From the second half of the story, they try to make up for the chemistry with kisses.
The visuals and graphics are fantastic.
I'm not talking to anyone about watching it. But I can't campaign for it either.

A MUST WATCH!!!
I'm not really into cdrama but thanks to tiktok I saw FIYS and then my obsession with this series started.. I dunno but there's something with the leads and the story that made me hooked.. Plus Kai made me fall for him and I really love Cheng Xiao.. When you watch the drama even the simplest gestures of the male lead can give you so much butterflies.. The last time I fell in love with a drama was wayback 2010 with Playful Kiss, then FIYS came and it gave me the feeling I haven't felt for a long time the same feeling Playful Kiss gave me... And as a girl I wanna have my own man like Lu Si Cheng, hoping I could get one.. I'm a kdrama fan for so long but this year sadly I wasn't able to encounter a kdrama that can make me so hooked like FIYS.. This is a must watch... One of my favorite dramas i’ve watch, maybe my top 1 as of now (from k-drama, j-drama, c-drama). I have rewatch it multiple times already but still can’t get over with their chemistry. Perfect!!! 恭喜大家！ 還有真的感謝 for giving us this masterpiece. At first i was hesitant to watch because i was not a fan of e-sport and some of the actors are new, so not expecting much from them. But, just by its first episode i was already hooked up with the story and cannot wait for the next episodes. Due to my impatience sometimes, i watch it without english subtitles cause i cannot restrain myself to wait for another week to watch it.Was this review helpful to you?
I'm not afraid & I don't regret-Tong Yao
just finished watching everything and overall, I think this drama is really well done. Not perfect but for someone who didn't really play game like me, I enjoyed watching the e-sport theme(my first e-sport drama) and it didn't give me any bad light at all about e-sport. I appreciated the players' dream more now. The CGI was well done, they took 8 months to finish it.I LOVE the chemistry of Xu Kai and Cheng Xiao! I definitely want to see them acting together again, maybe a wuxia drama since they both really have good physique imo or another modern drama would be great. I even think they look alike at times, if Tong Yao had black hair in the drama, they will look even more alike imo I think that's why I love the chemistry, their visuals really compliment each other very well, the perfect height difference too. I found their sweet scenes quite natural most of the times and damn all those kisses, one of the most satisfying skinship I had ever watched on screen😆
Overall, very worth watching and congratulations to people who discovered this drama after it finished airing, you guys don't have to wait for new episodes like us, we suffered enough😅
Shout out to whole ZGDX team, YQCB, CK, FNC etc I will miss you guys, my eye candies...blessing to my eyes. It will take some time to move on, I'm at the phase of watching YT videos of TY/LSC moments, withdrawal syndrom at its best.

MUST WATCH
I actually rarely watch on going dramas since i am very impatient, sometimes i get bored as i wait and ends up with me putting the drama on-hold. But surprisingly, this isn't the case for fiys! i am into cdrama these days so i decided to try fiys plus it's an esports drama! i am a sucker for dramas like this as i like playing games myself. I can’t exactly find any words to describe this drama, it’s funny cute, sweet and inspiring, a mixed of it all!To be honest, It can't really be considered as the most unique or special drama for a lot of people but one thing that made me think of how special this is, is how inspirational it is! I love how it's breaking gender stereotypes, as someone who plays game myself, getting misogynist comments from people often happens bc they think it does not suit me although i did not really care about it still gets on me, in the earlier eps people doubt Tong Yao just bc of her gender and i loved how she proved them wrong and showed them her worth. I also loved her speech when she talked about women playing games and all, i couldn't remember the whole thing she said but it warmed my heart. I also loved when Lu Si Cheng talked about their fans, "If you really like a player, please come closer to his competition stage, but stay a bit further away from his personal life." How i wish i could tell this to every obsessed weird fans out there.
The female lead (Tong Yao) is competitive and hard working. She has good gaming skills, no. 1 tamamo mae player for a reason. She's a sweet and a really good team player. She cares not just for her teammates but also for her opponents, she doesn’t look down on them and geniunely wishes them the best. She might come off as childish and impulsive sometimes but she knows and reflects on it. It's my first time seeing Cheng Xiao in a drama and i kinda find her acting stiff at first but i got used to it after awhile and even found her adorable. Not that she's bad, just maybe the lack of expression but she's actually doing pretty good for someone who just started acting.
The male lead (Lu Si Cheng) is the type of guy who seems cold and quiet to everyone but has a soft spot for the fl. He's also a really great captain. He geniunely cares for his teammates. Like the fl, he also got good gaming skills, he's an awesome gamer. He might come off as cold but he's honestly not, he's just really too honest and calm lol. I have never seen Xu Kai before and i am glad he's the ml, he did really well in portraying the character. I even became a fan! i watched arsenal military academy while waiting for new eps and now im currently planning to watch more of his past works. Will surely wait for his future works too.
More than anyone in the esports field, i believe that the one who understands and trusts Tong Yao the most is Lu Si Cheng. He sees her as someone who's capable of being a great professional gamer, regardless of her gender and what people think of her. He believes in her but he is also always right beside her when she's upset or unhappy, tong yao’s overcoming her fear and cheng ge’s comfort and support for her, he is so supportive. The way he’s always the first one to push and support tong yao just warms my heart.
This chemistry is really great, they look so good together!I i can't help but scream everytime i see them together. XK and CX really succeeded in making my heart flutter whenever i see the both of them together.
Ofc, let's talk about the supporting characters, Falling Into Your Smile would never be the same without them! Y'all should really look forward to the relationship between the cps, the wholesome bromance and friendships. There were some team conflicts but I liked how they sort things out. Behind all those wins is a team with amazing teammates.
Overall, it's a great drama! I will for sure rewatch it once i had the time. I like how it covered different life aspects like relationships, friendships and teamwork.
If you're hesitant to watch it bc you know nothing about esports then dw, it's okay if you don't know much about gaming, you can watch it and you'll still understand how things works since they also explained some of the things related to the game/esports. Even if they did not explained it, ig you'll still understand how it works the more you watch it.
Please do not take things too seriously, a drama is called a drama for a reason, it's all for entertainment purposes. Some may love fiys and some may not. It has its flaws.

