I didn't know this manga was made into a movie. I jus recently started reading the manga also so I decided to watch this.

It's cute. It's your typical popular boy, unpopular student romance. But I still liked it. I think this would've been better as a drama since everything seemed extremely fast. The whole teasing phase then relationship phase all seemed rushed which is uncommon for movies.

I think if you haven't read the manga you would probably like it more.

I loved the cast. Matsuzaka is some serious eye candy ~ all the characters were really likable but I feel like some of the supporting cast should've had a bigger role like in the manga. It's kind of like they were just there to be there. I liked the two main leads but I feel like their chemistry didn't develop well enough. They were cute together but I just didn't seem like they really liked each other, it was rather lacking.

The music was pretty good. The audio for the whole movie was a little weird so it was hard to hear the music clearly but they were enjoyable tunes.

First of all I need to point out that I have read the manga and know the details inside out as a fan.

Well, considering I approached this movie very accidentaly and since I really like the manga, I decided to give this a go.

Some parts very unexpected - in a bad and good ways. The story was slightly shifted from the original, but still kept the warmth of their meeting. But probably that shift is what made some gaping holes in the storyline, as it felt unfinished, missing something.

The acting was good, there was nothing to complain about just the script that didn't allow to go very deep into the characters to understand their actions (most of it was shuffled, muffled and skiped through very fast).

Overall, it is a good watch, yet I wouldn't rewatch it again as a manga fan.

This is a complete awful waste of time. The most important part of the manga was the beginning, if anything the ending was a little draggy. It kind of just kept stringing it out. Anyway, the point being is that the beginning was completely ruined. Things happen at the wrong time, they skip important development cues and to top it off the actors are completely awful to watch.

Don't get me started on the lame soundtrack.

If you read the manga and enjoyed it, don't watch this. Unless you watch to add to your list then just skip it completely.

My ratings are based on the movie alone.

Story:
I am an avid fan of Kanan Minami sensei books and out of all her series, kyou koi was my favorite followed by honey x honey drops. In terms of storyline, yes i have to agree that this is a typical cliche romance love story. Looking at just the movie without comparing against the manga, I have to say the plot for this movie was terrible. It was choppy and stiff. This movie differs slightly from the manga (if not why do you call this a movie) and they only included milestones from the manga.

Acting/Cast:
I watched this movie not knowing that Emi and Tori were partners in Asuko March and I thought their acting was not bad (I mean compare them to itakiss, theirs is not bad) there was somewhat chemistry but Tori's acting is still quite stiff and same goes to Emi. I love Emi's voice though. When I first watched the movie, I thought Tori wasn't good enough for the role. I mean all fans of 2d characters will want the real life actors to look like the characters and don't ask me why but I felt yamapi was best suited for the role. But never mind, after 10 minutes into the show I was totally swooned by Tori. LOOK AT HIS MOLES IT'S SO CUTE (and I think he looks like the "meaty" version of sato takeru).

Music:
I have nothing else to say except amazing songs. From scandal to mika nakajima, how can i say this OST is horrible?! I was enjoying every song played in the movie and after I was done, I told myself I need the OST!

Rewatch Value:
I wouldnt want to rewatch this simply because mostly movie adaption of manga are usually not that good. They tend to remove main parts of the original plot and if u watch the movie alone it tends to get awkward at some parts and the flow is not right.

Overall:
Generally, you need to read the manga to understand the both of them before you watch the movie. You definitely will compare them at the beginning. After realizing it was different from the manga, I watched the movie alone and i enjoyed it. I read many reviews saying that this movie was terrible/ they did not enjoy it. Yes, that is because they don't read the manga. I enjoyed the movie compared to the horrible ONA but i will not recommend it to someone who is not an otaku.

For those who hadn't read the manga, this movie is based on a liked, long manga, that they had tried to squeeze into a 2 hours movie, that's why I want you to excuse some unbalances in the story, other than this, I promise that you'll like the story, it's cute, warm, and can make you smile.
For those who had read the manga, watch this!, It won't add on much to the story that you already know in detail, but you'll see a nice, well-done portray for the characters you love, and like them even more, the two main leads did a wonderful job I think,

They could've added much more with the music, I think the music was the only regrettable thing..

so in general, a manga reader or not, watch this ;)

The movie is generally nice but it has nothing special with storyline. Sometimes, things seem to be rushed. The chemistry between the two leads is cute- it makes up for everything that is lacking. But I think the progression of their relationship is kind of fast-paced. It could have been a little bit slowed down so the romance tension would be more nicely built.

I have no problem with any character, they are all likable. But most of the supporting characters they don’t serve any significant purpose for being there. It is kind of a waste.

Anyway, this would be a right choice if you want something light and sweet with little conflicts.

