Really honest review
Cast? Acting? Absolutely stunning and splendid. The drama did feel a little draggy to me nonetheless. But there’s one thing that has been bugging me, which is that I’m not sure if the drama is being dubbed. I’ve heard Jerry Yan’s and Shen Yue’s voices in dramas that weren’t dubbed, but somehow I feel that for this drama it’s being dubbed which made me feel a little iffy.But I would have definitely preferred if there was more progress in Xiao You’s career; after all it was her dream to become a fashion designer!
Other than that, I definitely have second lead syndrome in this drama; Miles Wei definitely the guy I would go for (if I can haha!)

Sizzling chemistry was the star of the show!
pros of this drama:- don’t be fooled by the age gap, the leads have AMAZING CHEMISTRY
- the visuals of shen yue and jerry are off the charts
- nice cinematography and colour scheme
- the fashion side is somewhat interesting
- side couples were cute
- top notch acting from the cast.
- i loved that they used everyone’s real voices! jerry’s taiwan accent is so cute!

i understand that it’s a slow paced drama and not meant to be romance centred but the leads got to together far too late. i lost interest in this drama around episode 22. barely any fluffy cute scenes after they became a couple. the storyline was overall uneventful, considering the romantic aspect wasn’t strong. ML had little character development until episode 34 and never communicated with the FL. i did not find ML’s personality enjoyable to watch. overall a 7.5/10.
it’s a good drama but would not watch again. i look forward to jerry yan’s and shen yue’s future projects. always a pleasure to see them act :)

Chemistry
Personally, the plot wasn't very interesting to me (and felt a bit slow paced), but I kept watching 'cause the actors did an AMAZING job and the main leads had lots of chemistry.From the first episode, I had the impression that the drama would contain more comedic scenes (sadly not much-would have been cool to play with the interpretation of luck more literally), however they had loads of sweet moments and most importantly the ML wasn't an irrational jerk. For once, I could actually stand the main love interest while pitying the second lead rather than despising him.

The elephant in the room
I don't have a huge problem with people who have a big age difference falling in love with each other in real life as long as the relationship starts once they are both consenting adults and they don't have a prior relationship with an imbalance of power, ie teacher/student, family friend ect.However, I think what works against this drama is the fact that the two leads are 20 years apart in age, there IS a power imbalance in their relationship, he is her boss, and the Female Leading Actress looks even younger than her character is supposed to be.
Shen Yue is 24 in the drama but looks like she's 16-18 years old and Jerry Yan is very handsome but he looks every minute of his 44 years of age. If he looked to be late 30s and she actually looked to be mid 20s, I believe the audience would have been more forgiving and not really spoken about it much...but the way it is, too many focused on that to the exclusion of everything else about the drama.
IF you can manage to get past all that, the drama itself isn't that bad. It has some good lessons about life, there's some good give and take between the couple, and though it's a bit too long it still manages to hold your attention for all 34 episodes.
I've watched this but I don't think I could rewatch it except in clips. I would give it a 7 and if they had managed to make Shen Yue look her age I probably would have given it a higher rating.

climax and ending
count your lucky star is the popular drama hit series now in philippines. since filipina love jerry yan, and also me. thats why all the filipina is screaming when they heard that jerry yan has a new movie. at first i thought that jerry yan and she yue is going to be blast. and im not mistaken ahaha since meteor garden i like jerry yan as a main role dao ming si.. until this year he's back! all the 90's filipina is happy.. and including me ahahha every episode of CYLS is exciting.you will not notice that they have an age Gap because they know how to portray their role. they very good actor and actresses.
there is no hesistance between them they are comfortable with each other...
im looking forward to another series with them and in the real life i wish that they were lovers ? they have chemistry with each other. since i love shen yue because of her cute face and attitude she is so versatile in every drama she had. maybe because she is true to herself.
i wish goodluck for both of them.. this drama series will be hit this 2020

This Drama is very light and feel good. Shenyue's acting is really good compared to her old dramas. It will just get better with further episodes. Watch few episodes atleast to give a call about it.

Love this drama
The more episode i watch, the more i love it.Bit confused at first episode why is jerry yan speaking like that but know i understand.
Jerry yan coming back after a long hibernation and make such a great things on this drama.
And shenyue, i always love her since a love so beautiful.
I really can’t wait for the next episode.
They both have some chemistry even though there’s a huge age gap but they nailed it.
Waiting for another episode with english subtitle.
Love love love.

Shen yue acting improving a lot
Shen yue acting is so natural, she’s extremely cute and pretty! i like her with the second male lead they’re so cute together, Second lead sydrome?. Shen yue acting improving a lot and a i don’t really like Jerry yan acting here, he’s more suitable as dao ming se. I need to see the more episode for their chemistry, so far i like the story it’s not that heavy and i think the dubbing needs to be improved, and i don’t like the editing. Once more i like about this drama is the FL she’s the most promising actress in china. I’m start to like chinese drama beacause of her she’s not only beauty inside and out but also smart and i really admire the way she thinks. Worth your time!
I have been waiting for this movie and it did not disappoint. The actors and actress chemistry is good. I especially like the second male lead chem with our Shen yue too. She is so comfortable with both of them. Shen yue is the reason I’m watching it and she is awesome in it. Her acting gotten so much better. I love her!The story is good so far. I keep on anticipating the next Espinosa each week. Wish it was all episodes was available because I would’ve finish it already.