A drama that's cute and funny. A light but a fun watch!!
This drama is really good. As someone who is too much into esports, I found that aspect of the drama to be quite fun. It is cute and fluffy. The bickering of the leads as well the team members is just so funny and also cute at times.Lu su cheng is portrayed as a cold but caring character and Tong yao feels somewhat like a realistic character. What I liked the most is both the leads have a lot of bickering scenes and they are just so funny. Lu su Cheng loves pulling Tong yao's leg and the reaction of their other teammates when they bicker, that makes the scene even more funnier.
Also I love the scenes between lu yue (lu su cheng's brother) and Tong yao. They quarrel and compete like siblings.
Moreover ZGDX other members K, fatty, cat, god ming and the manager, they are like cherries on top of the cake. And also the second ml jian yang , he is just so cute. He makes me feel bad at times but then he surely was at fault and he missed his chance.
Also FL's best friend, Jin yang and her boyfriend, Ai ji a, they have a great chemistry. They are just so cute.
It's really been a while since I have enjoyed a cdrama so much. I just love this drama.
P.S: It's already been more than a year since it ended. I tried rewatching this again and I found it a bit cringy but nevertheless funny. Also, I really do love the esports aspect. The acting is a little stiff but honestly if you ask me it's still worth a watch!! And now I would say it's a 8-8.5 rather than a 9 but based on what I felt then I don't wanna change the rating.

Acting/Cast. It just wasn't par to my expectations. Either that or cutesy stuff really isn't my thing. It wasn't that great of a chemistry and their chemistry just seems stiff. Honestly, I didn't love the characters either.
Music. I liked certain tracks.
Rewatch value. I personally, would not rewatch it, I couldn't even get through most of the show without skipping most of it.
Overall. I do not recommend it, but whatever floats your boat.

This was an enjoyable watch that got me into E-Sports!
I got into watching this because of Xu Kai, since he's become one of my favourite actors, and I wanted to watch something while waiting for Ancient Love Poetry episodes to be uploaded. So I decided to watch this one. The story did started off slow at first for me, and the romance takes a bit slow to build into the story, but the characters/story is really loveable. I love ZGDX and the members in there are all very loveable to me. The second couple story, is quite enjoyable too.Once again, Xu Kai acting on his character, Lu Si Cheng does not disappoint, I love how he leads his team and give advises when they are doing playing E-sports against other players, he can be quite intimating at times hahaha XDD But when he smiles, and when he acts sweets, he's very adorable to me. He have a very nice smile IMO. I also love the way he expresses his love for Tong Yao, like he is really good at showing me, that when he starts to love her (which you can evidently see it), he really does these little things to show his love, which is nice, and honestly I don't have any complaints about his love for her.
But for Tong Yao, I don't know, I feel like she lacks something for me, I feel like the way she shows me her 'in love' with Lu Si Cheng, I don't really feel the chemistry, well aside from the story says that they're together and she loves him, I don't get that from the actress, Cheng Xiao, in expressing her love. So that's something I don't quite enjoy. But ignoring that, I don't mind the pair, they are still enjoyable to me, thanks to Xu Kai's great acting, and his ability to show his emotions/love when portraying his character.
The ending finale, of the Esports game, against YQCB in the finals championships, have me at the edge of my seat, in terms of how the game ended, it was done beautifully, no complaints there! But in terms of the main cp ending, it is more of an happy open ending, so that was not very satisfying if I was fan to that pair, but since I am not, then it's okay for me, no hard feelings (lol), since I know that they will be together, if I was a fan to the pair Lu Si Cheng and Tong Yao, then I would have wanted a closure for them since that's a must when it comes to my favourite pairing. But the second couple got their happy ending since they got their wedding, so that was nice.
Rewatch Value: I will be rewatching this again from time to time, since it's an enjoyable watch for me. If you're interested in giving something light-hearted to watch, you can check out this drama!

