Heart-Warming story

I enjoyed this drama. First of all, I have been looking for Xiao Zhan’s drama and was very happy to find one. I like the character development and the growth of the main as well as supporting characters throughout the story. I also like the idea of the openness of Shrek Academy that teaches students thinking outside the box and giving them more experiential learning opportunities although those opportunities involve many dangers and adventures. One of my biggest take-away from Shrek Academy is “do not judge a book by its cover.” They were many relationships, friendships, love, sacrifice, and redemption evolving around the characters, which was kind of old school but it was enough to warm my heart during this pandemic period. Although the storyline could have been more solid, especially with Xiao Zhan’s father, story development of other supporting characters, and the ending, this give me something to look forward to in season 2. To me, Ou Si Ke seems like the most funny and hilarious character that spies up the show. He stood out as the most fun actor to watch (Pretty surprised to see this side of him after seeing him in arsenal academy). Also like Xiao Zhan’s character, which matches well with him and his previous role of WWX in Untamed. Because I was watching with an app, I didn’t really get a chance to listen to any music but I didn’t have any problem with much. Chinese fantasy drama always fascinates me because they have so many different topics, themes, study object, creative aspects embedded in the story. It was nice to see another beautiful fantasy, adventure, and action drama.

In short, if you like light-hearted fantasy and adventure drama, I would recommend watching it.

Dropped. Did not do the donghu justice

I watched this because the Soul Land donghua is literally my fave donghua of all time. I had high hopes because I’m also a HUGE fan of cdramas. I literally live to watch it. But I could not get past episode 4. I disliked that they decided to change that he reincarnated and instead let his dad teach him the skills he learnt in his previous life. It actually entirely defeats the purpose of Tang San being overly smart and talented and then using that knowledge in that world. It didnt make sense for either of his parents to hand those techniques down because in the world of soul land, only Soul Masters and Soul beasts are a way of power. I felt that it didn’t bring out how unique he really is in the fact that he actually lived another life. I’m not even sure if he has the ambition to create the Tang sect like he did in his previous life but I didn’t stay to find out. The forest was lacklustre.lt looked like a normal forest. I’m not even sure if I’m the later episodes they entered the forest deeper and the trees and plants looked different ( I know in his dreams the forest looked how it did in the donghua but when he went to get his first soul beast it was just a plain bland forest). Xiao Wu. Xiao Wu from the start was not giving anything. She was definitely not the same like the donghua and I actually got irritated with her at one point. I felt that they way too quickly forced them to be together. Sure in the donghua it’s different but they were small kids and she just seemed better and he even seemed more mature as a kid in the donghua than he did in the drama. I have no other way of saying it. I felt she was too childish and he just immediately accepted her for the sake of the plot. that’s what it looked like to me. I have no hate towards Xiao Zhan. I like him as an actor I just felt that they didn’t do the donghua justice by making this.

New thought of Chinese drama

Douluo Continent is the first Chinese Special effect TV series I watched. At the beginning, I didn't expect too much on it. When I started to watch, it is totally changed the impression of Chinese Drama.
Douluo Continent with high world class visual effect and the story is compact and I cannot stop to watch .
Meanwhile, Xiao Zhan played the essence of the role and made the series more attractive.
If you stay at home during the Chinese New Year Holiday because of the epidemic, I recommend you to watch Doulou Continent. After watching, you will feel satisfied and happy throughout the Chinese New Year.

Highly recommended for action movie lovers

I haven’t seen neither the novel or the anime. To me, the storyline is well written and very attractive and I couldn’t help looking forward to watching the next episode every day.
The visual effect of this drama is amazingly incredible and I can say it’s one of the best that I’ve seen in Chinese drama. Nevertheless, Xiao Zhan acting is the highlight of the series, he is charming and fascinating which engages the audience's attention. Besides, all other supporting actors are doing a great job and I can feel their passion and devotion in making a real good production.

Sorry for anyone who liked my original review, but I’ve changed my mind too many times and there’s a word limit.

I love how we are introduced to the characters, and how Ma HongJun has a more fleshed out story in this. The actors casted as each character really showcase the personality of their characters in the best ways. The overall story is great, fair warning for everyone though, episode 16 is a little cringey as though xiao Zhan is a great actor, the entire spider legs scene is just not it. The show is awesome so far and is making its own take on the story. If it were it’s own original show, it’d be awesome, but there are bound to be some people who read the source material who don’t like the changes. One last little thing that I’d like to know, does tang San learn poison from du gu bo or does he never learn about poisons and never encounters dugu? And one last thing completely, the actor for grandmaster (Calvin Chen) has done awesome at portraying him and I think he really captured the essence of xiao gang. (But kind of more like the dumbledore goblet of fire thing where in the books he’s composed but in the movie he’s more straightforward and assertive, ya know?) The directors really hit snake eyes on the dice roll for episode 1 because it is a great introduction, but it probably pushed away a lot of the audience who had read the manhua/book or seen the anime.

Everything about Tangsans root and true identity

One of the best drama ,,no boring moment ,,every chapter has diferent highlights ,,the script writer done a great job to compressed all action and exciting moment in each chapter.. all cast are impressive ,,acting skills of main role xiao zhan is superb ,,the best actor and most handsone ,,the crying scene is flooding ,,oh God ! He is the most handsome in this planet eyes only to him is enough ,,the rabbit girl is annoying and not pretty ,,her face is so ordinary and disgusting ,,while the other 3 ladies are more sexy and beautiful . The rest of the cast are impressive except for the rabbit girl ..? overall ,, this adaptation series is the best ,, xiao zhan , the best actor and most handsome ,,the producer has a good taste to choose the best actor ...i dont like the anime with too many episodes and so boring to watch that more than 100

The plot I've have never read the novel so Im new to the show, But I love the pacing and the world-building . I think the writer did a good job of explaining the characters, the powers and the Soul Beasts. Im fully enjoying the series so far and im slightly addictive cant wait for the next episodes. The acting is on point for me Xiao zhan brings really emotion and characterisation to Tang San , Wu Xuanyi does extremely well cant believe this is her first major acting role. I cant wait to see more of the series

Douluo Continent?? This drama has nothing to do with the novel.