Not bad but worthy of my time.
Before to read this I need to remind you, before to gave this opinion, I always try to watch more than two works of the actor before to made a judgment. This drama has a good storyline, I think it's the reason why I watch it till the end. They try very hard to maintain the story about "lucky stars" and I understand that. - Good plot with the hidden story- the link between leads - a relative good love story - a comprehensive second lead who just need love and someone to see that he is here and need attention (no 2ndleadsyndrom because he is better without her) - the fluffly second couple which pop out of nowhere. For me the second couple was more realist Sorry but the acting is not that, it was not AU RENDEZ VOUS. - Jerry will never be an actor. He has got only two expressions and the best one is the cynical. - the female lead is like I saw the same girl growing up from a love so beautiful (high school), Meteor garden (college) to this ( working life). She has got the same game. Too bad. Even the last episode I see it in fast mode.No need to re-watch even for few scene.Was this review helpful to you?
Lucky stars counted
I’m not sure why I’ve put off watching this although I’ve come across it so many times. I count myself lucky because i finally did and totally enjoyed it. Here’s why:First, I’m a sop for romance and this story has a great one. So as not to spoil it for you, I just want to give brief highlights.
ML has endured the pain of guilt of something that happened which wasn’t his fault but nevertheless painful. FL is someone who desired to be a fashion designer but always felt she brought about bad luck. Their interactions weave a tale that may sound familiar in others you’ve read or watched. The pair that seemed to not get along journeyed on a path involving overcoming hurdles of self doubt, inner turmoil, but strong support for each other.
The cast. Jerry Yan. My goodness he’s a great actor. He has emotional scenes that you can’t help but be greatly affected because of his acting. He really gets into the role and his pain will probably be much more felt bc you can’t help but pity him as you practically feel his hurt. Yes he’s very handsome but I really enjoy his work to care about those things.
Shen Yue. I think this is my first drama watching her. She’s a budding good actress. I love her character, kind, considerate, fun, and devoted. She played her part well, nothing coy but just natural. I’m a new fan and her smile? Contagious.
Wei Zhe Ming. Now I do know this actor and one of my favorites. Though he was second lead, he was very much liked. His character was sort of sad but in the end, things worked out. Though it’s totally unfair to me not to list them all, every other cast members were great contributors to this made story. The parents of Shen Yues character were so wonderful. We all know and have seen real nasty selfish drama parents but here, in them at least, they showed how parents should be…kind, supportive. The friends of fl and their boyfriends were also so cute.
Note of warning. The common complaint from so many is the lack of clothes type worn by Jerry Lans character. Yeah, but so? Letting you know in advance if it’s gonna be a problem for you. To me, yes I noticed but I was too invested in the story itself not be a big deal. Whatever reason it was for lack, I’m sure it’s not actors fault. Or he’s like me, not caring how many times I wear something as long as I’m comfortable??
Second warning is age gap. I don’t know what it is that bothers people (of course they have right to their own) but the way these leads carried out their roles was nothing short of true love and adoration for each other. They were the perfect pair and no gap is in it except maybe In people’s twisted thinking. Let these two things not deter you. This is definitely worth the watch and spoiler…………..ending kiss to a happy couple. Oh yeah, NEVER FORGET, the ost, is so endearingly inserted throughout im humming it as i write. Thanks.

Started off fun, but dragged in latter half
Likes: The OTP laughing through their lines in the first half. Jerry's bathtub scene. DANG!Dislikes: The 2nd half dragged. The recycling of the same outfits for Jerry. He's supposed to be this major fashion designer, yet he keeps wearing the same black shirt or same 3 outfits through out this long drama.
This started off fun and sparkling. When the OTP were together and teasing each other, they would constantly laugh through their lines as if this was an outtake which I really enjoyed. It's fun and made me smile and laugh along with them. I don't know why actors don't do this more often. When someone looks like they're laughing for real, it's contagious. I hardly saw the age gap because those scenes had chemistry.
Then somewhere in the middle, I kept being pulled out of the story. I couldn't ignore that Jerry kept wearing the same outfits. Certain locations were tied to the same outfit which is a continuity issue. Or there were times when Shen Yu would be really upset and then the next moment she's smiling brightly as if she hadn't just cried her eyes out. I couldn't adjust to the abrupt change in emotions. Or when there should have been a kiss because everything was leading up to it, but it was avoided for no reason which again, took me out of the story.
I don't know. I just feel like it became a mess the more I watched. I couldn't stick it out anymore and finally dropped at e29.