Miscast Female Lead
I’ve watched so many Kdrama and Cdrama and well aware of actors getting cast in dramas due to their popularity in music industry, I’ve seen it in a lot in Korean dramas.Cheng Xiao is absolutely lacking in looks, charisma and of course acting. For one reason Her face that resembles an animated character due to extensive cosmetic surgery, that she actually look mean and unsympathetic.
Absolutely no chemistry between the two leads because of her being miscast.
She is better off playing Antagonist characters.

Let's do better
Hello,I'm not even sure if this is a review or rant, but I felt that I needed a place to express my love and hate relationship with this piece of work. I have read the novel and now completed the drama, and I must say that my feelings are quite a mess. While reading the drama I had this nagging voice in the back of my head that kept telling me that I was not vibbing with the power dynamic on team ZDGX and the way female v.s male characters were presented. I mean I guess I demanded a lot from the novel or the drama I wanted to be presented with a female protagonist that yes showed us the dark side of fighting and excelling in a male dominated area, without nonetheless losing her backbone or turning into another dude. But was served up with a feisty female character to everyone else but the man lead. Tong Yoa was a girl breaking barriers, who would lose all her fire in important places the moment Lu Sicheng appeared, I mean she was firm with him on matters that didn't really count. I feel that a lot of C-dramas like to perpetuate this trope that women cannot be strong and independent unless there is a man smoothing thing for them. I mean Lu Sicheng was again another typical controlling and arrogant CEO type male lead that is like the archetype of C-entertainment. Although it was somewhat toned down in the drama. To my point there is this one scene that truly made me uncomfortable while watching the drama, it's the scene where Lu Sicheng makes Tong Yao stand outside for having bitten DQ Jungler that was threatening her, that scene his uncomfortable because he doesn't actually ask her truly what happened and goes on to treat her like a kid and none of his teammates says anything simply going with it. And then later when she managed to explain, he doesn't even get spooked at the fact that she almost got assaulted but make it harder on her by being a despotic tyrant extorting the promise that she must call him if ever in the same situation. I have to asked how it is actually possible to be able to grab a phone and call him if she is ever in a situation where she is getting assaulted. Granted Tong Yao truly didnt't used her brain at the moment, since she was coming out already on the phone she should not have hang up and maybe if JingYang was listening on she would have called for help. But it doesn't erase the fact that the power dynamic is truly left to be desired in their relationship. The drama did tone down a lot of Lu Sicheng truly domeering behaviors once they got in a relationship. But still I was quite sad that even in 2021 there seems to be no desire for scriptwriters to present us with a healthy relationship on the small or big screen.
Well, that was my general rant.
But of course, the all drama was not bad, it had its good point, I mean the graphic was truly good, I really like what they did when they did that little in fight transition into the game. Also, it was refreshing to have a true sismance where both girls truly went to bat for each other, Jinyang is truly a bestfriend that anyone would love to have in their corner. As for the acting I have no big qualms maybe the actress playing Tong Yoa should have been somewhat that emote a little more, because she seemed truly bland at time serving up, at most 3 distinct emotions during the all drama.
But anyway, I was not really planning on reviewing this, it was just that I really wanted to vent my little frustration. If you are looking for a great story of overcoming the difficulties of being the exception that makes the rules this drama ain't it. But if you just want to laugh some and otherwise be on your way this may the one for ya.

