Sakuragi Shun is a salesman who works for a Sunbath Home Housing, a house manufacturing company. He enjoys a happy life at home with his wife and daughter. Due to a sudden personnel change, he was assigned to transfer to Kagoshima, a city he was familiar with from his junior high school days. There, for the first time in 17 years, he is reunited with his first love Takeda Hana. She works as a junior high school teacher, while her husband who works as first mate, spends most of the year at sea, so she usually lives alone. While reminiscing the bittersweet memories of their high school days together, a hidden Pandora's box begins to open...

Furthermore, sparks also fly with Katoyama Naoya, Shun's friend and former love rival from their junior high school days, who now works for another company in the same industry. Although Shun has a beloved wife, the flames of jealousy quietly flare up. Meanwhile, Sakuragi Shun's wife is trying to suppress her anxiety. Based on their phone calls and emails, she becomes suspicious that her husband is cheating on her, and in order to eliminate her fears, she takes a trip to visit him in Kagoshima. As the slight lies begin to pile up, the truth becomes complicated, and when the lies are exposed, how will the relationship between the four of them
change?

Domestic violence

Someone else actually pointed out the similarities… both deal with abuse, fish and passion (sex).

I really really enjoyed goldfish wives and I watched under your bed and liked it enough to watch it to the end without skipping. I’d give it a shot if you enjoyed the series. The movie (UYB) might not be everyone’s cup of tea but I really liked the ending.

Remind me of Saito Takumi drama & movie....& still 1 of my favorite drama....If you like this genre this is a must watch drama/movie. Furuya Robin always adorable since Kamen Rider Saber days.

It only has a common theme of domestic abuse and other controversial topics. To save the victims, the main characters have gone overboard with their measures, for Love in Sadness— medical malpractice while Under your bed— (more) obssessive stalking.

They have different stories and perspectives. In the drama, it is like a third person point of view, while the movie is more first person POV.

Naoto was ignored by other people. During his school days, Chihiro was the first person who called his name. Naoto dreams of seeing her again and tries to find her. Finally, after 11 years, he locates her, but she is a totally different person now. Naoto becomes obsessed with her. Naoto sneaks into her house and stays under her bed.

Similar because of the domestic violence theme. It is on a much smaller scale in Wandering (2022) though.

Both share the theme of domestic abuse and are quite graphic in their depiction of it.

Under Your Bed takes a more-creepy-less-sweet approach to the very similar situation in 3 Iron, but is very good nonetheless.
While 3 Iron is near dialogueless Under Your Bed is a lot of narration with occasional interactions. I love both films despite shipping the leads in 3 Iron while standoffishly.. understanding(?) the leads in Under Your Bed. Under Your Bed is certainly a movie to watch and appreciate from a good film perspective, not one to go into expecting to be rooting for your lead character. As long as you can realize that a film can be about something bad without promoting said bad thing, I think you’ll enjoy it.
