The premise of  the film is clear, trains and ghosts, in the case here the metaphor is  that "It is not possible to deviate from the path." Inevitable, much  like death. " The story basically begins with the rain  falling heavily while the Mi-sun train operator arrives at work, the  final run from the Seoul line to Yeosu. This is not only  the last ride of the day, but the last ride completely as the line is  being closed permanently, so something happens ...
First,  we are introduced to the main location, casually the sordid history of  this particular train is explained and our main protagonist arrives on  the scene. Then the unfortunate characters who are destined to die, or all readily predictable. With  the characters and locations properly established, "Red Eye" adopts the  ingredients of a classic haunted movie but with a poorly written story.