The best video-game Chinese drama released this year!!
July 28, 2021Oh my god. This is the only video game Cdrama that I finished watching and loved at the same time. This definitely beats the other drama in terms of keeping the plot progressive and not falling into those cliches troupes that Cdramas often use.
First of all, I just wanna say how much I love this drama for not having that stupid unnecessary mid-plot break-up arcs. I also love how Smiling is such a lovable female lead. She's Independent and she ain't like those other clingy and whiney female leads. Also, I just admire how she never retorted to breaking up with Chessman but rather talking to him when they go through a misunderstanding or a problem. Second, Chessman or Si Cheng, man where to find him. He definitely executed the cold tsundere type of character without being an asshole to the female lead. Even though he was cold at first, he never did anything that I find borderline abusing or just plain rude. Also, I just love his protective and jealous side like OMG. He's also such a big flirt too like boi calm down or else 😉. AND DAMN THOSE KISSES ARE SO GOOD. LIKE IT'S NOT THE STUPID FISH-EYED KISS. IT'S AN ACTUAL KISS LIKE THEY REALLY ATE EACH OTHER. THOSE TWO LEADS ARE SUCH GOOD KISSERS. 🥵
As for their teammate and their main crew, they are all good as well. No stupid love triangle troupe where my heart aches for the second lead. Furthermore, I want a man like K. He is so fine, a bit cold, but his personality just captures me. Every time he is on-screen my eyes just always become fixated on him. As for Fatty, I feel like he has seen everything that this couple did, and honestly if I was him I would probably think the same way. Fatty always catches those two in the most awkward positions and situations that if not given the right context, you would be like omg wtff...
Oh and to be honest, I am so happy that people here got the consequences that they deserved like Smiling's ex and her stupid hater. AHAHAH I don't feel remorse for her hater especially. Thank god, they showed how so many people have such a negative opinion of gamers. Like we are in the 21st-century folks, our world is progressive. There are always new careers that will suddenly appear. I hope more people become open-minded.
Whoa that was a long review, BUT I HOPE YOU WATCH THIS DRAMA. IT'S SO GOOD. NO BORING PART AND ALL EPISODES ARE WORTH FROM EVERY MINUTE THAT THEY PUT. BTW, what were they hinting at at the end?? Please let it be a second season. I really want another season for them.

Good halfway. Dropping after the leads get together. Boring toward the end. Abrupt Ending.
During the first 16ep, I gave this drama a score of 7.5. Then the score dropped to 6.5 up until ep28. Lastly, it dropped even more to 5.5 after I finished watching the last 3 episodes.---------------------------------
(1) Plot and Script [~]
The plot and script of the first half are rational yet fulfilling and not bland. Consequently, I don't feel any dragging. But their rationality turns out to change during the latter half, for example, the security system at where the leads' team lives is pretty good in the beginning. When FL's ex and ML's blind date want to come seeing them, the security stops them at the gate, doesn't allow them to pass that point by themselves. But during the latter half, a huge bunch of media can go past the gate to wait at the building's door for the leads' team. How come they can openly pass the gate like there's no security anymore?
In the first half, the love storyline is cute and rational, too. It's not greasy or obsessed with kissing like we normally see in other Chinese idol dramas, but that changes during the latter half as well. The script after the leads get together also starts to be 肉麻 and 有土味 (tasteless/out-of-date flirtation + cheesily goosebumpy dialogue). The ML calls FL "小姑娘 (~little gal)" in a way that isn't a tease or joke... And the FL teases ML by calling him "臭流氓 (~ya gross rascal)".... Ummmm those words make them sound like they come from the 90s -- not the right word choice in a very contemporary e-sport drama at all for me.

(2) Cast and Acting [~]
Not the best acting, but I'm satisfied with all the cast. They all create a good atmosphere in the group. I like to see when they all are together. The chemistry doesn't exist only between the FL and ML.
For the ML, he doesn't have the best acting skills to perfectly serve his role. His subtle anti-social character is portrayed only by frowning with the eyebrows without his facial muscles involved. And he's supposed to be fluent in Korean, but it's clearly obvious he can't move his mouth in accordance with the way to pronounce the words. Despite all that, he still has the vibe that seizes me to stop and look at him.
Nothing to complain about the FL. I like this type of character.

Acceptable but not that good. The music serves it ok for an e-sport rom-com that needs to offer a contemporary, fast-pacing, competitive atmosphere, but they don't have enough music in the stock. The background music starts to be repetitive even in the same scene. And when the music repeats itself in a scene, it makes the viewers feel that the scene is starting to be too long, so instead of generating an exciting atmosphere, the result turns out to be the opposite.

In the e-sport/gaming dramas, we can't not include the CG topic. This one is good. It's the drama sponsored by Tencent, the biggest gaming company in China, and it's like I can see they assigned the game creating talents from the game department to create the CG in the game competition scenes. Good job but some scenes are still too long.

(5) Toward the end [-]
It's like the writer runs out of ideas toward the end. The storyline goes nowhere anymore and they just drag especially during the last 3 episodes. However, even though they drag the story pretty much, they can't make the story end with the same tempo. They suddenly rush the progress during the last 10 minutes and end it abruptly. It's like they're fed up with their own job and don't want to have any kind of relation with it anymore, so they half-heartedly made these last few episodes before intolerantly ditched it at the end. The ending is especially disappointing. I feel like being thrown to it without getting to walk properly to perceive each step toward the last point. I don't feel they have 'the last point' even. They rush it to the point that I don't feel the drama has a closure. The story surely ends, no more story in it, but it's still the kind of hanging end that the viewers' feelings just hang in the middle.