I had watched the anime of this story and then read the manga I do think you need the back history of this stroyline for all the bits in the movie to make sense. Honestly I wished this film were a drama do you had a bunch of episodes to go through. Film is very well done and the casting is good and it's one of those coming of age sort of tales.
Overall I think it's worth watching if your a fan of the comic or anime just knoe going into it a lot of the scenes from the anime are sort of left out in this due to the time frame.

It's a rather cute film though the lead guy in this sort of loses out to the anime version of this telling.

I didn't read the manga so I am basing my opinion by just watching this movie.
It is your typical romance movie that is for sure. And all the common cliché's are included.
I felt that the story (even though the movie was 2 hours long) was rushed.
I also clearly saw some movie mistakes that shouln'd have been there. Also I felt that the emotions were really shallow in this movie. I really didn't feel involved and at times my phone seemed more interesting than the movie.
This movie would have been better if they put more time into the character development and into their actions, emotions and in the overall story because it was sometimes was really unrealistic.
I would not rewatch this movie, maybe watching this with a friend but I would never turn it on for my self again.

Skip this if you don't like the typical romantic movie with all the cliché's.
Watch this if you like romantic and cute movies.

Having read the manga (multiple times no less), I came into watching this movie with expectations which were met on some levels, disappointed on others.

The Story: Compared to the manga, this story is much the same when dealing with the two main characters, Tsubaki and Kyouta, but when it comes to the backstories, well... much was changed. Especially when dealing with Tsubaki's and Kyouta's family life, much too much was changed in my opinion - but like I said, I had expectations. Certainly without having read the manga, these stories would have been much easier to digest and accept.

The Cast: I felt the two main casts performed well enough in their roles. I personally enjoyed Matsuzaki's portrayal of Kyouta more than Emi's of Tsubaki, but overall they captured the essence of "first love/relationship" that is the basis of the plot line in the manga. The support cast was also good, and I did enjoy Yamazaki as Nishiki during the beach scene. Definitely one of the more funny moments in the movie.

The Music: Poppy, but it fit the scenes it was played in. No complaints on this front.

Rewatch Value: I will probably watch this again as background noise, and just because it is one of my favorite mangas come to life. Can't beat that, no matter how disappointing the backstories ^^

Overall: I would suggest that readers of the manga watch this, if only to see the main casts portrayal of Tsubaki and Kyouta, and for non-readers as well as people who are interested in seeing a simple, sweet high school love story.

As a manga adaptation, the movie wasn't as bad as I thought it would be. It was simple and cute but not really something to be excited about. In my opinion, it was pretty average... if only they could have replaced Matsuzaka Tori with someone better, I would have appreciated the movie much more. I'm deeply sorry to his fans, but I'm only trying to be honest with my own opinion. I feel like cringing every time I see him interact with Takei Emi, her acting is quite wasted alongside the guy. He would probably have done better if he removed the idol image in his role... then maybe I would have liked him more. I hope he has improved though, since this film was set last 2013.

Setting those comments aside, what I enjoyed about this film was the movie theme; that is in which the characters where trying to come into terms with change, finding their own path and deciding for their future. Sometimes I wish this was as simple as it is in real life... but then again, this is a shoujo manga adaptation, so maybe the mangaka artist was inspired by someone from reality.

Over all the story was really shoujou-ish, cute, fluffy and mixed with adolescent love-life problems. I did enjoy the music as well, it gave a good vibe throughout the movie, adding more cute to the already cute. I probably would not be re-watching this film, but I would recommend this to viewers who are looking for manga adaptations and hope they could pass their own judgement on the film, whether they compare it to the original or not.

First Love Forever Until Eternity

●ML is a topper student but playboy whereas FL is a shy but cheerful girl. FL is named Subaki which is the same as the ML surname, and this is how their first conversation happened at the first day of high school. The story is heartwarming with two of them falling in love eventually trying to figure out the meaning of true love. The story had the elements of a cliche plot like ML action are affection deprived which FL sees. ML encourages her to find her self-esteem and dream.

●Every scene is written beautifully and gives a warm feeling. It lives up to its Title LOVE FOR BEGINNER, as this movie takes on a journey of two inexperienced people falling in love where they both come to realize what true love is.

●This movie is not about an ugly duckling turning into a beautiful swan but it's a movie about a girl with insecurities who wants to kiss a guy whom she wants to be with forever.

●Acting by everyone is amazing. Emi Takei (Subaki Hibino) is very adorable throughout. She just blended in the character with her charming face and strong-willed character. She separates self-respect and love which is admirable.
Tori Matsuzaka (Kyota Subaki) actually looked a bit older for a high schoolers but then I adjusted. He had that ruthless expression in the beginning but turns pleasant and goodish. He had portrayed the character very well

●Music is pleasant and songs amplify the mood of the scenes. It is soothing to the ears and visually appealing.

●This movie can be rewatched for it has an adorable story with excellent performance.
●Its recommended to those who love fluffy romance and believe in first love becoming forever.