This might literally be the worst review I've ever given to anything. As a reader of the original novel, I would like to ask...What's the point in using the title of the novel, characters, and names from it when you're changing the entire plotline? The casting in this drama is horrible -I'm sorry- I love all of the actors and I support every one of them but they really shouldn't be used in this show. First of all, they don't fit the roles of their characters, and... you're having XiaoZhan play a 10yearold->adult role all throughout the drama when you also hired a child actor to play tangsan as a child. The writing of this drama and the whole design of the plot and type of drama is by far the worst. If you are going to change the backstory, time period, character design, and their personalities then please...just call it a different title, you're already changing the whole story why don't you just change the names with it. This drama is just using famous idols and a famous story title to grab viewers. The only reason I'm still watching is to support the actors...Almost everyone in China who has read the novel has a bad review of the drama. The only reason why I'm giving it a bad review is the fact that they are using a perfectly good novel and storyline, but end up changing everything in it. Last note...what in the world are the spirit animals...titan ape became a white gorilla and the man-faced spider became an enlarged tarantula???

Best Fantasy CDrama 2021

I love this cdrama Duolo continent. The ML and FL are good actors they’re chemisty are superb. I really2x enjoyed watching every episode and can’t wait for the new one. More romance screen time between FL and ML because the chemistry is good. I don’t find FL acting is annoying I like how she acted the role. All the actors did a very good job in terms of acting. They give a good performance and I hope that it will continue until the end. Hoping too that in Duolo Continent 2 they cast the same actors and actresses. Keep it up! Go go Xiao Zhan!!!!

Beautiful and light

Beautiful story, scenery, great cast. Xiao Zhan is magnificent and as cute as ever. The story and the unknown famyily secrets keep you hooked and you want to keep watching to uncover the truth. Well made fantasy with good graphics and special effects. Full of life philosophy. Pure and innocent and light. A feel good drama, at least so far. Not that many of those lately, that are pleasure to watch and not boring. Nice drama to watch to relax after a stressful day to shift away from life agony. Kids friendly. At least so far(I am 19 episodes in).

start watching from episode 16, you won't miss out by skipping the first 15 episodes

episode 1 to episode 15 are worth 2-star at the most. get ready for an unimpressive, mediocre first 15 episodes. things pick up and get better starting from episode 16 onward. i almost gave up twice watching this series all the way to the 40th episode because the overall experience watching the first 15 episodes was such a drag.

these first 15 episodes suffer from terrible background sound/music effects, many poor/redundant dialogues, some poor acting from several different characters, long winded narrative (beat around the bush), and redundant screen time of some minor/supporting characters, and of redundant or non-significant story development. of these early 15 episodes, only a select few segments in episode 7-8 were barely enjoyable.

i think as a whole, the production should have tone down or manage the usage frequency, and the quality of the virtual effects or computer graphics a bit. they could also have focused better on the character developments, story, plots, directing, character screen time, editing, and background music/sound.

i am not too sure about the main female actor. it feels that the main female character is more like a supporting female character. i can see that she tries hard to portray the character and bring life to the character. on the other hand, her acting gives me the impression that it is either she is not as experienced in acting the role, or she has not received better guidance/direction/mentoring, or both.

in general, majority of the acting and cast of majority of the supporting characters, and their dialogues are better compared to a few of the supporting characters in the first 15 episodes. the supporting characters from episode 16 onward are more enjoyable and endearing. the acting and dialogues of a few of the supporting characters in the first 15 episodes feel (more) awkward/stiff(er).

This may contain SPOILER so dont read if U dont like... Also this is my PERSONAL OPINION... NO HATE.... NO FAN WAR...
I watch this series because its XIAO ZHAN...Also this kind of Genre is always my Fave, school of Magic!! dreaming of Harry Potter type of Series....No matter what i will watch it... BUT this Series Disappoint me soooo much... sorry for my rating...

First, the STORY is good they may not elaborate more of the Ending still for me it has ENDED... so i gave it 8/10

Second, the ACTING.... Xiao Zhan always deliver his role perfectly, he is 1 of the best actor ive seen... BUT!!!
Is this Series a Competition of the FL & RongRong on "How to be 2 yrs old?" Goshhhh... its so annoying... the baby talk & the tantrums its so difficult to watch (good thing there "forward button") With this kind of genre, the Plot is action the writer should have put a fierce FL, if its bcoz she is Bunny she "should" be cute, i hope the director did not make the FL talk like that even my 3 yr-old daughter dont baby talk like that... its really annoying....this is the ONLY Series i did not see more of Xiao Zhan, i forward all his scene with the girl... specially when they put that supposed to be "sweet scene" when FL is wiping the sweat & letting him drink water, i can not watch it, hahaha (sorry xiao zhan) imagine a 2 or 3 yrs old having a sweet scene like that it does not fit at all... NO CHEMISTRY!!! so acting its 4/10... 4 all for Xiao Zhan

Definitely i will NOT re-watch it cause even this 40 eps, i just finish it bcoz i want to see their Final Fight... even if they have season 2 of this if its the same FL... i will not also watch it....

对不起... Sorry... i hope i did not offend anyone for my Review... its just my honest opinion... also I hope the writer or director can read this... U can put bubbly & cute FL as she is Bunny BUT NOT the way how the FL talk here... its sooo annoying
