this is not a psychological drama:')
the story is simple and kind of ridiculous in a sense. there is no psychological thing in this drama, even though it does talk a little bit about the characters' mental problems. however, that's it. if you are expecting something healing or psychological, then this isn't for you. there is just sex and some not-so likeable characters. i do like the female lead, but her "going-with-the-manipulation" thing is definitely not likeable at all, but just sad...i guess.the story's premise is somewhat weird and creepy in a sense, but i don't really expect much from these kind of dramas. there are some times when the author gives me a ray of hope that the story will provide me with something. but it only gives the main leads a very unreasonable reason to have sex or to be intimate in any way. however, i think that's the author's purpose:/
The second lead's backstory made me sad, but dude, was very very toxic from the veryyy start. so, bye, Hase:')
The male lead is pretty plain, almost-expressionless and some kind of genius dumbass. honestly, i don't understand his reason for not falling in love before as much as i do Hase's. also, i felt that he says he won't do anything Terada dislikes, but he kind of emotionally manipulates her:'/ dude, i understand you don't get hard, but you should have a little bit of human decency:')
also, again, this drama isn't psychological. this is just your same story-less steamy drama with your same push-over fl who will probably apologize even when she is dying and your same ml who will only smile in front of the fl because he kil...i mean loves her:')
...
nevertheless, if you just want to watch two straight humans having sex or some intimate moments (like me), then it's a good drama to watch. but because the ml and fl's relationship never really progressed in an emotional sense, even the sex scenes kinda feels...flat. but you will enjoy:")

Now onto the not so good. The story and character development were the main problems. The lead character Terada-san's indecisiveness got on my nerves. Hongyo-san also annoyed me with his hopelessness and dependency on everyone around him. I said kimochi warui 気持ち悪い several times when he was on screen and especially with his interactions with Terada when they were alone. I was perplexed as to why she would agree to enter into this type of relationship with him given the back story of their relationship in Jr high. You felt used back then so you're going to sign yourself up to be used again now. HUH?! I also thought Hase-san was creepy in his interactions with Terada. His reasons for his proposal are absurd. And Kuritani only wanted Terada around because she cooked and cleaned. There is a thin line between being/feeling needed by others and being used and Terada-san seems like a woman with low self-esteem who trying to find herself by allowing every other character on the show to use her. It's hard to root for her when I want to shake her so badly and yell "WTF are you doing with yourself?!" Though the characters worked out their feelings by the end I don't feel like anything was resolved or improved on. At the end I just asked myself WTF did I just binge? What was the point of this?

All crucial information is absent in this series. If you don't believe me and got intrigued by the introductional episode as I did, just know you have greatly been deceived because that desire to watch is short lived.
Sorry, no, that's a lie. I did indeed feel desire but it lead to disappointment.
The character progression was a load of shit and pretty much non-existent & that also goes out for story development.
Yours truly,
Suicide.

Messed up adults in one house.
3/5. This drama is so messed up. Just like the title, "Screwed-Up Adults Sharehouse", basically a bunch of adults with a weird way of thinking. It's cute and great in some scenes, but can't count how many times I want to puke myself out with the possibility that someone did this in reality. Glad, they ended the drama before everything goes in much more complicated way. They have almost a zero percent of character development. The story went on and on in a circle. The cinematography in highschool flashback somehow looks like Thai drama, the current one is more like a Korean drama. The genre is YA romance. The acting feels much more mild compare to other Japan drama, which mostly overstate. Still, a lightwatch to spend your times with. Was this review helpful to you?

Potential great love story however cheapened by its main theme on sexual drive!
FL and ML has their first sex experience in their high school day. The experience created and impact for both of them.In adulthood, FL didn’t have much success in love and life, she met the ML again who was having trouble with his male libido. ML’s libido to him was also equivalent to his creativity. So as a writer, he was in despair when he lost his writing ability due to his lost of libido. However when FL came into the scene, ML found his miracle cure, where he was able to regain his sexual arousal. So subsequently the few episodes were about ML trying to convince FL to have physical intimacy and sex with him. Which she gave in eventually. In this drama, FL was portrayed as a ‘push over’, giving in to ML’s advances and requests again and again. After she gave in to him and had sex with him, which she was still unable to set clear boundaries and resulting in her wondering was she just a sex object. Deep inside, FL seems to love ML previously or/and was once emotionally hurt by him (in high school, she couldn’t understand why after she gave her virginity to him), he abandoned her. As adult, she tried to act mature and cool about the matter but still deeply curious and drawn to ML as she was in high school.
There was another matured SML who was gentle and respectful to FL and took interest in her. But yet ultimately we know that she chooses to stay with ML because she accepted ML’s term of loving her is via physical connection (or sex). Partly she is flattered that she is the only women that can aroused him and maintain his sexual desire/needs. So they end up staying together and be happy in the moment.
What I dislike:
Normalizing woman to be a ‘push over’ and sex object to man. Allowing woman to be a victim to man’s fantasy.
Suggesting that it’s acceptable to allow a man to act on his sexual drive to manipulate a woman through her emotional vulnerability and love for him.
Dehumanizing man to a state only being driven by sexual drive and needs.
What I like
The actors/actress acting were natural and believable in their roles.
ML’s character is uniquely designed and he is not really like all man, one can see a mild autistic traits presented. And as FL learnt and choose to love and accept his flaws, their love is simple and uncomplicated as they meet each others’ needs.
The boldness of the director and script to explore this topic in an open manner.
One need to watch with an open mind or you won’t appreciate it.

