one from 2012 and one from 1998, completely different genres and story lines...probably the only thing they have in common is the fact that these two have the most amazing, strongest and most beautiful love between the leads ive ever seen...the chemistry is so amazing in both of them, it is actual love they show, not the cutesy-wutesy-crush-thingy they show in romcom dramas...so yeah, thats pretty much the only thing they share, but im absolutely sure that if one made u squeal, so will the other:)

Similar story, a woman pretends to be a man in order to be the king (even tho it was not a decision she made), then a young man starts working with her and they fall for each other

Both star Mikako Tabe as a noble lady in Japanese Imperial Court. Both are about Japanese Imperial harem, Genji is about harem, a Prince surrounded by noble ladies, Ooku is about reverse harem, a noble lady surrounded by noble men. Both are very similar..........................................

The Castle of Crossed Destinies takes place after the events of the 2012 drama. Sakai Masato is the lead of this movie as well.

It also revolves around the shogunate. It's more detailed about what was going on in Japan politically at the time but it also gives you a breathtaking peek into life in the Shogun's harem.

These titles are similar because there is a need for an heir and in that desperation it is requested that one takes the place of another (because there is an inability to conceive) to ensure that an heir is produced.

In both dramas the males are the inferior gender, the female rule.
But Romance of Tiger and rose is not as serious as Ooku and is more comedic.

Both dramas have a main lead with an angelic and warm heart and loved by everyone. OTIC focuses on male lead while RF on female lead.
