Okay, First of all I won’t say anything about the story for I might spoil you, All I can say is that this series is a must watch, Because this series proves that LOVE IS ABOVE EVERYTHING, that you will do EVERYTHING for the person that you love, To be honest.....I’m very meticulous when it comes to watching movies or series, I want to watch something that will both educate me and satisfy my soul.... and this series definetly did that, It tells you that you should never let the person you love be harmed, That you should always take care and trust your loved ones and it also tells us THAT WE SHOULD’NT LET OUR STATE OF LIVING DECIDE WHO TO BE FRIENDS WITH, EVEN IF SHE’S YOUR MAID BECAUSE LOVE AND FRIENDSHIP IS MUCH BETTER THAN POWER....I hope my review will help youWas this review helpful to you?
Queen: War of Love
The drama felt like it was held together with duct tape. There was this missing spark to make the twins plot work. How are we supposed to buy into this twin dynamic when there's no connection?Somehow, the dead twin had a better chemistry and her replacement twin never worked despite being the same actress. The romance as well suffered because of that, incompatible by design. Out of all the ideas that can be spun from a twins plot, they kept it very simple while doing the bare minimum to fill the episodes. Which also resulted in long draggy uneventful events. On another note, out of all of Jin Se Yeon historical roles, this is her weakest performance yet.Was this review helpful to you?
Really good but something felt missing
Probably my favourite Korean drama genre is sageuk, mostly because 95% of what I watched is of a very high quality. This one is very good and is innovative. The first episode was a bit confusing but once you get familiar with the characters and the story, the show is getting on the right track. I also thought the last episodes were a bit dragged, the most interesting part for me was the queen's selection and the king's prophetic dreams. Maybe if there were less episodes, it would've been more intriguing. The ending was so satisfying.The acting was very good, props to Lee Jae Yong, he always plays this kind of characters and he does it so well!
The OST was pretty; it reminded a lot of the The Princess's Man OST!
I wouldn't rewatch it that much; not enough cliffhangers to make it more exciting. But still, very worth watching.

PRETTY GOOD but some minor icks?!
I think the storyline/plot was fun! It had a lot of potential and played well with romance and politics!All the characters did a FANTASTIC job of portraying their respective characters - especially all the female leads!
As for the romance aspect - I really did love his obsession or like passion for the MFL but at some parts; he seemed too desperate / immature to me. BUT I still liked it LOL
Politics - made sense etc all the nitty gritty dirty tricks and such were there.
As for the 'power' the King had - interesting concept but felt like such a cheat code idk - definitely a unique addition for a traditional styled drama and could see how shamans and spirits idea came into play.
Overall, a pretty fun watch!! Some parts were slow but loved the cast, and the selection part was fun too! Worth to give it a watch!

I'll just gonna say it was very wonderful, it'll provide you a roller coaster emotion and i'm sure that it will satisfy you. It has an outstanding story, characters and events , that gonna make you watch it over and over again. And make sure to finish you're watching because it'll make you emotional in every episode. The characters deserve their position because they had an outstanding acting skills that make fulfill their duties and make you enjoy you're watching. This is one of my binge watched dramas after being "locked down" because of COVID 19. Binge watching a 16 episode drama is basically watching a drawn out movie that is told in slow motion. As a background I am sharing this information so you understand my bias and critique. During this period I have binged two Chinese historical dramas (Ming Dynasty and Serenade of Joy) both with King/Emperor - Queen/concubine issues. It took less than 2 days to blow through this drama and the only thing I felt was good actress, good actor, poor portrayal of king, poorer portrayal of concubines and queen. The costumes were colorful -- an A+. You could write a summary of this drama in less than 2 paragraphs because of the simplicity of story telling. After trying to research whether this was a real Joseon King or a made up one for dramaland purposes -- I could only come to the conclusion that he was a made up King. So this story was purely a work of fiction.
There is a total lack of mature telling of a story. I felt I should have been in 5th grade watching this drama as opposed to being an adult. Other than a few steamy kisses, the lack of heartfelt romance -- which should have been the bases of this drama seemed "starved." The court officials seemed more powerful than the king and when the king finally decided to take power his actions were always "minimal". The description that calls him a peaceful king is really a description of ineptness e.g. woman over nation sacrifices and reduced punishments for gross acts of treason.
The question is always -- to watch or not to watch? Well, if you just have nothing else to do and follow the careers of the actor and actress I would say definitely. Their performances were really commendable with the material given to them. As a fan of historical dramas I am still waiting for the quality of SIx Flying Dragons, Jumong, The Moon Embraces the Sun, Jewel in the Palace,. Sungkyundwon Scandal, Dong Yi -- I can go on and on because I love the period dramas. The quality continues to fade and I truly wish for the "good old days".