Women that have no goals in life or success getting into a full house with new friends(with benefits)she has no confident in herself, and she learn couple of things on the way.
some of the episode you feel the sparks of deep thoughts like loneliness or weirdness, not fit in to society, its common in Jdrama but yet it's little fluffy as they shown desires and also they progress and more open in the bed scenes
the deep questions rising at the end and i will write about it in the end
The music is cheesy not interesting.
1-9 episode talking about sexual relationship and how does it develop to emotional connection, from the female side at least, you watch her stay the same but going trough this, and it's very cute you can relate to her feeling,
the only problem is the last episode when you don't see any emotions or understanding the main man lead, he has a problem but it's not cover nothing he don't have any emotions,
When the women confess at the end again she get answer: why do you like me i don't understand...it's more desire.
and i think it's sum up the problem in the end: we don't know why she like him except the desire for him, he doesn't give her nothing or care about her at all,
i think if she would have end with the other man that more showing emotion or something it would have close better

Absurdist, Offbeat Goodness
I've been a bit surprised by the lack of interest or love for this show, but then again I guess I shouldn't be. It doesn't give us any of the tropes that we get fed in other Asian rom coms - there's no "accidentally" falling into his arms, there's no getting drunk and piggy-backed home, there's not even any reaching out to wipe food sensually from her mouth. So what do we get? We get four highly quirky people living in a shared house. They sort of function in society but navigating the real world and its expectations of them is a struggle. We get varying details of their back stories, not a lot but enough to empathise with them. The FL and ML are solid in their portrayals of two misfits - I especially enjoyed the ML, his expressions and body language were spot on. The FL is over the top in many ways, but this is the Japanese way - it is a live-action take on very normal behaviour in the anime world. The love dynamics between the four characters is fun to watch, and the show is so short and snappy so you get to enjoy the brief ride without it getting too absurd or dull.I was even more surprised with some of the reviewers commenting on how badly the story is resolved, because I totally disagree - I watched four people progress by the end of it and there was definitely a resolution. Have we become so trained by K and C dramas to expect the beautiful confession, the happy tears, the story book wedding, the glossy magazine happily ever after? Or worse, are we so passive as viewers now that we need the message for a show to be spoon-fed to us as some sort monologue by the lead actors themselves? If this is what you're after, then okay this show is absolutely not for you. Don't get me wrong, I enjoy and want good HEAs too but more and more I've been seeking out Japanese shows to balance this out a bit.
Because there is a nice romantic story here. There is a really compelling second lead, and not a love triangle, but a four way one even! And there is even a happy ending. But just like the weird and wonderful people that this show is about, this story is quite a bit weird and pretty darn wonderful. I enjoyed it immensely. Watch it so that you can argue with me - I look forward to it! :P

Not bad at all.
This wasn’t as bad as I expected, I actually quite liked it. The FL felt very relatable in the way that she was conflicted and had low self esteem. A lot of people have felt those same feelings and confusion over relationships and our self worth. With the ML I wasn’t even sure I should root for him, I was as confused as the FL. The 2nd ML was interesting and I really felt for him once his childhood was revealed. You could understand where he was coming from with his actions. The 2nd FL was adorable and even though I was afraid she’d be someone obnoxious she actually turned out to be the most well rounded of the 4.Theae characters worked on understanding themselves and talked things out, by the end they were a happy dysfunctional family.

Interesting idea, but I don't like the characters
This is a kind of drama with quite more adult topics and talking a lot openly about sex, although not in any offensive way, just in a way I am not used to in other Japanese dramas, so I kind of liked the more realistic side of this. The main story is a little bit strange if you think about it - what kind of girl would do such things with her roommate like Terada did? But still it works somehow and it caught my attention, so I kind of enjoyed watching the whole series.
I have to say I like the character of Terada, she's kind of genuine girl and we can see all her emotions very clearly, so I think this was a very good acting. But other characters are just trash I think. Hongyo is cold, abusive and so strange that it seems like he has a kind of psychotic disorder and to me he looked scary all the time, so I don't understand Terada's behavior towards him. Hase is the opposite, too flegmatic, always smiling, even though it seems like a strange kind of mask and acting his feelings all the time, his behavior was also abusive and egoistic and I didn't like him. Another crazy character is Akari. If I lived with her she would scare me all the time. Like all in all, I would leave this sharehouse immediately, as it seemed like a house of horror to me.
The plus for me were some steamy scenes and how I already said, good psychology in case of Terada.
It probably won't be my favorite jdrama but it's definitely worth watching (not again though). But be prepared to think how strange this is.

I found this drama quite interesting in the more weird way. this is just a Japanese version of a girl with low self esteem and a guy who cannot 'heal' without his sexual fantasies being satiated. I definitely feel like the adults in this house need counselling and not trying to push their expectations of the lead actress to act in their expectations. I'm just confused but the premise of this show is interesting. The ending was a bit obscure like it doesn't fully explain whether she found closure with the guy or not because if I were her I'd not live in the house seeing as he never fully apologised or showed any remorse for raping her. smh….
