Both female lead is old-fashioned, and the male lead helps them improve themselves. Both of them are similar in many ways, but they give off a different feel.

Remind me of High School Debut starring Mizubata Junpei. ML is popular guy & many girls like him in his high school. FL is the opposite of ML but slowly progressing they fell in love with each other before they realized it. FL make a promise not to fall in love with ML but she was hiding her feeling for him. Cute & lovely high school love story.

Hibino Tsubaki is a young teenage girl with a talent for styling other people's hair. Yet, Tsubaki suffers from low self-esteem and isn't very comfortable styling her own hair. She also has a tendency to dress old-fashioned. She's teased at high school because of this.
One day, popular male student Tsubaki Kyota targets Tsubaki for teasing. Tsubaki Kyota holds sway over the entire classroom and is quite a playboy. Inexplicably they fall in love. Meanwhile, Tsubaki Kyota has commitment issues.

Plot is similar, at least at first - bad boy that never slept with same girl twice meets a serious no-nonsense girl and they help each other resolve their psychological issues. MARS is much deeper, more serious, and obviously longer with more plot lines.

Awww these movies are just sooo cute and similar. You know an introvert, which is the female lead in both movies fall for the cool popular guy. And they both just make you go awwwwwwwwww.

And also it's quite sad if you are not in a relationship because it makes you want a boyfriend/girlfriend really badly :/

The story is pretty similar. The main character is considered not attractive compared to her sister and because of that her personality is shy and awkward. However, because she shares a name with the popular guy in her class she catches his attention. Because of her quiet demeanor she becomes the target of his bullying but things start to shift when she stands up to him. He still "messes" with her but in ways that create opportunities for her true personality to shine and in doing so they begin to fall for each other.

Main plot point shared is that the male lead doesn't like the female leads personality in the beginning but it soon becomes apparent that he misjudged her and he finds himself drawn to her.

They are both adapted from shojo manga and about a normal girl who's pursued by the most handsome guy of the school.
