women were that bad, I know In Soo had her issues. Then they introduced Tae Ju’s step-mom and it clicked. The actress was really pretty but I hated her guts? The chairman was horrible too but MiRi’s mom and In So would put the fear of god in him and I loved it? I honestly skipped around the first 50 or so episodes. I think the story and the characters really started to develop after the wedding in ep. 60. I was invested at that point that I mostly watched the full episodes. Mi Hye and her love interests story was nice too, they are the complete opposite of eachother but it worked. Mi Sun, Da Bin and Jinsoo became one of my favorite stories to watch once Jinsoo began to mature a little and I loved the little mischief he and Da Bin got into when he began spending more time with her. Nothing really changes with Mi Suns in laws which I didn’t expect since they are the old married couple but their scenes add a lot of relief to the intense storylines that began to occur. Last but not least I loved In Soo when the show completed. At the start you see her in one way and you wonder why Tae Ju is so kind after being raised by her but as her layers begin to unravel you see that she is loyal to her family to a fault and devoted to TaeJu and MiRi’s happiness and well being. She just had a lot of regrets but once all that weight had been lifted I loved her and you’ll notice too that how she goes about doing things has never changed. None of the elders in the show ever really changed much in the end but rather learned to let their kids live their lives and just provide support. I’d honestly give this drama an 8/10

The series starts off at a great pace and initially seem like it was going to be really good, however finishing this series has been very torturous for me. Up to episode 75 it was like watching and waiting for something to drop. To explain further we have all seen those series that have mysteries or secrets attached to the lives of its characters. There’s nothing wrong with them however I’m absolutely not a fan of drawn out reveals. It’s almost not interesting for me because I know when the reveal takes place everything shifts so I spend the entire time waiting for the turning point which I know is coming. Sadly for this series the reveal took place after 75 episodes out of 100 to and it’s still not completely revealed. The supporting cast characters were absolutely annoying. the older sister’s character was rude and inconsiderate and her husband behaved so much like a teenager that you only cringed when there were things with him in it. And I sincerely mean Cringe. his behavior was so immature that it was absolutely unrealistic for his age, it was extreme. the younger sisters character was immature as well. It sincerely seem to me that the supporting cast characters were severely immature and it teetered on the line of tantrums and spoil brats. The supporting cast of characters someone set the life out of the series not to mention it’s 100 episodes. There are almost no peaceful moments within the series. I am convinced that this drama is 90% tension, 4% romance I am 6% weirdness. If you like dramas that are packed with the drama and nothing more this might be a perfect thing for you however if you’re looking for a blend of family, drama and romance this is absolutely not it. Be warned because you can get hooked on the middle sisters storyline but the supporting cast characters almost makes it not worth it. By episode five I started to fast forward through the scenes with the younger sister, but episode 30 I was annoyed with the older sister‘s husband. These two have the emotional capacity of a teenager that was going through a life crisis. Absolutely weird and toooo much.

Mi Hye’s story was my personal favorite!!

I would give at least a 9, if I was to rate the drama only on that part.

They used to call her a genius at the work she did, but she had big trouble concentrating. When she was all over the place, in a slump, hopeless at doing a good job, she met her savior who eventually becomes her sweetheart. And the rest is very lovely.

They made my heart flutter till the end. The way they smile and look at each other.
They had their differences, but they made it up by holding each other.
The two were very sincere. I felt how much they loved even when they were fighting. They are for each other, even when against each other.

Kim Woojin 'pyeonjibjangnim' and Kang Mihye, I can't get enough of them.

And Bang Jae Bum was the best jealous second lead. SO Funny all the time. I loved his pairing with the mom too. Doldam and Peter were cute. I went through the rest of the drama only for those in Mi Hye’s story.

The other stories were not that good. But the mothers and daughters emotions were there..

Mi Ri story started off well but then became uninteresting for me.
Mi Sun’s husband and in-laws served as some comedy, especially the old grandpa and his wife being at home.

And I liked the OST a lot

There was an attempt...

Well, I hated all the mothers in the drama. The writer did a really poor job with that theme. Subsequently, the mother-daughter relationships were neglected for too long and only were given attention around the last chunk of episodes. I wasn't a fan of the ending either, they created an event later on just so that the drama would have a climax instead of having a coherent story that leads to a natural climax (more in spoilers).

There's a big problem with all the pairings/characters. Both ML and FL had zero chemistry and straight up bad romance. They were the worst part of the drama. The FL cutting off her hair to display a change is nothing but laughable. Mi Sun and her man-child were one of the most boring stories out there. Woo Jin was too goddamn dry of a character, the writer must have hated him. Mi Hye needed to have some brain. We didn't get to see Mi Hye & Woo Jin cuter interactions until way too late in the drama. The villains were wack. Everyone gets off too easily.

With all that being said, the drama had some nice moments but they will keep you waiting for too long between each one. The drama is one of the draggy ones so if you were to get into it be prepared.

I think this is a very complicated drama...Each episode makes me sad because of the hardships these mothers are making in order to make their daughters' lives perfect...A little imagination because the character of the old man and wife doesn't seem to exist in real life. Exaggerated on Director Han's family... I don't think their marriage is a big problem because they have nothing to do with blood, very realistic on Mi Sun's part... because nowadays kinds of problems between husband and wife actually happen... I generally like it.. The way the story develops... I always look forward to watching the new episode every week... I love this drama so much... I love madam ox bone soup... She's fun and a very devoted mother... I also love Mi Sun in laws ...a great partner... you always have something to argue with...
There is a lot to learn for the current generation not only for women and girls but also for men. Shows what are the different roles, responsibilities, account capabilities, and permissions. How the various vicissitudes of life are countered by coordinating people, resources, time and money. How are these balanced, and how they fought and won.

It WAS great.

I started off really good, as in good. The casts and the story I mean every was perfect. Then as more episodes were release it got too boring not only this drama has a lot of episodes, but it has becoming tooooo draggy. The story is a family genre drama which is very realistic I liked it especially with every sister having their love team which also contributes greatly to the show but then since it has a lot of episodes, the couples just cant get together already.. the casting was great really, having them all in a show. I wouldn’t dare to watch it again so my rewatch value is low :( but overall, i had fun :)
