Pride Episode 11 Reactions
This episode kept me guessing right up to the last 5 minutes or so about what would become of Halu and Aki. I thought I was gonna have a coronary. Was it really necessary to put viewers through all that stress? I'm not convinced. I'm happy Halu made it big, he deserved it, but I wish things had played out differently.
All in all, though, I'm content, if not totally happy, with how everything went. I'm off to write my review and it's gonna be very good.
I have some serious issues with this ending. Let me just say, that if I haven't watched so many dramas before or if this drama wasn't so epic for the most part it wouldn't bother me so much, but it did. Why would you do this to me?! I believed that this story will have a worthy ending (despite previous episodes it still could be done), but why would they go into such cliche, so overused ending I cannot comprehend- I mean- TIME JUMP?!Really?! You couldn't think of anything better? I'm glad their ended up together, but for me there where many things lacking. Let me write, what I think should be there:
- for the few previous episodes, Haru was lacking in performance, he has not, even once, expressed his feelings to Aki, considering it was brought up both by Hotta - accusing Haru for not giving his 100% in defending his love and by Yoko who explained him that unless he express his true feelings Aki will not be brave enough to love him, that scene was really desired.
- I?m glad Aki split with her boyfriend ? but why it was his idea(or actually Tomo?s idea)? It?d be better if she did that either on her own accord or after hearing much desired Haru?s confession.
- even if they had to do that time jump, which can be as last resort explained ( ok, Haru can only love a girl that will wait for him or something), their meeting after 3 years(sic!) should still be different, but it was really emotionless and shallow and both of them know how to show emotions, they have proven it before.
- I get that ?I know that you know that I know and I understand? vibe in Asian dramas, but I really enjoyed how they explained their feelings in first episodes, before they switched to that telepathic mode ?they were more realistic before (The one and only justified use of telepathic mode was in My Mighty Princess, where we could actually hear what they are thinking)
In my perfect world Haru would have expressed his feelings to Aki ? he can do that with his eyes only, he have very expressive eyes ;) and then he should take her with him to Canada, even if it would be tough for them it would make more sense than asking her after 3 years. I really don?t like time jumps, I?ve seen too many. Now that I have my rant over, I going off to write a positive review, because this drama was truly great, no matter what.