Who is going to hit the bullet? the lead actress Eun-Bo? or the queen? hopefully the queen will just die. So the concubine will replace the position of the previous queen. So love will reign. I love oppah Kim Min-Kyu great acting and his eunuch and right hand persons. His adversaries also. All the casts are great and of course the director. This is between the love and authority, the greediness of the position. The principle of leader and authority. The decision making etc. A good leader takes responsibility for everyone’s performance as well as their own so on and so forth.

I wanted to try this one after reading the summary.
It's a short drama, only 16 episodes long, and it mainly focused in the process of selection of the queen and the resolution of the cases in which Kang Eun Bo's family was involved.
It's adequate in terms of politic intrigues, nothing new, but poor in terms of palace and harem topics compare to other dramas.
The romance was so-so for me, they had their scenes, but I didn't felt the chemistry between the leads at all.
Lee Gyung (Male lead): his character was really weak for a king, which was really annoying, always being trampled down by others. I didn't like the actor's performance either, it wasn't natural.
Kang Eun Bo (Female lead): she's quite reserve and depends on others a lot. Don't expect a "Mulan" type of personality, she's more of a "damsel in distress" type.
My favourite side character was Wal. He was loyal, friendly and caring.
The music was beautiful and memorable, the song keeps playing on my mind.
The costumes and scenaries were eyecatching.
Rewatch value? No no, I won't watch it again.
I enjoyed the drama and it wasn't boring, I don't regret watching it but it didn't fascinated me.

This drama was so good, I enjoyed it. It had everything in one, love, revenge, hate, drama, politics, and most of all it had a happy ending. If you are looking for a happy ending drama that is also a historical drama this is the one. It wasn't that long either. I highly recommend. I also enjoyed the actors there were really good and they did such a good job. I love the king he is so cute and handsome. I wish they had a little bit more I the ending, but regardless it was a good drama. The plot was really good and it wasn't too sad like many other dramas. First of all I love the acting! ML is so handsome! and MC is pretty too. Just that, why is it that almost all of the characters are always on the verge of tears, if not crying? Especially the ML, like?? It's not that boring but it's not that catchy either. I put it on 1.25x whenever im watching and sometimes 2.0x if the scenes are uninteresting.. which is very often.
Also, maybe it's just that i'm used to chinese historical drama but the punishments are too lenient.
just a cup of poison for someone who tried to kill the king twice and planned a coup? I was expecting for him to be beheaded or his whole family to get killed... and his daughter who also planned the coup with him and wronged the MC gets to live!? damn bro, if someone dared to fuck with my girl i wouldn't let that one live.
Also, most of the time, the king is just worrying about MC.. sure, he did plan to get the righteous officials by his side but that's it and it only happened for like, 3 or 4 times? No direct mention of the king caring for his people without the officials.
the ending is also unsatisfying. there was just 5 minutes left at the end of the series and both of them still didn't meet!? plus, what happened after? did he reinstate her as the queen since they have a boy, or what... did he abolish the monarchy since this happened at Joseon era? I thought it ould be that case at first too, lol I was wrong.
one more thing. the fight scenes are unsatisfying cause they die so easily !? and it's so shortttttttt. Just my two cents lol. But it is good.
the only ost that i find pleasing to the ears is the one at the end of the series, around ep 15 or 16 i guess? and they only played it once ugh.
but it's good tho. you should watch if u want to kill time
