Both of these Japanese shows involve human experimentation and are beautifully heavy on the brotherly bonds.

**I'm actually surprised no one recommended this yet**

Both of them deal with genetic mutation/ cloning.
There are two of the same person ( twins in Y and clones in D)
Both twins/ clones grew up in a different circumstance than the other.
I loved both and although Yasha is way older, don’t let it get to you... you will be missing a gem!

Both main characters have somebody they wish to protect and are willing to risk their lives in doing so. There are sci/fi elements mixed into reality and have very heavy undertones of gayness/touchy-feely friendship that makes you go uwu. There's also quite a fair bit of action and government manipulation going on.
